I can't believe my PB is still waiting in Luxemburg - along with all the rest of the UK ones I suspect.
It's been there since yesterday lunchime. Or maybe they just haven't updated the information.
I was really hoping to have it today...
Oh well, I really hope it gets here tomorrow!
That would meet their shipping estimate of 7 days.

Have fun with your new PBs :)

It's arrived!

Just got a call letting me know that the PowerBook is safely at home awaiting my return from work tonight! :)

(FedEx still has it listed as being at the Staten Island distribution center, not on a truck yet.. so you can't believe everything you read on the internet)

Hope all the other Wednesday delivery folks here get similar good news today!

Still in Luxembourg...

My PB seem to be stuck somewhere too. Do anyone know whether the ETA refers to 'out for delivery' at final destination (i.e. my place?)

you guys should sit back open a beer and chill, i know its exciting to be waiting for a new machine ... i'll be ordering a new one hopefully this week but I for one can tell you definitely posting and checking your shipping every minute of the day does not make the days go by faster. Now you may this i'm being stupid but in retrospect you'll understand ... first mac or 30th mac ... go for a run, do something clear your head, work out ... stop watching the water boil cuz it ain't going any faster.

This is why we look:
My PB was supposed to arrive Wednesday. This morning before leaving for work, I checked the status. "OMG it's now at hub near my house, one more location to go!"

I drive 45 minutes to work and "OMG it's at my delivery location. Will it get on the truck today? Is it too late to get on the truck? Could I be lucky enough to get a day early?"

30 minutes pass and "OMG it's out for delivery. It's out for delivery. 6 weeks without a laptop will end today! Yeah!"
"But wait, I planned on staying at work late this evening. I can't do that now."

I shift my schedule so I am actually leaving a little early from work today.

And this whole thing was fun for me. I wached the water boil and it boiled a day early. Plus, by looking, I won't be stuck at work this evening wishing I was at home playing.

Held up in Anchorage?

My order had not been updated since Feb 5 in Anchorage and was supposed to be delivered yesterday. After nothing came yesterday I called UPS this morning and they said they changed the date to Thursday due to some convoluted reason: "...international shipment...customs..." (Still says Feb 5: Anchorage)

What's the deal? Did anyone else's suffer this hiccup. I had already prepared my "Welcome Home" banner on the front of my apartment and now I have to take it down for 2 more days!

Grr... (sniffle)

Yeah, it happened to me, too. The UPS website had scheduled my delivery for February 4, but it wasn't showing that the laptop had moved from Anchorage. I called on Friday and after being told it was scheduled to deliver that same day, I was transferred to the International Shipping department, where they gave me the same hokey excuse (customs, international date line), and said the website doesn't take these factors into account, and that instead the delivery was guaranteed by the 8th. Sure enough, it's on a truck now, according to the website, and I'm impatiently waiting!

Gwendolyn, thanks for confirming and congrats on your incoming laptop.

So it immediately switched from "Anchorage" to "Out for Delivery" in one step? Hmm...

So I guess this new delay is for real and I have to wait until Thursday.

Damn you, Customs!

I am a 3-month lurker here and made the move to the high-end 15" PBook when the bumps were announced. I made the purchase that morning and went BTO for the 128MB Video option -- I was due to ship "On or before 2/7/05". Of course, I checked this AM and the date has been changed to 2/23/05. I think I may get it sooner, though, b/c it looks like my CC has been charged today. Maybe they missed my ship date by 24 hours -- not the end of the world.

Thank you! It's my first Mac, and I think I will be very happy. I'll probably do some searching on the forums later to find out how easy or difficult it will be to transfer my WordPerfect documents over. My laptop seemed to be stuck at Anchorage for quite awhile--from very early on the 3rd to mid-afternoon on the 7th. Then it started moving again, but quite a bit faster. Maybe it's the "import scan" part that was holding things up?

PB 17"

As anyone received their PB 17" already? Or at least do some of them had already ship? I ordered my 17" not BTO on the 01/31/05 and it was on or before 02/08/04 which is today! I called Apple rep and the guy told me he didn't know anything else that what was on the apple order status. I' m so scare that I will receive an apologetic email saying my order will be delayed for like 15 days. GRRRrrrrRRRR Can't wait to play with my new toy...

^ i ordered a 17" on the 31st as well...however mine is already in toronto and should be at my house either today or tomorrow.

good luck with your shipment.

steve.

The latest info I have on my 15" 1.5 w/ SD are as follows:

Feb 8, 2005 2:50 am

Package status

INDIANAPOLIS IN

Regulatory Agency Clearance Delay

Scheduled to arrive by 4:30 on the 9th (Wed.) Anyone know what the delay is all about? I assume it's just customs, but the word delay worries me a bit.

Thanks -- this is my first Mac! :D

The Apple Store in London haven't even had any in stock yet... crap! There were a few peeved customers there this afternoon, and I left as one of them :(

Mine is also UPS, odd that there are so many Fedex shipments and a couple outlier UPS ones. I hope UPS takes the same care (haha, a shipping company actually taking care is H-I-Larious) as Fedex does.

Mine is set to be delivered on the Feb 10, Thurs. I called UPS over the weekend because it said it was stuck in customs export in CN. Whateva :p

Edit: Just checked again and its been rescheduled!!!
Resched. Delivery: Feb 8, 2005

Awesome, PB Tomorrow!

Don't believe the reschedule. Mine said it would be here on the 7th all day yesterday. Now there is not a date. I am shocked that mine is coming UPS, and most of the others are coming FedEx which seems to me a lot quicker. The UPS service is a 2-5 day service, not a 2-3 day service like I pad for with Apple. Mine shipped on Friday and will not be here until this Thursday or Friday. I have already called apple and they are refunding my shipping $$.

The thing that sucks is that I wanted it here for a presentation on Wednesday. When I ordered it they said they were certain it would be here.

I was expecting my 1GB stick from OWC to be delivered by UPS today and my PB tomorrow from FedEx. Before I left for work this morning, I told my sleepy g/f to expect a small package today. She said something about preferring a big package, and I told her to wait until tomorrow for the big package. (Then she said, "No, not that big package.")

Anyway, the PB was delivered at 9:19 PST this morning, and the RAM is out for delivery...so two packages for her today (plus whatever the FedEx and UPS drivers had to personally offer...er, maybe I'll be heading home now...).

Got it!! 1 day early

My BTO 15" arrived at 10:15 this morning in Philly PA.

By 11:00 I had all of my docs and apps (23GB including itunes) transfered, the 2nd 1GB DIMM installed and am working away.

Ran XBench, with all of the things I normally leave on, smooth scrolling, medium smoothing, etc it ran a 144.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Mine says it left Alaska on Sunday. I just called UPS...she said that the Alaska scan is a pre-scan and most likely it is still in China!!!!!!

I hope I am not the only one who Apple is returning their shipping $$ to for paying for a 2-3 day service that is not AT ALL that. If yours took longer than that, please call Apple and get a shipping refund. At least that way they know that they can't skimp on the shipping and make you wait longer than what they had promised.

I Love Apple, and their service but this is rediculous. I also have a iPod shuffle that I asked be shipped overnight. They shipped it ground!!!

Something is up in their shipping department and I don't know what it is.
