No idea, but I don’t see why not. I’m pretty certain it’s an artificial restriction placed by Apple just like the Home Screen icon ordering. I’ve submitted a suggestion, and hope you will too!
Yeah I couldn’t figure out whether that was a bug or a feature. Seems like they could let it animate for however many seconds the Lock Screen stays lit without much battery impact.
How much of the number do you need to see to comprehend it?I’m loving that you can make the time have a nice heavy font - but I just don’t understand why you’d want to obstruct the time with a portion of your photo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m boring though, I use a black wallpaper.
Not terribly much, but I guess I don't see the point in obstructing any information. Why have a partially covered clock? I just don't see the appeal of having a mountain top or someone's head cover the bottom third of the time, but it's not my device.
I’d say this is the same as the Home Screen, 2x widgets can only go on the left or the right.
keeping it simple. i tried messing about with the customisation but doesn't do anything for me. some widgets seem to be broken and i hate having black text so can't use certain colours. i'll stick with this...
Remember, though, that this is likely for always on screens. Battery hit from constant animation there would be high.
You could use a focus mode to set silent mode. Then you could have a lock screen that's on if that focus mode is active plus you'll have the little icon on the status bar, if say, you were actually on a home screen.
Really wish the Depth Effect worked on the Lock Screen my iPhone 8. It just instantly takes the whole lock screen update to a new level.
If always on is going to be a thing, I would imagine it would be a smaller segment of the screen like the clock and maybe some small text/symbols to indicate notifications rather than the whole thing. I can’t imagine the clamor if they just put out a device that constantly shows a dimmed Lock Screen.
I suspect it will be the top third of the screen (encompassing the clock and the widget area). So that would include some of the areas where the precip is showing in the weather lockscreen. But perhaps the lockscreen elements will be suppressed when the device is in always-on mode and only activated if the phone is picked up or nudged.
We have a few of these pups in our family and they’re some of the best behaved, most intelligent dogs I’ve met.
hi guys i have an abnormality with the lock screen ...whatever color i set for the time it dims when exiting the screen editor ..... i cant figure it out ...its only the time that does it ....anyone any ideas as on this thread people seem to have played about with it more and maybe come across the issue....
