The Touch HD has 230,000 more pixels than the iPhone, so it will be just as sharp/sharper

And this added resolution will definitely be welcome for things like web browsing. You can tilt it can get 800 pixels across - a dimension web designers were designing for just a couple years ago.

I seriously doubt that the additional resolution will be that noticeable on that size of a screen. Even 1080p vs. 1080i doesn't really start showing up until you have more than a 60" screen. Add that negligible benefit (plus the power consumption to deliver it) coupled with the ridiculously lame Windows Mobile operating system and you've got a very expensive, clunky brick, IMHO...

In addition to all the HTC Touch's, Android and Storm phones... don't forget the Garmin Nuvi sooner or later.

I'd love to get my non-techie wife the Garmin. They've shown some neat demos.

For example, being able to call her and say, "I'm going to this new restaurant, wait a second, I'll click a button to send the destination to your phone... click" and have it become her new GPS directions, is just way too cool and useful.

Plus little things, like whenever you take it out of its dashboard holder, it remembers, so you can find your way back to where you parked every time. Nice thinking.

Of course you will notice the improved resolution. Fonts look brilliant, pictures incredibly sharp, maps highly detailed and web pages readable even when zoomed out.

The dpi is 245. Thats actually a lower DPI than the Sprint Diamond, which has a DPI of 285. If you can notice it on the Diamond (and you certainly can) you will notice it on the Touch HD also. The DPI of the Diamond is in the range of a low-end inkjet printer, while the iPhone is a much lower 165 dpi.

The "ridiculously lame Windows Mobile operating system" wipes the floor with Mobile OSX when it comes to functionality, and TouchFlo3D makes it easy to use when you don't need the power.

In fact, TouchFlo3D is a real UI, while the iphone just has a grid of icons (very PalmOS 1999)
