Sorry to be confusing. I'm trying to find the serial for an iPod that I already returned just to check to see if it fit this theory. So I don't have it on hand, but I think I found it on my original purchase paperwork. Just wanted to confirm the format/number of digits to make sure I'm looking at the right one. I don't currently have the 4g because I returned two with probs.

Does this look like the serial number MCNNNLL/A? Or is this something else that I found on the receipt?

The serial number has twelve characters on it.

With all these problems, Apple should rename it the iPod don't touch 1G and tell people not to touch it; just look. :D

Nobody I know has any issues with it. Those that do will of course Google a Mac/Apple support forum to state their problems. Don't blow it out of proportion.

I just bought an 8GB touch at Costco today (gift). Guess what? Two light leaks. It's going back; and I'll keep exchanging it until I get one without a light leak.

BTW, Mr Green Smiley Face didn't tip you off that my remark was sarcasm?
