Quick pics of the SGP Neo Hybrid matte satin silver case, sorry not the greatest pics but i tried to snap it as fast as i could before work. I didnt install the ultra crystal protector that came with it, because i already had their EX ultra crystal full body.

The fit was really tight, probably because i had the sgp side protection on, but i managed to get it on eventually. the side button is a tad off alignment but everything else seems perfect. It really cant slide off, its that tight. lock button is silent and kinda hard to press but the volume button is good.

Feels great, love the back. Most importantly looks great and so I'm gonna use it for awhile and see how it holds up.

Hope my quick review helped those interested.

Is the back pure silicone (i.e. a lint magnet) like the black Otterbox Defender's outer layer/SwitchEasy's Colors cases/etc? Or is it another material? Do you notice if it's picking up lint or not?

looks good, has is the quality? seem cheaply made or solid?

Think it will handle a fall from waist height?

quality is good, although im curious to see how the matte paint holds up over time.

Nic pics, looks like a quality case. Is the polycarbonate frame flimsy because that's the way it seemed in their installation video?
polycarbonate frame seems sturdy, i had to use a bit of force to put it over the silicone because I had the side protection strips that added to the bulk

Is the back part silicon aswell? or is it plastic?
silicone

And the all important question: what's the headphone port like? Can i plug my 3rd party headphones in with this case on?
i have the sennheiser px100 no problem, snaps in. apples headphones work of course.

Wow, it looks really nice! But I'm a little concerned about the hard power button. Do you think it's harder to push or just as hard to push as the Speck PixelSkin HD version 2?
dont have the pixelskin, but the button is silent when pushed. no clicks, it doesnt have a feel of a pushed button. But the volume buttons click ok.

I had the otterbox commuter on my bb, and this material (whatever it is) is different from the otterbox. doesnt lint up as much, but might scratch up a little easier.

Mine Cracked Day One

I received my silver neo hybrid matte yesterday. One day with the charger and it cracked. Will post pictures in minutes.

With the Apple charger? Not encouraging hearing that it broke already. Hopefully that doesn't become a recurring theme as more people get the cases.

I had this issue at first. It kept trying to power off my phone, actually. I had to wiggle it around a bit and now it clicks perfectly, feels and sounds like a button again. I love how easy the volume buttons click, also.

I had a hard time getting the frame over the silicone! It's so thin I was sure I was going to break it. It's definitely not a case I want to take off and on a lot.

aww man this is really disappointing. i had such high hopes for this case. how did it manage to crack with the charger?

That doesn't look silver...

Still, disappointing that it broke so easily. I really, really, really wanted one. :(

A little more explanation please. That plastic is bent pretty badly all the way across the connector slot. What happened exactly? You must have applied substantial force to do that. Why? And why didn't you stop when you felt an unreasonable amount of resistance? How did the connector on the Apple charger hang up on the case? There doesn't seem to be much to snag the case. Was the connector slot on the case too small for the connector? Did you force it in?

My best guess is that the charger port didn't fit exactly. It plugged in fine it was when I went to remove it. It wouldn't let go. Seems to have got caught. Was in hurry and yanked it out. Didn't jar time to take the case off etc. Anyway it is nothing more then a plastic ring around the phone you can easily squeeze with one hand. Maybe the ex will be better. Yes it is silver. Anymore questions feel free to ask.

I also ordered one in Satin Silver the day it was first released. Like some, I thought smf72's wasn't the silver but the gunmetal one. Could be the ligting though.

Sad to see it broke, but he didn't give us more details on how that happened. I guess he has his reasons for it and he is leaving it up to people's imagination and interpretation. I bet some might think it breaks as soon as you put it on, but I doubt that's what happened.

It looks to me too that he was probably using a fatter, non-Apple iPhone 4 charger that wouldn't fit properly and he forced it in - based on how the plastic is bent even on the unbroken side. I think if this case is used properly, it will last just fine. He can't really expect something this thin to be as strong as his Vapor case or as flexible as a silicon case at the same time. (Actually, the Vapor case is much worse as it costs around $100 and apparently blocks 99% of the signal lol.)

