I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, but it seems only the free version of Shazam has been updated. Shazam Encore is not showing an update. Hopefully it'll be coming soon. (They usually update at the same time.)

Wouldn’t the Shazam use your phone’s microphone and processing anyway? I’m pretty sure the current WatchKit doesn’t allow access to sensors.

WatchKit currently doesn't provide access to the watch's microphone. You do, however, have access to the iPhone's microphone from the WatchKit extension.

More probable than an internet troll with a Virgin Galactic ticket sunshine.

By the way, being brave isn't about buying a ticket for a new holiday service. If you really want to be brave spend 1% of the galactic ticket cost and spend a week helping refugees in Syria or working as a healthcare worker in some poor ebola ridden country. If you do that this whole forum would see you as a brave hero. Right now i think they all just see you as a ****.

I'm sure you are quite the spectacle and a veteran of the inevitable pub debate. Wonder how quickly it would take for you to go to blows. Or you one to invite someone into a game of darts and "accidentally" throw when your guest is clearing his darts from the board?

BTW, I'd rather fund those who take out the leaders of these Ebola ridden countries, then westernize the region and bring up their standard of living. Thus, they avoid being a part of the Victim, Inc. merry-go-round that criminal elite profit from for decades. Sell of one of those homes you own and join us!

I know a lot of developers that have been holding back on Apple Watch development for this and many other reasons. Right now, WatchKit is quite restrictive where the watch is viewed as a second screen to an iOS app. When the watches get out en mass by the end of this month, you will see some very inventive tear down and binary strips showing just what is inside and what can be done. This "diagnosis port" inside the band clasp looks like it probably has an SPI and I2C port for digital interface into a smartband. Wonder if that has been revealed in the MFi program.

Now my f'n Porsche won't start ?
what the hel' is wrong with this watch ?

Oh my - we've made it to the future.

This is no joke, my new Audi's entertainment unit keeps freezing and they said it might by me iPhone .. sigh. Didn't have any of these issues in the Porsche lol

Scores or posters thought they had found a use for the apple watch and
then you rain all over it. Well, it can open garages, and send squiggles and heartbeats. You cant that away from us!

Did you really mean to reply that to me? I ordered two watches and three bands the second they went on sale :p

How do Watch apps get approved? Someone reviews the iPhone app update that includes an Watch app? I hope app makers aren't creating Watch apps just because they think they have to and I hope Apple isn't approving any and all Watch apps just so they can announce some big number at WWDC.

So, you cannot use Shazam on the watch without the iphone being close to the source ?

Where's the fun in that ?

The Watch had a mic and a speaker but yet watchkit at the moment can't use the watch's mic ? Seems more of a limitation, If the iphones mic still needs to be able to "hear" the source, and you just control it from the watch, then why not just use the phone anyway?

you must be close anyway, and chances are the phone will probable need to be out of your pocket.... so your half way there,,, all you gotta do it launch it on the phone, instead of looking at your wrist.

Shazam is good, however it often gets tracks wrong... I dunno what kind of lookups they use or matching, but depending on different parts of the song, different results will result...

Hope Siri is much more accurate.. (seems MusicID (another app, but uses GraceNotes's from Sony), is much better, and can find remixes too. Shazam often has trouble with

I think he's referring to the fact that you can simply make a SIRI inquiry from any device without going through the hassle of launching the app, not questioning why anyone would need Apple Watch. At least that's how I read it.

THANK YOU. I'm really not sure why that was so difficult to grasp.
