and all you people are talking about getting yours early.. my delivery date is in two days and it's in the phillipines as of now. wtf?

They should put it on a direct flight to NJ ;).
 
When did everyone get their shipping notifications? I'm trying to determine if they all go out in the morning (Taiwan time, of course) or later? Thanks for the info!

Ephex, mine is also in PH. I am in Philadelphia, I do wonder if it will be a direct flight to Newark from there. It has sat in the Philappines for a couple of days now, I wonder if they forgot to scan them before putting them on the plane?

Worse thought though, sometimes Customs will quaranteen an entire plane until every package is accounted for. That explains the Subic Bay entry - it's a pre-stateside customs clearance center.

Mine made into the US ok. Now its taking its sweet old time in Memphis. So tomarorow Newark, then either Hackensack or Mahwah. Then Oakland!!! w00t. This wiaitng game sucks though.

Ordered 12" SuperDrive (base config) 01/31/2005 @ 07:48 AM PST

I changed the order the next afternoon to a 15" CTO, upgrading to 128MB VRAM, from 12" after order was held due to my developer membership expiring the week before. (still got the discount! :D )

Apple's Order Status page showed it shipped 02/03/2005 and provided a FedEx tracking number (I never received an email) but the package was not in FedEx's system until the next day. I think what happens is Apple assigns the tracking number with their shipping software so your order hasn't necessarily shipped; it's just ready for pickup.

Now it's been in Memphis all day.... what's it doing, touring Graceland? :rolleyes:

My laptop is in the exacty same shipment. Right down to the minute. Maybe they are at the bar or visiting the tourist sites.

More than likely, it arrived in Memphis too late to make it onto the plane... so it should leave Memphis tonight for Texas. Don't forget that FedEx is based in Memphis, and each night a lot of planes land there, exchange packages, and then take off again to their destinations.
 
mine is on the same shipment too. i've been refreshing all day and its still touring graceland!

i agree with one of the previous posters. the plane probably go in too late and our guys will be separated tonight for their final destinations. i hope i get mine tomorrow!!

According to a forum post over at the Think Secret Forums our PowerBooks may not be out seeing the sights of Memphis at all:
I called FedEx - our kids are still clearing customs. If they manage to clear prior to the sort tonight 12am-2am, there's a good chance they could be here tomorrow -- else it's Wed.

When I first read this I was a little surprised - why do a customs check on a shipment from one US state to another? But I guess there was some special provision in Anchorage to let the packages through quickly, as long as a customs check was done later. (Our 'books were only there for a couple of hours)

Still hoping it may be heading for Newark tonight.. (as I check Sherlock for FedEx flights out of Memphis.. :D )

Its in the country so it should meet the target date.

I also ordered BT Mouse and iWork and oddly enough they were not shipped until Friday, Feb 4 out of Vancouver, looks like it everything will arrive the same day.
I don't think iWork or iLife 05 shipped in Canada on the same day as in the States.

I guess it's because I'm new to Macs and all, but Sherlock seems pretty cool! (This PB will be my first Mac but I've been using an old 700Mhz iMac from the school where I work as a Windows Network Admin :confused: )

At any rate, I hope our PBs at least get a chance to hear some blues while in Memphis! Maybe bring back a postcard... or phone number.... :cool:
 
you guys should sit back open a beer and chill, i know its exciting to be waiting for a new machine ... i'll be ordering a new one hopefully this week but I for one can tell you definitely posting and checking your shipping every minute of the day does not make the days go by faster. Now you may this i'm being stupid but in retrospect you'll understand ... first mac or 30th mac ... go for a run, do something clear your head, work out ... stop watching the water boil cuz it ain't going any faster.

Most of us don' actually check every minutes. i o check maybe twice (or maybe 3 times) a day. But it sure is funny reading these posts. Granted if you just read all of them now we look like a bunch of losers but the thread as gone for about 5 days now.

Its all in good fun.

I've got a PowerBook on hold at the Apple Store and will be picking it up tomorrow morning. I'm glad demand for PowerBooks is high, but give me an accurate estimate for Pete's sake. Waiting 3 weeks for a computer that was said to be shipping "within 1-3 days" is not acceptable.

I bet they haven't. Apple is good about billing you only when the order is shipped and not before. Either the order has shipped and they haven't updated the status page (if so, consider yourself lucky) or your bank is holding the funds because the purchase was "authorized." Sometimes, the latter will look like a debit when it is only a hold.
