As a former Android guy who's used to bigger phones and don't really care about one-handed usage or pocket friendliness, I can never ever go back to a sub 5 inch smartphone. I find it crippling.

The battery life on the 6S isn't that great compared to the 6S Plus.

6S+ is the way to go. It's not that big and I'm not sure if I'm the minority but I'm still able to use it with one hand.

Better battery + OIS is already a deal breaker.

Where did you read/hear that apple wants developers to create apps that just scale up or down to whatever device they're running on? Designing apps that specifically for phones and versions specifically for tablets is what seperated apple tablets from android tablets.

Phone apps are designed to be used generally with one hand. I think most 6+ users are using the + with two hands which is why iPad apps on the + would make sense.

Of course is not mandatory to create universal apps and is perfectly fine to create an iPhone only app.
Apple has been encouraging the use of size classes since their introduction to avoid apps written for a particular iPhone in mind. Many of the apps in the store are designed for iPhone 5 and 5s and are scaled on 6 and 6+ so they're not taking advantage of the screen real estate.

iPad apps wouldn't make sense on the iPhone 6+, I mean not ALL the apps. The majority of them were designed with the iPad in mind and iPad's resolution isn't change since the beginning (expect for the retina).
If you run an iPad app on the 6+ is going to be scaled and that's bad user experience, except for the apps designed with size classes that can adapt to different screen sizes.
That's why Apple is pushing for the adoption of size classes, so you will be able to have some feature of the iPad's version of an app available on the 6+ as well

I went from 6 to 6s Plus. I think screen size-wise the Plus is better (And honestly - the plus NEEDS picture in picture like the iPad. Come on Apple.) But body size wise the 4.7" is better. I think ultimately a ~5.1" 1080P display in a phone slightly larger than the 6 would be ideal for me. I doubt we will get that though, so in that case just give me my 6s Plus but with reduced top and bottom bezels (And eliminate the tiny amount of side bezel before the glass curves.)

I really am debating getting a plus just for the battery alone. My 6s battery is barley better than my 5s.

Don't worry, they'll be back to the Plus after a few weeks with that smaller battery. Also I need to compensate for something so I need the bigger phone, lol.

I had the 6 and now the 6s. Im seriously considering exchanging it for the 6s+ I just wish is was so damn wide. But i really wanted the bigger screen and longer battery life. I hope the iPhone 7 is a 5 or 5.1' screen. That would be perfect.

Yes. Many not aware of this, including myself until it was correct about the 6plus last year.

Incorrect. OIS works on pictures too, although usually only at low light. It grants a slightly better photo in low light due to allowing the shutter to stay open slightly longer.

I know this wasn't true with the 6 plus, though there were claims it made a difference, it was ultimately not correct. I'm not aware of any change with the newer phones.

Edit: I was mistaken. I got things mixed up :(
It was stills that had it in the 6 plus, NOT video. Apparently it has been bunkers to video as well with the 6s plus though. Apologies.

I agree that the Plus is no replacement for a tablet. The few concessions made to its larger size are not enough to replace the iPad, but I would argue that if one has a Plus, an iPad Air will be a better companion than an iPad Mini.

I heartily disagree that the Plus is a bad phone though. It does everything the 6 does and more, especially in this year's s line. Yes, sometimes it's tricky doing things one-handed, but I quickly adapted to the size of the phone and wouldn't consider going back down to a smaller size at this point. It's great for gaming, reading, web surfing, all sorts of things. The 6s is very good at those things too, but the larger size of the screen and higher resolution make the Plus even better for those applications, and the increased battery life is fantastic.

The great thing is that Apple isn't forcing us into one or the other, the only people who feel unhappy are the ones who don't want a screen larger than 4". Everyone else can take their pick and decide what's most important to them. To me, the Plus fits in my pockets fine, it works as a one-handed device fine the vast majority of the time, and when it has to be used two handed, the many benefits outweigh the few cons for me. For someone else, portability and one-handed use may be key, in which case the 6s is the phone for them.
The biggest issue I have with it is that Apple gives it a couple premium features like a higher PPI display (not as big a deal to me personally) and OIS (I really want that). I think we'll get higher PPI in the next iPhone across the line at true @3X. But I wish Apple wouldn't hold back features for the sake of holding back features just because I prefer one screen size over the other. I'm willing to pay more to have the best iPhone—but they're not willing to sell me one in a decent size.

I hope someday we will get an iPhone Pro. Just stack it full of crazy features and specs, make it a little thicker with a bigger battery. Call the other one the iPhone Air and make it stupid thin but still capable. Done! Haha.

All of you who laughed at Android users for their big "phablet" phones a few years ago. Look at you now.

I used to have a Galaxy Note II, it was a great phone for the time. I was sick of Android though and came back to the iPhone and dealt with the smaller screens, but all the time I was yearning for a return to the larger screens, so as soon as the Plus was announced I jumped on it.

I don't think the difference in screen size between the 6s and 6s Plus is as huge as we make it. That's probably why you weren't bothered by the size reduction. The 6s's display is still big enough to offer a similar enough experience, and has the advantage of being much more portable.

As someone with a 6s Plus, I can see myself reverting to a 4.7" display next time, but definitely not any smaller. That said though, the Plus is totally ace.

Used both. Went with the plus. It just looks nicer in terms of not all my icons are bunched up. The battery and OIS is a plus as well.

I had both a 6 and a 6+ but with the new phones I just got the 6s+. I can't use a smaller screen for more than a day without missing it.

I have 10 more days to decide before they launch here in Dubai. I currently use a 5" phone as my daily driver. To be frank, it's human nature that once we get used to s particular size phone, it's very difficult to go down to a smaller size later as our eyes get used to seeing things in that particular size and we just want to better it..

Take the case of any display items.. TVs, laptops etc.. Nobody can go back to owning a 32" tv after experiencing a 40" tv for a while. You would either want to maintain the same size or go a level above.

So coming to our phones, no Apple owners would now like to go back to a 4" or 3.5" after using a 6 unless there are other factors involved like design or portability. So it's all about what's more important to you - display experience or portability..

Hope I make up my mind before 10th

I made the switch from iPhone 6Plus to iPhone 6s and I do not regret it. The one thing I miss is the battery life but the 6s' battery life is not that bad considering I also use an Apple Watch.

I had a 6 plus. Too big in my pocket when I'm out in the garden. Turned it in and started using
my iPhone 5, waiting for the new phones. The 6s to me is the perfect size and it doesn't look small
to me since I have been using the iPhone 5 for 4 months.
