You call me a troll, yet here is the OP pretending as if he has made the ultimate sacrifice. I have friends and family in Japan, so don't play the troll card on me. But I find the OPs post quite offensive.

If I wasn't a college student making part-time wages, I'd follow suit too. But alas, disposable income isn't as disposable for me as many here (I work just barely enough to pay off my Apple stuff 😛) 🙁.

Texting REDCROSS on your phone is good too. 🙂
 
Ignore the trolls in this thread. Props to OP for donating, definitely a commendable thing most wouldn't do.

Not to take this thread off topic, because you deserve all the praise you get, but I'm very looking forward to having responsibilities and bills after I get a degree and "real" job within the next few years. 😀

But enough about that - ignore the haters. What you did was very heartwarming. 🙂

Better man then me. I will sleep on it and see how shallow I might be. I don't think I could do it. I would like to get my iPad and see how I can make more money and then donate that money. I hope it comes back to you 2000x.
 
Honestly, I don't think I could donate like that. But I'm definitely donating something as soon as Japan officially asks for help from Red Cross.

Full respect for OP.
