It's too bad Apple didn't provide some sort of control over the volume on these things so these "issues" could be avoided.

Oh, wait . . .

I don’t think this is an iPhone X issue only. I think it is all of the newer iPhones. The 8+ did this. My wife’s X doesn’t do it though.

ok you must have a hardware problem then since the speakers of the iphon x and 8 are best in class (until razer phone) even at max
Obviously it was a joke about the quality of TS music in general LOL

This phone has been nothing but issue after issue since it's unveiling. Honestly, it just comes across as a cheap Chinese Galaxy knock off at this point. Especially with that horrendous display intrusive notch. It's still shocking that Apple users have accepted such a horrible design feature. These are the same users who have for years touted Apple's smart and practical designs. How can anyone continue to make excuses for this extremely overpriced device. Consumers need to expect much more and much better from any OEM when handing over their money, or they just end up ruining it for the rest of us. By that I mean, the OEM realizes they can put their brand on any piece of junk and sell it because of the blind follower they have locked in ready to buy no matter what. SMH.
Do you even have one?
My X has had zero issues. It has been nothing but a pleasure of having one since day one.

I got this problem on my X. Hope it’s just a software issue like the iPhone 8 buzzing.

It’s not a new iPhone until we find a gate! Where’s the iPhone X gate?
There are so many...
Price gate.
Size gate.
Face gate.
Swipe gate.
Waiting for the X+ gate.
Complaining because I can gate.
Steve never would have gate.
I live in my parent’s basement but somehow know more about growing the most successful company on the planet than Tim Cook gate.
Can’t understand why everyone doesn’t think exactly like me gate.
And let’s not forget the “I actually really like my X gate” gate.

I'm not dismissing the complaint nor downplaying the crackle issue, but who the heck is listening to music through their phone speakers these days?

It’s a shame so many people are being affected by issues with the X.

Of course it’s an unfortunate but inevitable truth that there’s going to be a percentage of devices with problems. There’s no such thing in manufacturing as a 0% failure rate, mores the pity.

I suspect it’s just all the worse for people with problematic devices due to the price of the X.

But on the bright side, Apple does have some of the best customer support I’ve ever experienced, so hopefully anyone with a problem will get a replacement post haste.

I’m thankful mine hasn’t had any issues whatsoever so far, usually I’d be one of the unlucky ones. Of course now that I’ve said that I’ve jinxed it, so something is bound to go wrong :D

Aside from listening to music, The cracking Likely would be noticeable for speaker calls if you had the volume up. That I would find annoying, because I use my speaker phone for almost all my phone calls.

To all the people saying "don't turn it to max setting", it should not crackle at any setting if Apple had selected good components and calibrated the settings not to push the speakers into a volume/frequency that can cause sound issues. This is not some 20-year-old Honda Civic where some teens put together random speakers and hooked them up to a 5000Watt amplifier. Company of Apple's calibre should have a team whose sole job is to test all the sound components to make sure that they function superbly in most common use cases such as listening to music, using the speakerphone feature, etc.

Just don’t get the haters out here hoping apple fails big time.
It’s a redesign phone and there is gonna be issues out of 50 million phones they made. We should be thankful Apple has one of the best after sales service and they will stand behind their product. Imagine it’s an an LG phone, good luck to mail your phone in for service and wait 2-4 weeks without a phone.

But let’s stick it on the front page because it will be a good way to get clicks on a Sunday.
I don't think there's anything wrong with highlighting the issue, even if it is isolated.

Apple had to outright fix a similar issue with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in iOS 11.0.2…

There were several users commenting about why MacRumors hasn't covered this story yet, so clearly we can't please everyone.

Good point, headphones are more common but the fact that we are on page 7 or 8 of this thread and we can't even get MacRumors to report on it is crazy

To be fair, for a $1000+ the least you'd expect from Apple is a replacement or an acknowledgement of the issue with a promise of a fix.
Though, to be fair, this is an extremely recent issue. I frequent the forums hourly (ashamed to admit) yet this is the first I’ve heard of it. I’m sure Apple would also like to confirm the issue internally and begin a bug fix as well before issuing a statement. You’ve seen how the public jumps on ridiculously small issues.

Why even post this? Furthermore, Why wouldn't the editors make others aware of the possible issue? There are over 200 posts on the iPhone X crackling thread, it's clearly a somewhat relevant discussion amongst other users on Macrumors and other tech sites.
