What difference does it really make?

There is a lot of nervous energy being spent on here (yeah I am here too). But been through this enough with other Applie releases. Apple’s estimated delivery dates are generally very solid. Only once did I have a one day delay. Apple has more info than UPS is sharing. Many of the “still in Shanghai” people I bet your stuff is in transit and they are moving under a bulk (i.e. pallet) shipping number. Internally UPS knows where it is but the tracking details are not posted.

Mine is still “Preparing to ship” but still shows on Apple site for delivery Friday. I am confident they are moving but we won’t see tracking info until it clears Canada Customs. Once it finally shows up, then all the past scans will show. It has happpened before.

This is so true, every year same stuff different folks. One year people were bombarding UPS customer service, I felt so bad for them. I can imagine what those calls were like "Yea UPS? How dare you do your job and get it to me on time but not tell me every 20 minutes where it is in your system. THE NERVE! UPS SUCKS' Get a grip. Apple told you Friday, UPS says Friday, stop sweating the details..YOUR device is just another box in the system. It'll make it, enjoy the sunshine...

Tracking it is part of the fun of preordering for a lot of people. I agree that calling UPS about delayed scans is pointless and creates negative energy, but there's nothing wrong with people getting together to share the experience of waiting for a delivery.

180 years ago people used to get excited in small towns and gather together to greet the Wells Fargo Wagon when it came to town with deliveries.

Now it's people from around the world gathering on the internet to watch the deliveries go around the globe.

No idea what to make of this shipment progress:
Shenzhen, China 09/18/2018 9:00 P.M. Departure Scan
09/18/2018 8:00 P.M. Export Scan
09/18/2018 8:00 P.M. Origin Scan
China 09/18/2018 10:49 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

So it departed Shenzhen BEFORE it was ready for UPS? And it left Shenzhen @ 9:00 PM 9/18, but it's now after 4:00 AM on 9/20 there. So how are there not any further updates? None of that makes any sense.

Very true - Don't disagree at all don't get me wrong. I'm here too! ...but there has to be some common sense bounds. The FOMO seems to drive digital panic unnecessarily and it looks silly with a little basic logic.

new departure scan, coming to los angeles,CA
Shanghai, China 09/20/2018 1:22 A.M. Departure Scan

I wouldn’t count on it. I’m guessing you didn’t put in your zip code when you did the tracking by reference number, so it is showing another order that only differs from yours by only the last 2 digits. A few other people have encountered the same issue.

I hope I’m wrong with that because I’m in the same delivery window as you and it would give me a little glimmer of hope that my watch might come early. While it has happened before for people, I’m not expecting much as it seems there was minimal availability of stainless steel watches for release day delivery.
i think your right. I think those last two digits that people are leaving out is what distinguishes each person...

Unfortunately can't do both because I have gift cards I need available to use for purchase.
Order with a credit card. If you can get one in store you can cancel it. If not you can take the shipment to the Apple store, return it, and purchase with gift cards. I’m in the same position and this was the recommendation from Apple.

Does anyone know when Best Buy orders will be shipped out? Estimated delivery is on Friday, so if they send it tomorrow I'm hoping for overnight shipping! It's my first Apple Watch, so I'm definitely quite excited!

Does anyone know how the reference works if you have more than one package coming off one order? I have two watches with different dates...

Also have a phone coming, which I found with my phone number. (Expensive day...)

Looks like UPS87 leaves Anchorage in about 4.5 hours. Yay! Now if my phone tracking would update...

It looks like UPS81 is the one which left Shanghai and is enroute to Anchorage? It’s due to land in about an hour so we should be getting an arrival scan in AK soon if that’s true.

Then the next flight would be UPS87 from Alaska to Louisville at 19:30 AKDT (20:30 PDT)

When it leaves anchorage you won’t get a Louisville scan till they start processing them to go to their final destination, mine is still showing en route to Louisville from this morning

UPS81 is just about to land with UPS87 following close behind...Both from Shanghai...Hopefully, should see some updates here in the next few hours...

I'll just talk to myself...

I currently have the Nike Watch S2...upgrading to the S4, Apple standard version...Thought about going with the Nike version again but honestly, it just gives you two Nike specific watch faces and integrates with the Nike Run app...which I never used anyways...Plus, the Nike versions were shipping later...So this time around, I'm just going with the standard version...Since the Nike version ships later, my guess is, right now, most people went the standard route...

Thats pretty cool finding the plane like that lol, any updates on the flight?

Pretty easy for anyone..Flightaware.com...You can search by airport, airline, destination, etc. I use it all the time to track my family and friends when they travel...But anyways, UPS81 just landed, and UPS87 is about 10 minutes out from landing...
