Anyone else considering the copper? I'm strictly a black front/back phone person, but since the front bezels will most likely be black I may take the plunge.

I'm highly considering the Blush Gold. I would say this color is a definite happening.

lol hmm yeah that's a pretty sad statement if we are considering a bezel-less screen and removal of their ICONIC home button as "radically redesigned". The standards these days for products have clearly gone downhill. Not that many end users care.. they'll just keep tossing cash at whatever has a company logo on it.

How much more can you radically redesign a small thin slab of glass and electronics? Giving us a screen size close to the plus and slightly larger size body than the 7 with no more buttons or bezels is not small. I think the days of radical redesign along the line of what we had from 1 to 3 to 4 are not going to be easy to come by any longer.

Could someone refresh my memory about options? When the phones go on sale, is the unlocked, contract-free phone available immediately or does that usually come later?

So excited! I'm already stressing over the preorder lol.

Edit: I'm definitely going for the white 8, so glad we're getting white in place of silver this year!

You're Referring to the Sim free model, which usually launches a few weeks after the initial iPhone launch.

1,000 carefully selected invitees will be plenty. With live streaming now prevalent and the consolidation of publishing companies pretty much every outlet will be quoting the same sources anyway.

Looking forward to the announcement to see if there is anything that hasn't been revealed yet. Will there be a "one more thing" moment? Something unexpected, new, and fresh? Some device or service we didn't know we needed but now find we can't live without? Something to upend entire entrenched industries and empower the consumer? Who am I kidding, Steve Jobs is gone. We'll get Tim Cook's iterative improvements along with an "Edition" or "Pro" moniker to justify a 25% price hike.

Lets see if the iPhone 8 will be €/£1000 or more, I bet lots of potential European buyers will skip this model if it's more.

On the other hand, if it's indeed called the iPhone 8 they will sell a ton in China, and even more if it's called the iPhone 8 AND it's Gold or red.

I'm wondering if the final iPhone 8s will have uniform black camera bumps and white logos across all different color phones. Can't say I'm a fan, but others might like it.

Goes to show they are trying to save money on the most redic things. Like the TouchID ring not being red on the Red edition iPhone

Yep. The more expensive the phone the more redic does the monthly payment look in marketing material. Its already crazy to see 49€ iPhone 7 Plus + 39€ for the plan a month.

Back in the day i could get an iPhone 4 for 1€ and 49€ a month incl the price for the plan

With the lack of Touch ID seeming more likely every day I can't say I'm too excited for this one. I may go 7s+ if that's the only route to maintain Touch ID but I'll make up my mind after the keynote.

I’m having a tough time deciding. If TouchID is gone from the premium iPhone then I may go with the 7s Plus from my 7 Plus, but then again from what I’ve seen of the 7s Plus the Black looks like jet black and I have the jet Black now ... it’s a mother to keep clean and scratch free

What if the removal of Touch ID is to replace it with something that is much better?

It reminds me of when Apple used to sell iPod Nanos and Shuffles that had colored bodies, white click wheels, and then gray icons. I always thought having icons that matched the bodies would look so much nicer.

That does look nicer. I think the difficulty would be in getting the colors to match precisely. If a grey is slightly darker on one batch of click wheels it doesn't matter, but if one batch of click wheels doesn't exactly match the body, it won't look so hot.

ppfff.....And a few weeks from now, people start Flight tracking their new iPhone 8

"Where is your shipment right now?" Is it flightnr XXX or flight XXY?"
"ow! wow! mine just arrived in Kentucky!"

#hyperdehyper ;)

Or, "Why does my phone have to fly all the way from Anchorage to Kentucky if I live in Denver?"

I'm not trying to downplay this or act spoiled... but I just don't see how this is a radically redesigned iPhone, judging from all the leaks I have been presented so far. It just seems like a continuation of the iPhone 6's design (terrible design), with a larger front display, glass back, and no home button. The overall shape and design seem to be milking iPhone 6 for all its terrible worth.

To me, iPhone 3G was a radical redesign from the original iPhone. And how can we forget the legendary iPhone 4. So different from previous iPhones that people fried Gizmodo for claiming it was an iPhone prototype.

I mean, it's basically glass and glass and stainless steel now. All screen, very little body. Incredibly thin, all things considered. Not sure what else there is left to do.

You've got to laugh at this forum. Removing the home button, and by extension replacing Touch ID with advanced (read: it works) facial recognition is one of the biggest changes Apple could possibly make.

It's predictable, they had to remove it. It's old tech.. eventually they'll remove the front facing camera as well. You know.. Courage..

Well, isn't the removal of the ICONIC home button that has been there since the beginning a radical redesign in itself?

If it comes with the black front, I'm down with any color (probably will go with the blush gold or silver). I don't care too much about the back color.

Revolutionary 3D sensing facial recognition doesn't excite you? Why would you stay with LCD, huge bezels, and now the same shape of phone for 4 YEARS... simply to have Touch ID. That makes zero sense to me

If all models ship with a black front I will be going with the White model for sure although the copper and black will look really great too I think. Honestly any of the colors would be fine with me as long as they don't have the white front, which is a horribly design choice IMO that is proven by all those silver dummy units floating around.
