If I recall, there were inventory constraints last year too when I bought my 12.9 IPP due to the pandemic. Unless you’re set on purchasing from Apple, I’m sure there will be some (but limited) inventory available from 3rd party resellers at launch. I bought mine from Best Buy last April and scored a pretty sweet deal on an open-box. Patience is a virtue. :)

Spend your hard earned cash and pay top dollar.
I don't need to spend that kind of money for an iPad Pro 12.9
Last years model still works for me.
Get a Mac mini for half the cost of an iPad Pro 12.9 and get a REAL OS and the same power.
For those of us who didn't get last year's model, because we thought last year's model wasn't enough of spec boost over a 2018, if we can we should get them.

16GB, mini LED, Thunderbolt, and M1 are certainly worth that hard earned cash if you enjoy & use a pro.

I’m confused the ATT cellular models 128gb and 256gb are ready for launch date meanwhile the 1tb and 2tb are June mid July LOL. I for one after having a 1tb pro damn recovering from an icloud takes a couple of days lol even with a gyg internet I’m hesitant on getting a 2tb table fuuuuuuu help

I was going to upgrade my 2017 10.5 512GB iPad Pro.

I actually tried the 1TB 11” with A12Z a few months ago and couldn’t justify the price.

Now the 1TB mode has increased in price by $200. Can’t justify spending $1499 on an iPad that can’t even replace my computer in terms of capabilities even though the hardware is more powerful than the 2014 MBP I’m using.

I paid $600 for my iPad Pro 10.5 right after the 11” came out in late 2018. 😬

There’s a meme I saw showing a nice Lamborghini towing a trashy trailer. It said the car was the new M1 iPad Pro and the crummy trailer was iPadOS.

Sounds like sour grapes to me! Always have to chuckle when people judge others for how they choose to spend their money to make themselves (the judger) feel better. And no, I'm not buying the new iPad Pro, nor have I ever owned an iPad Pro. Just calling your post as I see it.

This is bad behavior and really shouldn't be rewarded, but yet, someone probably will happily pay you a premium so they dont' have to wait.

Explain how it's bad? It's not like he's hoarding food and water and selling it at a premium to desperate people who can't afford it.

There's absolutely nothing wrong about selling something you own to a willing buyer.

the worst thing is not the money. Its how much of your finite life this thing will eat up with nothing to show for it.

This is a very complicated discussion and goes to the heart of a functional society, it's also important to point out I didn't use the word "bad" by itself, I instead used the term "bad behavior" because bad is too complicated to not provide context.

Behavior is a social construct, and in an ideal society there's a mutual respect automatically applied by each of us for everyone else. There's a lot of freedom within that ideal to behave bad, good, neutral, etc.

If there is a commodity, any kind of one that is potentially limited and in demand, there is opportunity for those with means to hoard and in turn control the supply to those who do not have those means, leading to all sorts of new economic classes.

So yeah, it's bad behavior, but not "bad".

Ideal behavior would be you buy the one you want and leave the one you don't for the next average Joe to come along and own, as fairly and squarely an experience as you buying the item you wanted was.

From Tickle-Me Elmo scalping, to ticket scalping, to modern day electronics, all of these create potentially destabilizing scenarios for economy and society.

I don't think this is complicated. It's not like he's buying thousands of iPads before they were available to the general public. He bought two and decides he wants to sell one. If someone buys it, then obviously they think it's worth it. If not, then he might have to sell at-cost. It all works out just fine.

Or just return it if there are no buyers.

Anyone else waiting for the back-to-school promo to kick in for their iPad purchase? Since the ship time is so far out, I'm thinking about ordering now, and when the back-to-school promo kicks in sometime soon after it ships in late June/early July, then I can call and get the promo added... Thoughts?
Yes because that’s more logical than just ordering it around back to school time. 🙄

Came very close to pulling the trigger, but I’m sure I’ll be buying a 16” M2 MBP this year, so I decided to keep my powder dry and live with my perfectly great 2018 12.9” IPP. I also didn’t buy a new iPhone last year for the first time ever, so that my also be in my future this year.
Same boat, expecting MiniLed in 16” and an extra “2k” 30” Apple Display to go with it
