Well when I first set it up I got an email notification saying around your eta, so I called them and they said I was supposed to ignore that email and they are just processing the replacement as priority. Haven’t gotten another email notification as of yet, however on the app it says processing and delivers 9th to 11th Oct.

Also my return request pending there with a date of the 11th which is when it scheduled to be picked up. I think I only get another notification when it is shipped. I will keep you posted though.
Thanks I think I will call them now

Ok so I just called Apple and they say that my delivery date of 25th Oct - 1st November stands. My order is down for fast shipping but that doesn't mean a fast build. So what they are saying is that once my watch is preparing for dispatch, it will get priority shipping and that's all. Totally sucks that they don't have replacement stock or priority replacement for faulty goods.

Yeah that does suck and sorry to hear that... I thought they said it was ready for shipping for you? And just waiting for yours to return to them?

That’s pretty crappy if it only means priority shipping...

Yeah that's what I was told last week. They said that a replacement would ship as soon as they received my watch back from UPS which they received last Friday. A few fibs there I think. Anyway let us know when yours ships.

Question. If you have your Watch replaced, are you forfeiting your 14 day return window or does that restart when you get the replacement? I ask because if my replacement has the same issue (or another), I might flat out return it and go to an aluminum.

Seems like it’s semi common on the bottom of these things. Not cool.
Hang on, you and a few other people have this (actually it was just you and one other person when you wrote that) and that makes it "semi common"?

Just back to the OP's original post, of course the watches in that video are perfect. Have you ever seen that YT vid where they show how McDonalds burgers are photographed?

If you receive a replacement watch from when you turned over your original Apple Watch back to Apple , it starts a new 14 day return period.

Mine has this too I guess lol. I can feel the diff on one side barely.

This is a non issue to me. Just for the heck of it I grabbed my Hermes series 2 and it has it too. And I swam with that watch 500 times with no issues.

I’ve got some display issues on the left edge. This is on the 44mm Nike space gray just picked up yesterday. Very noticeable when you use the Paris time lapse watch face with the night scene. The Eiffel Tower shining the light on the left side brings it out more

So I decided to check mine out as well, as the paranoia from this thread caused me too lol

My Apple Watch Series 4 in aluminum seems to be flush across all sides from what I can tell. Either that or I’m blind.

Before reading the OP I wouldn’t have bothered to ever look. I don’t think this is as big of a deal that some are making it out to be.

Here’s another pick showing some “bleeding” from the left edge. I know with oled there shouldn’t be any of that but there is definitely some kind of screen distortion. The night view from the Paris and New York timelapse watch face show it more. I opened up a case with Apple and they’re sending me a replacement unit

Spoke to customer support and was escalated to a manager who said that depending on the size of the gap, it could compromise the water resistance over time and void the warranty. No questions asked replacement. Also, seems to be a stainless steel issue, not an aluminum casing issue. Lastly, it's a visual eye-sore because the edge of the casing that isn't flush appears more silver in color than space black. To some, this is unacceptable for a $800+ product.

Guy, this isn't the light bleed thread. There's one of those too.

Yup I had that on mine plus the screen wasn’t flush on the bottom. 44 SBSS. Returned and repurchased. New one is perfect.

Finally, someone who returned and got a replacement. I’m really happy to hear you got a good one. My fear is that my replacement will have it too, maybe even worse.

Which one is normal?
Mine is also having that gap...

I just receive it yesterday...
Apple is willing to replace it.... but 3-5days before replacement comes... it bothers me as alum model i have is better fit no gap

I can’t see anything major from your pictures, it’s just a matter if it’s worth for you replacing or not. If you’re concerned about the water resistance or the manufacturing with display being uneven, then I would accept the replacement.

Actually nothing major but i can feel the bottom of the screen.. is that normal?

If you’re able to feel the separation from the casing and the display, that’s not normal. It Should be flush. But I guess it depends how severe of a gap it really is.

Ok so my SSSB 44mm replacement arrived yesterday and this one is no different as one side has a slight lip exactly the same as my first one. But I am not going to worry about it as I can’t really see it and I think it’s well within tolorence levels and everything else is perfect with no other problems that others have reported in the forum. No light bleed, no low volume issues and the crown sits nice and flush with the case so it isn’t prominent. I am just going to enjoy my new watch as it’s a great bit of kit and I have AppleCare should there be any issues further down the line.

Yeah mine should’ve been here yesterday however tnt had a delay... so it will most likely be Monday and will update when I get it.
