Install the app "Launcher" on your iPhone. Great way to access the apps you'd like from your lock-screen. That way, I get into Shazam in less than 3 secondes :)

You still have to reach for your phone tough, were is it? My purse's so big that losing my phone it is a distinct issue ;-) (yeah, it is "supposed" to be in a side pocket, but somehow I always dig in the wrong pocket!

It's great to see so many apps being ported to the Apple Watch. And they'll be more mature and fleshed out when I eventually jump in on the 2nd or 3rd generation of the watch.

it's been estimated and i agree that AW wont be on an annual upgrade cycle. so lets figure two years...youre really going to wait 2 or 4 years before getting one, to...do what, again? get better apps?

My gut says it was not jest but pure envy. There are a lot of "lower peak" Apple users here that beg, borrow, steal and scrap to do anything they can to own an Apple product. In a way, they are lot like Harley riders that can't afford the better rallies but not as cool.

"Lower peak"? Wow, how can you breathe with your nose so high in the air?

But if you say "what song is this" It doesn't save the tag for later reference, so it seems Shazam is still superior. Plus, with Shazam, any songs I tag are added to a playlist in Spotify.

incorrect -- your Siri tune tags are logged. you can access them from iTunes on your desktop, or the iTunes Store app in iOS. tricky to find in iOS the first time:

More > Genius > [hamburger list top-right] > Siri

...but there they are.

Wow. I read it as jest myself.

Being that pretentious and judgemental is bad for you.

You should see me as I interview engineers.

You sound like a lot of fun, lol.

We'll bar hop in North Beach and see how well you can keep up.

Perhaps but personally I've never taken much interest in the elitist attitude towards life.

I'm on the other side. Seen way too many losers have incredible opportunities presented before them and they run away for, lack of better words, fear of success.

At times it is family and peers that do anything the can do keep their "friend" around while they are using their skills to make up for their own shortcomings. A lot of ex-wives come about when you elevate and they refuse to change.

I have my own oxygen supply. The Virgin Galactic flight will be a lot of fun. You have a ticket?

The Apple Watch seems to have excellent potential. I underestimated it's potential. I think that this time the Swiss watch makers will pay attention, which is probably healthy after doing the same things for centuries.

Shazam would be awesome, because you dont have to go fumbling for your phone then open the app. Ive only used the app a couple of times, since the song im curious about is in a quick commercial or something where I dont have a lot of time to react. Using Siri on my wrist to say "open shazam" would make this 10x easier.

Definitely. I've missed a few song IDs, usually with short commercials because of the time it takes to take your iPhone out of your pocket.

The phone is in your purse/back pocket and the song is not.... ;-).

Depends what you use Shazam for, if its for a song you hear on TV, its much better/quicker to have the app on your wrist.
He probably meant Siri on the Watch. You can ask Siri, "What song is playing?", and she'll use Shazam as the identification engine.

I still prefer using the app to see a list of the songs I've matched (Siri-initiated queries don't appear in the log).

It sure looked like a lot of fun when it went up on it's last test. I suppose there is something a little Darwinian about it.

my german train app has been updated for watch support today yet it still isn't optimized for iPhone 6 / 6 Plus.

I thought new apps had to include optimization for iPhone 6 ever since a few weeks ago

DB Navigator was very useful for me when I visited my family in Germany and friend in Switzerland.

As for Shazam, this is brilliant! No more pulling out my phone to know the song's name.

I have to say, the Shazam app is one of those apps where the "three environments" were watch apps all do well. That is

1) Hands busy
2) Smartphone hostile
3) Short / single view

For this, it covers all three. You don't have to put your drink down to sample an app, you don't have to look like a geek by pulling out your phone and you need just that one piece of information (here, what song is playing.)

I knew some bastard too scared to walk out of their neighborhood would bring this up. Fortune favors the brave. Your grandchildren do not want to hear stories about mortgage payments and trips to Disneyland. Then again, cowards breed less. Grow a pair.

Sir, I am from England we are not afraid. My partner and i also purchased our three houses without the aid of a mortgage. Now, unfortunately I won't be having any grandchildren since i am a raging homosexual and while we try to breed we have not yet been successful in our attempts but will of course continue to try.

So anyway onto your epic flight.. Do you have a little spaceman outfit that you wear, just to look the part you know? I bet you look just great in it !! It will be great to see in the hopefully distant future how your grandchildren will fondly recall the times you 'interviewed engineers'. Perhaps if you actually had the authority to hire anybody the ones you supposedly rejected might not have ended up working on Virgin Galactic ! Anyway, i can't sit around here all day i have breeding to do !

My honest opinion...if you have the sort of money to spend on a Virgin Galactic flight, and this is meant with no disrespect, you don't have time to spend perusing MacRumors whilst getting upset about people referring to Porsches!

Oh and those with vast amounts of money don't use phrases such as 'Grow a pair'!

A Fortiori

More probable than an internet troll with a Virgin Galactic ticket sunshine.

By the way, being brave isn't about buying a ticket for a new holiday service. If you really want to be brave spend 1% of the galactic ticket cost and spend a week helping refugees in Syria or working as a healthcare worker in some poor ebola ridden country. If you do that this whole forum would see you as a brave hero. Right now i think they all just see you as a ****.

No, I'm waiting 2 or 4 years (or whatever the upgrade cycle is) for Apple Watch to become something that I feel is worth my money. I didn't see anything compelling about Gen 1. I figure that Gen 2 and beyond will offer better specs/design that will be more enticing. In the meantime, I'm glad to see developers already jumping into development for the Watch. If I remember correctly, they were much slower to start writing apps for the iPad.

Actually, Siri's song ID function does save it in you iTunes history. There is a specific tab on the wish list portion with all Siri song ID history. It's great built in functionality.
