I just installed the Ultra Optics film on my iPhone 4 last night and I have to say that it is easily the best screen protector that I have ever installed on one of my phones. It takes very little away from the retina display and I haven't had to wipe a fingerprint off of it yet.

I had posted in another thread that I was getting absolutely sick of screen protectors because everyone that I had tried was just making the iPhone 4 screen look like crap. This was absolutely going to be my last attempt at trying one.

I highly recommend it.

give it 1-2 weeks. you will probably start hating it, like a few of us did.

Oh yeah heres some pics:

Nice looking case, what is that called?

I have the Power Support Anti-Glare and you get used to it after a while. After seeing some reviews for the SGP Ultra-Oleophobic i'm considering switching...

Otterbox commuter.

Had the SGP Ultra Optics for a couple of days now and pretty satisfied so far!

Doing a good job keeping fingerprints off but we'll see how it does after a couple of weeks.

It does make a zippy sound if you run your fingers on it fast but it doesn't bother me at all.

Clarity is superb! I would rate it at 95% the clarity of the Retina Display! I've attached a picture of how the screen looks with it on.

Used them for a week plus. I didn't quite like it because the screen protectors gets cloudy and rainbow effects start showing despite wiping it down with water.

Have them for 2 months.

Pros: Very thick, very sticky, quite scratch resistant, good fit, 100% clarity.
Cons: Price, must use water spray to install, otherwise dust are impossible to remove due to stickyness, minimal oleophobic effect after 2 weeks.

I have some HALO brand screen protector from amazon.com and they are quite similar, SGP one is sightly thicker but the oleophobic effect goes after few weeks.

hmm this film is not sticky at all, and doesn't have oleo coating...

hi andyx3x, how was your experience?

I'm still liking it, but I do have the problems mentioned in this previous post:

"With this screen protector it's not a matter of easily wiping away any fingerprints/oil. You really have to rub at it to make the stuff go away and even then it's more than likely going to just smudge more. And when the protector is all smudged up and everything, it looks terrible."

It's not easy sometimes to wipe off the fingerprints and this may become more annoying to me over time, but at this point, it's still not a dealbreaker.

Just use a cleaning solution like iKlear every few days or something. It won't come off easy if you're rubbing with your fingers or a dry shirt, though.

I think the issue several people (myself included) have with this product is that you have to do this at all. Instead of the best of both worlds - clarity and anti-fingerprint, it is really the worst of both - less clarity than crystal and not anti-fingerprint at all.

If you have to wipe fingerprints and use a cleaning solution anyway, what's the point of an anti-fingerprint protector? That's why I went back to a crystal...

This.

The only difference is that I'm still using the sp because I don't want to spend more money needlessly. And I will say that of all the protectors I've used, this is the only one where I've had any parts chip away (2 small gouges on the left-hand side of the screen).

I still like this screen protector, but it's bugging me a little too much that fingerprints still do get on it and you really have to put some effort into cleaning them off.

I've gone ahead and ordered a set of the Ultra Fine AF screen protectors and am going to try those again. They really do keep the fingerprints off and are very easy to clean if need be. I'm willing to sacrifice some clarity in the retina display for a true 100 percent AF screen protector.

I still thank the Ultra Optics is a great product but I'm just ready to try something else.

Well, I've gone back to the Ultra Optics screen protector for the iPhone 4S. It was either this or the Ultra Fine and while the UF is much better than the original SGP anti-fingerprint screen protector, it still dulls the retina display just a little too much for me.

I'm going to try and live with the eventual smudging of the Ultra Optics but just in case. I bought two sets in the event that I want to replace it every 3-4 months or so.

I would still say this is my favorite screen protector out there and I have tried them all(SGP, Power Support, Zagg).

Those SGP Ultra optics are great! I use them on my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2! A little pricy...but great!

Just added today to my 4S.

This is easily the best AF so far, and it was the easiet to apply. No bubbles, no dust.

Did have to increase brightness a tiny amount.

Overall...worth buying/trying.

do you all get use to the spectrum effect when viewing a light source reflected in the film? Kind of Christmas colors... the red and green. I've never had this on any other film, anti-glare or crystal. I assume the crystal SGP would not have this?

All anti-glare films have that rainbow effect at normal viewing angle. Crystal films do not.

This is not a film but more of a lens.

I frankly, have not noticed any rainbow effect.

Installed on my 4S & instantly disliked the effect on the retina display.

Images felt blurred & nothing was as sharp as before.

The zippy noise whenever i moved my finger across the screen began to drive me mad.

Removed & replaced with a SGP Ultra Crystal which i love.

Both screen proctors are high quality & easy to install, i just was not happy with the effect Ultra Optics had on screen quality!!!

The very best screen protector that doesn't show bubbles, doesn't ruin the tactile feedback, and very, very clear is...

No Screen Protector.

My No Screen Protector is over a year old and looks like new.

www.noscreenprotector.com

At only $0.00 per unit, it simply can't be beat. :)

(nm - thought I had the Ultra Optics but I have the Ultra Fine)

Subjective, as "best" always is for any topic. No need to threadcrap if you prefer not using one.

I personally like my Power Support Crystal. Yes it shows prints like mad but it's ultra clear and smooth (just like glass) and I know I can now wipe it on anything to clean it and not worry about scratches or abrasions. Screw microfiber!