However, this is just my impression from his and SGPstore's photos. I will only get the full picture once I received and looked at mine.

Thanks, now we know what actually happened.

You are all making one big assumption and that is that the band that goes around is strong. I can tell you it is not by a lot. Apple bumper is sturdier and that's saying something.

Here are some pics of the EX in yellow. I'll start off by saying that I think it looks nice. The color is sharp and it stands out, which is what I was looking for. However, there unsurprisingly are negatives.

First impressions are that the silicone layer feels quite cheap, nothing impressive. The outer polycarbonate frame is just like the one that comes with the Neo Hybrid Matte case. It is very flexible and to be perfectly honest I'm not surprised that the dock connector area broke for the other person. The frame is so thin in that area that if you take the case off the wrong way enough times I get the feeling that area will break off.

Both layers fit snugly around the phone and it was slightly difficult to get the outer frame over the last corner of the phone but I guess it's good because that ensures it's not going to fall off at any point. I wouldn't expect this case to provide much drop protection (if any) and although I don't have an Apple bumper, my sense is that those are thicker so they'd absorb a drop better than the EX. Conceivably I could see the outer frame on the EX cracking if dropped on a hard surface from any decent distance.

All of the buttons are very responsive, no issues with hitting the sleep/wake or changing the volume. The vibrate switch is slightly deep in there so it's kind of difficult to reach. The headphone cutout is very unforgiving so I suspect most third party headphones will not work (my Scosche headphones barely fit). For the 30-pin dock connector, it's cut almost precisely for the Apple connector and nothing else so good luck trying to fit anything else in there.

I haven't tried taking the case off yet. I'm guessing it won't be easy and I'm not sure how to approach that yet but we'll see soon enough. All in all, the case looks very nice but I was expecting better for $30.

And four more pictures. Sorry they aren't the greatest quality but they should be sufficient.

Yeah smf72, I also thought when I saw SGP's first installation video that the Apple Bumper would probably be stronger as it's a one piece design and that's probably somewhat thicker too. My expectations were adjusted to that before I ordered though. Apple's just didn't appeal to me as I heard it gets loose on the sides, the headphone cutout isn't large enough, was only available in black and didn't like that the shiny part wasn't going all the way around. I got the Speck Fitted from Apple's free case antenna f-up program instead, which is very nice but makes the phone too bulky to my liking.

We'll see, I have high hopes for this as I'm quite easy on my smartphones, covered or not.

Got my Yellow EX today. And, yes, yellow plastic is flimsy. Wouldn't offer much protection from drops, but then, I wouldn't expect one from any cases without a back cover. The cutouts are almost perfect. Buttons have easy clicking feel. Case is pretty tight and I don't notice any movements. And, most importantly, works with my SGP Ultra Clear Front and Back Protectors. After owning Bumper, Belkin Vue, Scosche Bandedge, Incase Snap and Belkin Micra, this is my favorite case so far.

Was going to post pictures, but maverick86 (above) were much better than from my crappy camera.

Thanks for the great photos and impressions, maverick86. I will also post mine when it arrives. I think the trick to the installation is to put the last two corners - bottom corners - on at the same time, as per their installation video. Definitely won't be the easiest case to install.

I got mine today and it is going back. The case feels like junk and there is way too much play in the silicon part. Oh well, back to being caseless!

I ordered mine (Satin Silver) on Wednesday night and it said shipped on Thursday. Was pretty surprised I expect I'll get it on Monday as I live in the midwest. I'm pretty stoked about it. I may post a photo and mini review as well. Stay tuned.

Those look awesome and I was considering buying one but at the same time they look like a huge disappointment, and very cheap. Good concept though.

I got the silver one as well. I think it is the nicest SLIM case I have tried, and I have tried a lot.

Yes, it is thin and may appear to be "flimsy", but that is because it is very low profile. I like the two pieces. I don't think you would be able to get the case one if it was all one piece. The TPU is very thin, so you need to be careful.

If you want a smart looking case that is very thin, this one is nice.

Can of the Silver owners who got theirs already confirm whether or not its actually silver or is it just a light grey? From the photos it seems to look like the actual metal band around the iPhone. That is what I was hoping for.
