iPad apps wouldn't make sense on the iPhone 6+, I mean not ALL the apps. The majority of them were designed with the iPad in mind and iPad's resolution isn't change since the beginning (expect for the retina).
If you run an iPad app on the 6+ is going to be scaled and that's bad user experience, except for the apps designed with size classes that can adapt to different screen sizes.

It's not consistent.

Why does it make sense to have stock ipad style IOS apps(mail, etc.) be allowed to be viewed in landscape mode on the 6+ but not allow third party apps(ipad) designed to be viewed in landscape mode?

It makes more sense for a UI designed for 2 handed use to be scaled down for a device that is used with 2 hands vs a UI designed for single handed use scaled up to a device designed to be used with 2 hands.

hubby has the 6s while I stayed with the plus version and got the 6s+.... every time I do something with his phone it seems so small to me....

unless they stop making plus versions... I'm hooked and will NOT go back!

What will you do if next year Apple drops the 4.7" and 5.5" phones and comes out with a single 5.1"-5.2" screen?

The 6s is so nice coming from a 6 Plus. Getting a mophie juice pack air to compensate for battery.

If one prefers the size of the 6s much more I would not understand why they flat out just don't get a battery pack. Easy peasy. If you say that is a concession well my counter is you conceded on something you didn't have to AND now have something much less portable to carry when not in use.

Understandable if there were others reasons for the Plus but these posts "just for the battery life itself" are really puzzling when the solution is so simple.

Why buy something that makes your phone needlessly thick when you can get a thin phone that has a beautiful 1080p screen? See, it cuts both ways.

Because people here haven stated they wouldn't mind extra thickness if it gives them better battery life.

It's the width and height of the device that bothers some people. Less so the thickness.

See, it cuts both ways.

Hmmm, more heft with battery pack, smaller screen size, worse camera and resolution... Yep, you convinced me, 6S it is!

;)

I see you missed the point. For SOME, the smaller screen size, therefore, smaller form factor, is more desirable than something that's so wide it can be uncomfortable to use.

If you use the $100 you save getting a 6S over an S Plus you can buy a pretty good battery case that'll give you more on-time before running out of juice.

And the camera isn't a deciding factor for everyone. Especially since it's hard to tell the differences in photo quality at a glance between last year's models and this year's models.

6s much better on a night out. Fits in small handbags or pockets, easy to nip out and take a photo. I moved back to the smaller 6s from the 6 plus. I really like the Galaxy s6 screen and phone size.

I honestly have to say coming from a 5s to a 6s I love it! It feels so comfortable in my hand! My wife has a 6plus which feels like I'm holding a laptop plus my battery life is amazing

I think you're the one missing the point. The people who are saying they prefer the Plus for the battery life alone seem to be people who really like ALL the features of the Plus, but the battery life is so good that even if the other features weren't there, they'd still prefer the Plus. However, the added features are there, making the decision easy for those people. If your top priority is portability and one-handed use, then obviously the Plus isn't for you. However, if battery life is your top priority, and size isn't as much of an issue, then the Plus looks a lot better.

My main concern is the lack of OIS. Low power mode in iOS 9 works pretty well for preserving battery.

I don't even see a technological reason why they had to exclude OIS from the 6s... The camera/lens is the same size in both.

I would never buy a 6s without OIS. Also, I watch way too many sports games and movies and need the bigger screen.

Isn't all the OIS concern a little overblown? There is still DIS in the 6S video when you shoot in 1080p. And everyone here says 4K is worthless anyways. I doubt most users will find much difference in their videos and pictures between the two.

used a 6 and 6+ last year. i loved my 6+ so much but somehow just found the 6S+ more difficult to use even with the apple leather case. as much as i love my 6S+ i feel like it kinda defeats the purpose of 3d touch. to me it's supposed to make things faster with shortcuts etc. and even the new way to "go back" to the app you were in before. even with reachability i find myself using these new features and ios tricks a lot less which just defeats the purpose. considering the 6s just so i can take full advantage of these.

one small thing i've noticed between using my 6s+ front flash and my friend's 6s's front flash- since the plus has a bigger screen it illuminates the screen a lot more/better than the regular 6s so that's one feature i guess i'll miss if i do downsize to the 6s

also, i wanna be able to put my phones in cool cases so the 6s has that as a pro and 6s+ has that as a con. putting a case on the + just makes it unwieldy.

in the end its personal preference

Hmm it's so hard to decide between these two !!
I recently upgraded to a 6S from a Iphone 5 which I thought at first would be the best decision but now I am strongly reconsidering buying the 6 +. I was always that guy who said 'Uhh bigger phones are ****' but now I am seeing that you can really get used to it and start to love it.

In the end I might stick to my iphone 5 and wait for the 7 + with tiny bezels.

I agree with OP. The only thing i'm really noticing/missing going from the 6 Plus to the 6S is the battery life.

The OIS does produce a less blurry/noisy result.

For still images? Are there some results that show this?

This obviously depends on how steady you are when you take a shot but in my experience OIS helps make shots a bit less blurry. DIS isn't going to help as much for photos.
