Who decided to go SS this year? I ordered SS Milanese loop after years having the sport/nike version.

anybody else here stick or go with SS as a new option?

I’ve been using the stainless steel since Series 3 after damaging the aluminum Series 0 and 2. Was leaning towards getting the titanium but they aren’t available for in-store purchase and I didn’t feel like waiting.

Got my AW5 SS with Milanese loop. First time for me as all my previous AW were SBSS. So far I love the more classy look but I am scared of scratches which was not the case with the SSBS carbon like coating pretty much indestructible.

Stainless steel S3, upgraded to Stainless S5... talk reasons...

1) I’ve got a lot of straps, including the link bracelet which I wear frequently.
2) I much prefer the look, and weirdly the weight - just couldn’t go back!

i know it’s a lot of extra money, but for me it’s worth it.

You can buff out the silver version and it will look brand new.

my previous concern with the space black model was that it kind of looks like just one black slab but I think the AOD will alleviate that issue. Such a tough decision!

Have had BOTH SS and SBSS in series 3 and 4 (two watches at a time). Sold my S4 SBSS but kept SS. Bought the SBSS in series 5. Wrestling with whether battery life is acceptable with AOD and noise on. But like others, I have many bracelets and straps for both, so I alternate. And never a scratch on screen, but my SS model has nice even rubs and very fine scratches all over. Can always Cape Cod polish it, but don't feel I need to. And with same wear, and for those of you debating, not a single mark on any SBSS model, ever, at all, anywhere, no matter what I did to it.

Have cellular on my SS S4 for runs, etc.

I also bought a stainless steel but it really has more to do with the sapphire glass. I’ve owned aluminum watches in the past and I hate when they get scratched up. And as someone else mentioned, now with an always on face and hands it actually looks like a watch and not a pager strapped to your wrist.

Sorry to say, if you got the standard stainless steel you're going to regret it because of all the cases it scratches the easiest . You'll have scratches within days. Titanium being the next worst.

Now, stainless steel space black on the other hand, is magnificent. It has a diamond coating and therefore does not scratch. You will see finger prints but they just wipe off.

Both the regular titanium and space black titanium scratch quite easily.

Any aluminium color and stainless steel space black are the best bang for the buck. Ceramic is extremely high quality and will never scratch. Quite expensive though. Titanium because of the price, I would say is overpriced. Apple is known to use titanium in the past so that's why they're using it now again as a materials alternative. They're not using it because it provides better watch build quality.

Opting for space black stainless (Bonus with the DLC coating on the casing), if Apple had offered the gray ceramic this year, that probably would’ve been my choice, but I just have a strong liking for the high-gloss shine with space black paired with a sapphire display. And no, resale value is not important to me [Given the stainless Plummets], aesthetics is.

lol you have the exact philosophy as I do. If you check my recent thread.

I even said the grey ceramic.

Plain SS for me upgraded from a Series 3. At first I had the Natural Titanium but was put off by the reports of scratches as my old series 3 looks pristine even after two years. Very happy.

Went with SS 40mm because I have tiny wrists and the 44mm is ridiculously chunky on me. However I didn't like how dainty it looked so I returned it for a 40mm SBSS with SB link bracelet. Even the smaller SBSS still looks masculine and the AOD really spices up an already gorgeous watch.

Why is there never any love for the Gold SS... I’m on my second one, LOVE it...

I think people either hate it or are scared of it because they have no idea how to coordinate colors with non silver metallics. I, for one, love my GSS S4 & I love the fact that I don’t see them everywhere!!

absolutely love the gold stainless but it simply just doesn’t work with as many situations as the silver or black. It’s sexy as hell though

Not working with many options is subjective, but I do agree it’s sexy as hell!! Fortunately for me, it goes with everything I like

I ordered a Gold Stainless Steel 44mm with the Pomegranate Sport Loop. I have the stainless steel silver Milanese band. I wonder how the combo will look. I do plan on purchasing the Gold Milanese band from Apple since it dropped in price to $99. I should receive the watch on Thursday
