Mine is more obvious on the lower right side...
What i hate with gap dust might stuck there..
Earlier while using it i saw a red lint getting stuck to that gap.... it doesn’t look right for an expensive watch...

I got it too on my 44mm SS. Would have never noticed it before. I can‘t even see it with a blank eye, but I can barely feel it with my finger on the bottom side. I indeed have ocd and can‘t stop thinking about it now . But I also don‘t want to send it back, because I don‘t think it‘s a real issue.. And I guess that it will be history in few days.

I personally would not try to think too much about it, and the reality is, even if Apple were to send you a replacement watch and you send back the ‘defective’ one to them, there is still a chance that you would have a gap with that display.

As a matter fact, that actually happened to one member where they sent back their original Watch because it had a slight gap, and the replacement watch also had a slight gap.

Yep that was me and its not really an issue as the screen is perfectly aligned so I am just going to get on with it rather than play roulette and look for the perfect watch

So got my replacement today and it’s a tad bit better but not much. But not going to worry over this anymore. Just going to enjoy it. Screen and buttons seems to be good. So going to leave it at that then play the lottery!

This is the situation with my SS 44. It’s a noticeable gap on the lower edge as well as on the right and left edges. Gap on the upper side is much less noticeable using a finger nail. I think it’s within tolerance and not an issue regarding water resistance. Am I wrong?

I wouldnt bother - you dont slide your nails every day over the edges of the display. My 44mm is same, there might be some "percetly" alligned AW's, but I try to enjoy my watch instead of looking for some imperfections. I use it under the shower every single day and since it seems to be a wide spread "problem", I don't think that it affects the water resistance.

Just to show mine... mine is ever so slight, I think every one will have a slight variance in it, and I think it’s a risk getting it replaced as a replacement could be worse than what you currently have.

Looking at the edge of my iPhone XS screen the bottom of the glass is pretty much the same also, it just more obvious on the Watch considering it’s size and most carry a phone in a case which covers it up.

Just think in 12 months the series 5 will be out and for a lot of people this will be a non issue anyway.

Got mine today too. Same model and I have the same thing you’re describing. Bottom edge there’s definitely a lip while the other three sides are smooth.

Never would have noticed it and I’ll probably have forgotten about it in the morning.
I also noticed the same thing now (after reading this post). No big deal though. I keep it as is.

On that right corner looks like a chip missing?

FWIW, After a bit of googling I have found this to be something people have noticed since the original Watch, so it’s a bit hit or miss whether you will have one with a screen which is 100% flush. I think the majority of the devices probably won’t have a completely flush screen, so getting it replaced will probably have a high likelihood of the same isssue if not worse.

I don’t mind if the glass is slightly not flushed but getting something stuck is annoying me lol.

The top part is totally smooth for me, but left and right sides of the glass is slightly shorter (I can feel the steel when brushing my finger downwards).
Same for the bottom side except that it’s more pronounced.

I now have a piece of dirt stuck inbetween the gap at the bottom side, near left corner.

this was my issue with my first SS gold ..
i returned it... and bought again... actually with aluminum the screen fits better no gaps whatsoever

Just picked up a Series 4 SBSS and have noticed the bottom side of the screen on the watch body sticks out further than the top in the same area.

It’s like the screen isn’t large enough to cover the watch uniformly.

I’ve attached some pics. Does it look off?
