I have to agree there can be upsides to all of this... but in other cases it can simply be reduced down to "don't be a jerk."Welcome to capitalism. The technical term is “arbitrage”, and sometimes economies and societies need destabilization. Chaos creates opportunity.
Thank god for business expenses 😁Imagine, in Europe, the most expensive one is € 2.599,00. That is 3.124,17 United States Dollars (includes 21% tax)
Mine is saying 28th may but mine was ordered via very.co.ukMy pre-order initially said “21st -27th May” but now says “27th May”. I was quick as well - I thought I must have been one of the first orders placed in the UK after they initially borked the UK pre-order launch. Guess not!
I have a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5. You think it’s worth it to upgrade?I’m so glad I ordered within the first 10 minutes!
For those who wonder how this is worth what it is, realize that professionals pay thousands of dollars for color accurate monitors of equal or even smaller size. Using Sidecar makes this a very cost effective HDR reference monitor. Plus it has the full power of the M1 as a stand alone device. Plus it’s one of the very best drawing/illustration devices out there. Etc.
However if you have a 2018 or 2020 iPad Pro, I’ll agree that you probably shouldn’t upgrade.

Maybe it's just Apple under promising - they expect it to be 21st but to allow for shipping delays, they say 27th?Same as mine, and I ordered in the first minute with confirmation email at 13:03

Man, if I had an ounce of artistic/drawing ability, I'd be all over that 12.9"... gonna stick it out another year on my 9.7" Pro... still plays a mean Netflix movie!![]()
Every time I see statements like these online I wonder where some people live. Where I live my life has been back to normal for at least 6 months. Coffee shops, restaurants, stores, gym, etc. for at least 6 months or more.
That’s hard to say. We don’t know Apple’s supply of each model vs. relative demand. If, due to chip shortages, Apple is only able to produce 1,000 12.9” IPP’s, but can crank out 1MM of the 11” models (an extreme example) per month, that would skew the availability timeline.Everyone is after the the big 12.9” model cause the 11” is readily available.
I can't believe there is a $2,200 iPad. Blows my mind. Kudos to those who can get good use out of it, though!
Dual boot possibly?
I’m in SoCal the prison.
so yeah things are finally beginning to open up here. Coffee shops just in the past month or so (for indoor dining anyway) so it’s slowly coming back.
where do you live? Been trying to find an alternative state to California.
Thanks! That spares me 660€ which Hopefully Will allow to cover MiniLed in 16” MBP😏I guarantee you there will not be dual-boot.
You have 49 to choose from. Plus some territories.
For what it’s worth, I don’t think “prison” means what you think it does.
So you spent your hard earned cash and paid top dollar last year?GO GET UM BOYS!
Spend your hard earned cash and pay top dollar.
I don't need to spend that kind of money for an iPad Pro 12.9
Last years model still works for me.
Get a Mac mini for half the cost of an iPad Pro 12.9 and get a REAL OS and the same power.
FWIW, it’s become an indispensable piece of my work. I still have a Mini that I use frequently. I don’t think that I will ever again own a laptop. It still feels like people try to justify getting these 2-3k iPads. Ill be the first to tell you, it's mostly a luxury tablet experience for me. I know that's anecdotal, but I would argue that the amount of "Pro" iPad users, who have dumped their workstations to go all in on iPad are about 1% of users. I have never seen so much commentary in regards to "proving" it's worth. iPadOS needs more attention then M1 benchmark scores, that's what Android folk used to be obsessed with.
Mine was ordered on may 14th and it says June 15-29 and it’s still hasn’t shipped
Prior to the launch of the new iPad Pro models, rumors suggested that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro would be in short supply, and it appears those rumors were correct.

Shipping estimates for 12.9-inch iPad Pro models now range into July for orders placed today, though the highest-end 2TB model is still available for June delivery.
128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models have delivery estimates of June 24 to July 8, while the 2TB model, which is priced at $2,200, will deliver between June 2 and June 9.
The iPad Pro became available to order at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time this morning, and right when it became available for purchase, shipping dates were at May 21 to May 27, so those who ordered earliest will be getting the new tablet in May.
The 11-inch iPad Pro model is still readily available for purchase and will deliver to customers by May 27.
Both iPad Pro models have M1 chips, Thunderbolt connectivity, and front-facing camera improvements, but the 12.9-inch model also has a mini-LED display, which is believed to be responsible for the supply shortages. Bloomberg earlier this month said that Apple suppliers are experiencing poor manufacturing yields of the mini-LED display.
