I kept it, but honestly it's relatively unusable, speed wise, after working with the S2.

Will use it for higher risk sports activities.

I wonder if ... however, "ceramic is more than four times as hard as stainless steel."

Yes, but ceramic can have a 'grain', like wood. Some ceramics are actually rather fragile if hit on that one weak spot. Example, I had a Heuer sapphire crystal shatter in one of their watches. Yes, it is very durable, but...

A tech said that the chances of hitting a crystal at exactly the point where it would shatter is pretty rare.

I don't know how Apple has their ceramic cases made. I'd imagine them to be a lot harder to break. Still, having a ceramic watch would be cool...

I haven't heard, is it heavier than the other cases?

Office - leather, leather loop or black link

Dress up - leather or black link (no loop)

Casual - sports bands to match the shirt

I don't really like any of the nylon bands

I bought a nylon (I assume you are talking about the woven bands?) and decided after trying it for a few hours to not use it. It looked so nice in the box...

Lighter than the steel watch but heavier than the aluminium.

Okay, thanks.

I've heard people complaining about the weight of the stainless, but mine replaces a chunky Heuer dive watch, so I don't feel the weight. I haven't weighed them, but I imagine the ss being lighter than the Heuer. Just wish it were more waterproof.

Edition for
Pity. I wonder if people are selling them on eBay. Or why Apple doesn't sell them as a extra.

Cool watch, btw. Very nice. Any chance of some pictures with other bands. I'm not a huge fan of the sport band, though I admit the combo looks really great and I'm somewhat jealous :D

$43 for this white ceramic Series 2!

They sure do not hold their value!;)

Clockwork synergy.

I have a 42mm SS Second Series AW and gave my wife a 42mm Edition for her birthday. Nobody has mentioned this, but the ceramic watch looks feminine to me. I was surprised on this thread.to see men wearing it. My wife disagrees with me, and apparently so do many other people.

I think it's androgynous and futuristic and mesmerizing.

Some will wear it better than others.

Any chance you could let me know where you found the band? And did it come with two pieces, or three? I really need the smaller size and most I've found only come with the longer band.

Thanks!
I think that is the actual Nike Band.
If it isn't it's the band I threw away because the band started to crack and the pin wouldn't stay in.

This is my latest one

Have to say
Been looking at this watch more and more and god, it's beautiful, would love to have a large print of it on a ****ing wall

Would only ever wear it with the Sport band, which doesn't bother me because the Sport band is a premium band, and was originally designed by Marc Newson for his (non Apple) watch, seen here

The price is a bit high though, gonna wait another year when they hit $300 or $500

I pick up my ceramic edition tomorrow so this is a little late...

I plan to wear it every day. I'm starting to have concerns about the durability. I've heard the ceramics are prone to cracking and chipping. Is the casing likely to be damaged by "normal" contact? Like banging into a desk or a door frame? For some reason my watches seem to be magnetically attracted to door frames :(

Any "every day" wearers experience chipping or cracking?

It is incredibly durable. I have been wearing mine daily since September 16 and it looks as good today as it did then. By comparison, my previous steel Apple Watch was covered in scratches and dents after a few months.

At the price, AppleCare+ is a no brainer though.

Replacement cost for the ceramic without AppleCare+ is seven hundred pounds more than if you have AppleCare+.

I should have mentioned that I WILL be purchasing AppleCare. I hope I won't need it.

Well I have had my edition for about a week. I'll already given it 2 pretty hard whacks on doors. No damage. Very happy so far
