Everyone has iPhones on the brain...

Little tidbit of information that amused me, the most searched phrase for this month so far is "iPhone buy now or wait" :)

And while I'm posting in here - 42,000 searches served :cool:

This sort of stuff interests me for some reason, thought it might others too. I'll try to remember to post a few stats at the end of each month.

Really good so far, every month this year as seen some growth. More searches = less repeat threads! ...still a long way to go :rolleyes: ;)

Just one point about MRoogle. Is it possible to order one's search results by date? Unless I am missing something I can't see a way to do it and it is annoying having a result from 2003 next to one in 2009. A lot of queries are date specific as technology changes so fast.

I don't think Google let you sort by date. What you can do though is run your query and set the time period to run it against.

I'm an analyst at heart so stats always amuse me! ;) My friend runs a site dedicated to lost or rarely used words, one of the more entertaining things he posts is some of the odd search terms used to find his site. Some are very strange and some would probably get you banned here for posting them, but all are quite an amusing read.

Perhaps you could post say a top five weird searches on MRoogle too.

Hey edesign, is there anyway you can share the code that's in your signature?

Might help the adoption rate if it's already pre-compiled for everyone :D

(I did do a search using MRoogle for "MRoogle code" but couldn't find anything of use)

Spread the word - link to MRoogle in your signature

If you'd like to help spread the word a pre-formatted signature can be found here :)
;) :)

Good idea that man :cool:

This is the exact code I use, of course anyone is welcome to change it to suit them.
Code:
[plain][RIGHT][size=1]Can't find what you're looking for? [URL="http://mroogle.*************"][FONT="Garamond"][SIZE="3"][B][COLOR="Red"]M[/COLOR][COLOR="Blue"]R[/COLOR][COLOR="Green"]o[/COLOR][color="#e0de1f"]o[/COLOR][COLOR="Blue"]g[/COLOR][color="#e0de1f"]l[/COLOR][COLOR="Red"]e[/COLOR][/B][/SIZE][/FONT][/URL] it![/size]
[I][SIZE="1"][COLOR="Silver"]Advanced MacRumors searching using Google.[/COLOR][/SIZE][/I][/RIGHT][/plain]
I had previously asked a couple of people who linked to MRoogle to use the link http://t.*************/t/4, I'm not worried about this now and would really rather they just went directly to http://mroogle.*************. The previous URL was just a basic click counter to get an idea how much it was used. I have a feeling most that use it now have it bookmarked so this stat is essentially worthless :p

I edited this in to a post above, but I also added a member search option :)

I end up searching my username with a subject since I've probably already answered something again and again and again....

Oh jesus, thanks edesign and alphoad, I feel pretty stupid for missing that one :p

EDIT: Gah, it goes over the 300 character limit :( I really wish we had a higher limit, it's so restricting)

edesignuk,

To address the comment above, I know you've already commented on this thread, but could you please try to pull some strings and get some action? I know you're no longer a mod, but you've gotta still have some contacts. All we really want is a [MRoogle] tag. Thanks man - Eric

oh, they won't listen to me, best thing is if anyone that supports the idea goes and posts in that thread again. :)

Love your BBC search feature ala MRoogle. I always thought that the BBC built-in seach feature was rubbish. Very useful!

Thanks :)

It was something I'd been thinking about for a while. As you say, I've always found BBC's own search to be next to useless. Yesterday afternoon finally took the time to put it together.

Articles that were only posted as little as 10 minutes ago on the BBC can already be found in Better BBC Search (Google! :p), so it's very up to date too.

Anyway, back on topic... :) Keep MRoogling! :D

I'm forbidden from seeing the average searches per day on mroogle? Why am I getting a 403 error on it? Just like xxxx gives me:D

Does the top query included similar searches or is it only what you say it is and nothing else (even if it changes by a single letter?)
