Third SS for me after a 0 and a 3. The slight increase in screen size (40mm) is nice. My only gripe is the fact my SS3 is practically worthless on trade in. Contemplating giving it to a family member as the hassle of eBaying doesn’t seem worth it.

I went with a silver SS for the S5 after having aluminum for the S0 and S4. Still about 2 weeks from shipping to due to ordering a little late but I can’t wait.

Depending on what a hassle is for you.. Sold my S4 aluminum on swappa.com for $300 in two days! Paid like $6 paypal fee and about $7 on shipping. Sold an old aluminum s3 on there for $215 (in “fair” shape) two weeks ago.

I picked up a 44mm SS with black Sport Band today to replace my Space Grey aluminium S4. I had ordered the titanium but got cold feet at the last minute, feeling it was too extravagant. I had a SS S0 and always liked it but went for aluminium after that, promising I'd never buy another SS due to the amount of value it loses. But, both times I had aluminium, the screen scratched and that annoyed me.

Sorry to say, if you got the standard stainless steel you're going to regret it because of all the cases it scratches the easiest . You'll have scratches within days. Titanium being the next worst.

Now, stainless steel space black on the other hand, is magnificent. It has a diamond coating and therefore does not scratch. You will see finger prints but they just wipe off.

Both the regular titanium and space black titanium scratch quite easily.

Any aluminium color and stainless steel space black are the best bang for the buck. Ceramic is extremely high quality and will never scratch. Quite expensive though. Titanium because of the price, I would say is overpriced. Apple is known to use titanium in the past so that's why they're using it now again as a materials alternative. They're not using it because it provides better watch build quality.

I have both S4 SS and S5 SBSS. Love them both. True the SS gets micro scratches immediately and "rubs" as well. I use my SS for workouts, runs, and most daily wear (has cellular active). Now that it has an overall micro scratched appearance it still looks great. AND, after a few mins with a Cape Cod cloth, I can have it looking out of the box again (but I don't bother--like knowing I can do it is enough).

And the SBSS is bomb proof--so I went with it for my S5.

Had a SS0, SS2, SSSB3 then last year went Aluminium S4. So glad to go back to stainless this year. Missed it so much. I know others don't care, but to me the extra money is worth it for the premium feel, the weight and the glass.

Gone for the gold with Milanese.....it is stunning IMO.

Love it.

So I snagged an Open Box - Excellent condition Stainless Steel Space Black w/ Milanese Loop at Best Buy for 715 dollars pre tax. I also had a 15 dollar certificate, and ill get 50 dollars back in rewards for using my credit card.

So for 860 dollars total I got the watch with the milanese, the apple care, and the black nike sports band. Due to local taxes, they all would have cost 1020 dollars at the apple store. Pretty damn good savings.

Here is to hoping that the watch isnt activation locked. But I can always return to best buy if there is any problem with it so Im not worried either way. Cant wait !

This thread needs more pics. Allow me to assist. Pictured is my S4 SS on flash sport band.

Also, my S5 SBSS on:
Orange UAG strap
Midnight camo UAG strap
Ultra cheap Ebay black milanese
Bond Stripe Nato
Nomad Brown Leather modern buckle

I have quite a few straps. The SS goes great with everything, so I spared you about 50 pics!

Here you go:

I've always gone with the SS. SS S0, SBSS S3, SS S5. I really liked the SBSS but went back to SS just for the change.

Always wanted the Milanese loop and even tried it on at the store, but I've never really liked metal bands.

With the price drop, I got the Milanese loop and, you know, it's the most comfortable band I've ever had!

I guess I'm a band swapper now - will switch out for a sport band when in tshirt/shorts/flipflops.

I have always gone SS. Series 0, 3 and now 5. I like that they can be polished easily to in new condition. have also been getting the silver iPhone since the X for same reason.

SS again for me (Had SS S0, SS S2 and now SS S5). To me the smarter look and durable screen make the difference between a product I love and product I wouldn't be interested in purchasing. Theres no contest for me.

I just returned my stainless steel Apple Watch, but something weird happened. I bought the watch with a $110 gift card, and the rest on my credit card. But the entire amount was refunded to my credit card, including the gift card amount. Is this normal?

Yes. I did a return on a watch band that i paid cash with, they put the return on a gift card and then put that back into my bank account. Weird way of doing it

Got the SS S5, but damn, that gold SS with gold milanese looks so good. Debating if I should exchange it. The only thing holding me back are the straps I have that have the SS connectors.

The gold looks better than the photo, they must have used dulling spray because it is actually looks highly polished. Best looking watch on the table at the store. Fell in love with it immediately.

Finally made my decision, passing on the ceramic and opting for the black stainless, again for a third time with the Apple Watch. [The DLC coating and sapphire is a killer combination], Plus as a L.E.O, it will pair perfectly with the black uniform.

Yeah that's why I did too mate. I like the ceramic but I love the SBSS and now the AOD really enhances the "infinity/melting display" vibes of the SBSS.

I bought the SB SS Series 0 when it came out and was disappointed with Apple's support of the watch (most bands seemed focused on the regular SS). Just really had the black sportband with the black pin and the Space Black link bracelet gping for the Space Black watch. Now I'm switching to regular SS to see how the other side lives.

All my Apple watches (S0, S2, S4 and now S5) have been stainless steel. I feel it looks more premium than the others - even the Editions - and goes with every strap.
