...like i own a Porsche.
With Siri's built-in Shazam functionality, why on earth would I need to have a watch-based counterpart for the app? What am I missing?
According to your signature you have a MacBook Pro and an iPad. Think about why and when you use each of these and you will probably understand why owning an Apple Watch and an iPhone could make sense to quite a few people.
Shazam would be awesome, because you dont have to go fumbling for your phone then open the app. Ive only used the app a couple of times, since the song im curious about is in a quick commercial or something where I dont have a lot of time to react. Using Siri on my wrist to say "open shazam" would make this 10x easier.

Didn't take long for envy to come in on this thread. There are those here who do.
Oh those affluent Toyota owners, with so little paid on that mortgage, I'm sure you have plenty of dime to drop on the Apple Watch!![]()
Why would I ever download and use Shazam when I can ask Siri what song is playing?
----------
Or you could just say "what song is this"

I think he's referring to the fact that you can simply make a SIRI inquiry from any device without going through the hassle of launching the app, not questioning why anyone would need Apple Watch. At least that's how I read it.

Surely you would just ask siri to 'name that tune'?

But if you say "what song is this" It doesn't save the tag for later reference, so it seems Shazam is still superior. Plus, with Shazam, any songs I tag are added to a playlist in Spotify.
As will anything and everything ever in the history of everything.they'll be more mature and fleshed out when I eventually jump in on the 2nd or 3rd generation
The phone is in your purse/back pocket and the song is not.... ;-).
Depends what you use Shazam for, if its for a song you hear on TV, its much better/quicker to have the app on your wrist.
Think you've probably taken the original comment a little to heart....sounds to me it was said in jest...
My gut says it was not jest but pure envy. There are a lot of "lower peak" Apple users here that beg, borrow, steal and scrap to do anything they can to own an Apple product. In a way, they are lot like Harley riders that can't afford the better rallies but not as cool.

Android Wear didn't even see this kind of support. #RIPAndroidWear
Sorry, indeed misinterpreted the post. The Shazam app has quite a bit more functionality than the in-built Siri functionality. I question personally though how much of the user-base of Shazam actually uses those functions, besides the normal song detection stuff.
