Preparing for shipment? Lucky you. I ordered around the same time and mine is still "Processing".

----------

I have a $30 unlimited data plan on AT&T in the US. In order to tether, I'd need to give up my unlimited plan and get a 3GB plan for $30, and then pay an extra $20 on top of it just for just the right to tether.
In short, give up my $30 unlimited and instead pay $50 for 3GB with tether.

Mine still shows processing as well. My order was complete at 1:54 P.M Mountain time.

In US, ATT 64GB Black now shows a ship date of March 19th.

Yah but it's really still not enough for someone to pay lots of extra $$$ for a few days.

The scalpers are not going to make lots of money this time.

Tim Cook prepared for this launch really well and it's worldwide for the most part...unlike the iPad 2 .

Saw that. I'm deciding between ATT and Verizon and trying to justify getting an Ipad lol. But other then that minor issue, seems like Apple has supply issues under control.

Verizon. They have a 1GB option now for $20 if you need a months worth and also tethering. Nuff said.

I agree ... just seems different from the iPad 2 launch. I seem to remember the 64GB ATT model was pretty popular on the iPad 2 as well. Maybe thiis will change if dates start getting extended over the next few days, but I think the big ordering push was yesterday for the fans and today for the people that saw and heard about the new iPad on the news last night or this morning.

mwauaha, it was SO worth staying up last night to wait for the UK Apple store to open, bring on the 16th!

Indeed it was. All thanks to auto refresh on google chrome :D

Got my order in at 11:44pm yesterday, the second some guy at Apple flicked the switch for the store to open :)

I gave up waiting for the store to open so went to bed. Fortunately however I woke up in the night to go to the bathroom and BAM, order done in under 60 seconds. Bottom of the range in white coming on the 16th, I have been complaining about wanting a better res screen since the original came out.

Yes! I used the same thing, refreshing every 10 seconds, can't believe in about 16 hours the it's jumped to 2-3weeks.

Started auto-reloading the German store after the keynote.
At about 1:30 at night it went online again and I placed the order for my 32/WiFi model.
My estimate is still at march 16th, so it seems that the downtime played to my advance :)

Australian Store is still showing 16 - 22 March delivery on all items - the same as at launch yesterday. My order (64GB 4G - though we don't actually get 4G in oz) is processed and due to ship 16 - 22 March.

I ordered mine at 12:05 today morning. No hassle what so ever. I'm picking mine up at the Apple Store on the 16th too which I didn't expect.

Delivers on March 16

I ordered today at 3 pm. I really didn't want it delivered on March 16, since I won't be there to receive it. But, though at points in the ordering process it told me "ships by March 19", once all was said and done, it told me "Delivers on March 16". Hopefully they will try again on Saturday the 17th.

Or just cancel your order and reorder at a later date....

I've resigned myself to the fact I won't be able to buy one for a good while, because I want to play with a third gen iPad in a store before I buy, and make my decision then. I've never owned an iPad before. I can't remember if I ever held an iPad 2 in my hands, but it's definitely been a while since I played with the first gen in an Apple Store. For something like this, I just can't take a leap of faith and preorder, and I don't want to sit in a line for hours on release day.

Not knocking those who wait. I've been to Apple Store openings before, and the lines are fun. I just don't need to do that more than a couple times in my life, especially if I'd feel pressured to buy one as soon as I walk in the door or risk them selling out of the model I want, before I've spent a good long while playing with the displays.

How funny is it that the iPads are shipping a week earlier than the Apple TVs that were ordered the same day:D

took me almost 2hrs to complete my order, but my 64GB Black WiFi will delivered on the 16th. Can't believe I'm joining the darkside, but after 2 subpar Android tablets, I have no choice...lol!!!

What is wrong with the new iPad webpage? A very strange problem for a company like Apple.

really? i'm in chi & it told me store pickup not avail ... oh well

I think it may have depended on what day you ordered it. I placed a pre-order on Wednesday for an AT&T model, and after the store finally came up and I was able to order the device, it offered me only delivery. I changed my mind Thursday and decided to go for the Verizon model, at which point I noticed that the pick up in store option was available. This is in NYC.

I wonder if Apple is actually not expecting there to be long lines because it is so convenient to pre-order and there appears to be sufficient stock. Perhaps that's why they feel comfortable offering the in-store pickup option on launch day. Or perhaps that's specifically to create a crowded atmosphere. I'll wait for FedEx to make a delivery.

I suspect that Apple anticipated much more purchases of the new iPad than :apple: TV. So whilst they have a decent amount of iPad stock in warehouses somewhere, they didn't anticipate such interest in the :apple: TV.

My black/32/at&t shipped already. Yippee!

Monday the 19th is more like it. Mine shipped UPS Standard. No Saturday delivery I'd bet... :(

There really isn't a tablet market. There's only an iPad market. I haven't yet seen a single product that betrays that proposition.

If you are not there, FedEx leaves a note. You can usually pick it up at the warehouse that evening or on Saturday if it arrives on a Friday.

On a related note, I notice that all the AT&T models now say they are shipping March 19th, while the Verizon models are still set to arrive March 16th (as are the Wi-Fi-only models). It seems a bit odd, particularly given that Verizon has a bigger LTE network, and is offering tethering while AT&T is non-committal.

It also seems interesting that we still have plenty here in the US while other countries are in short supply. Perhaps they are taking care of their home market first?

If this new iPad is LTE - why does it still need verizon or att as choices? Shouldn't that be software driven?

Because AT&T uses different LTE bands than Verizon. AT&T is in the lower bands and Verizon starts at 747 MHz. It's a physical thing.
