Series 4 Pre-order thread

I just want to know where all the 44mm stainless watches are. I ordered right when the site went live and got the 9/28-10/2 group on my SB SS 44mm. I was hoping it would get bumped to this week, now just hoping early next week.

I preordered a 44mm Gold through T-Mobile at 9am EST on 9/14. I received an alert through UPS My Choice for my tracking number at 3ish this morning with a delivery of 9/21. Normally I have it held at the Hub and pick it up in the morning, but this year I have to be at work at 9am and will be home before UPS arrive at 3pm. I’m off this weekend, so I’ll have time to play around with my watch. I also received a text from T-Mobile regarding my DIGITS number, IMEI and installment info. Normally I upgrade my phone every year, but this year I’m keeping my X and will upgrade to the XS Max next year. I also noticed this is the 3rd year that I preordered through T-Mobile after 3:01am EST and will be receiving a launch day device.

I'm sure we'll start seeing some movement in the next couple of days.

Well two of them will be here tomorrow.

Apple is very accurate on their ship date estimates. You might get it in the early part of the window but they aren’t suddenly (at least with very few exceptions) going to start blowing away the promised ship dates. In a few weeks they will either catch up.

That or people who ordered multiples in an effort to try and get one sooner will start cancelling their back up orders.

I get we all want to get them ASAP but honestly is a few extra days going to change your life that much? I was just thinking about getting the new watch. It will have Cellular which is new for me. It will have a larger face which is better for my old eyes. But at the end of the day I’ll put it on my wrist and glance at it when I need to and other than a few added functions life will be largely the same as it is with my S2 watch.

I see you also chose to pick it up at your local CC. I did the delivery change request to be at my local CC but I just got an email this morning from UPS that my watch will be delivered to my house. Do you think that's typical? Has the same thing happened to you? Just curious to know if the request takes a bit to be approved and I won't see something until tomorrow morning.

A few extra days, no. Mine says it will ship between Oct 12 - 19, and that was with an order on the first day available. The thing that frustrates me about this process is that Apple doesn't load these things up in the states and other countries during that week between Order and first Shipment.

The other part that frustrates me is putting in an order and knowing that some schlub will walk into an Apple Store and get the same model I ordered sometime before my delivery date. Honestly, I wonder why I even bother with an order that's nearly a month beyond the first ship date.

It doesn't change my life, but I'd like to get the thing I ordered before the walk-ins do.

I learned my lesson to not buy Apple releases through Best Buy. When S2 came out I preordered from Best Buy for release day delivery and the day before release there wasn't any tracking. They told me "we never received our stock" and that i would not get it on release date.

Hope this time around you'll have a better experience than I did.

😡😡 the only reason I didn’t order direct from Apple was because my local grocery chain gives 10 cents off gas for every $50 spent on gift cards, and they didn’t have apple ones. Not gonna be happy if I have to wait
 
My AT&T watch orders have changed from In Progress to Preparing to ship; still listed with a 9/21 delivery-by date, so I'm a little more relieved! I was worried there was some delay that prevented AT&T from getting their shipment.

I got "Import Scan" upon arrival at Louisville. How is that different from "Arrival Scan?"

Never mind. I figured it out.

Import Scan: This scan is an electronic record indicating the shipment has cleared import procedures in the receiving country.

Arrival Scan: This scan is an electronic record indicating the shipment has been received at a UPS facility. Shipments may travel through several UPS facilities throughout their journey. The shipment is moving; however, there may be several days between scans if the shipment is going cross-country or moving between countries.

Mine is in Louisville. 44mm Stainless Steel. 9/21 delivery.

OK, so go to an Apple store, buy one and cancel your order?

Back at the S0 pre-order my delivery was 3 months later and I ordered within 15 minutes of the pre-order. Found out that aluminum with blue sport bands were available immediate so ordered one and used it until my Space Grey arrived and sold th blue one.

Anyone with a ship date of October 15-22nd seen any change or movement? Didn't think I would get it on launch day but I was curious if I would get it sooner. 44MM Sport Silver
