Ordered a space grey 64g 6 at about 2:10 CST .
Initially got an email saying it would ship on or around sept 19-- I pre-ordered on AT&T because apple wouldn't load for me in app form or via the web

Got the confirmation email around 5:00am
And waited for more info to be filled in.

Flash forward to 6:00pm today and now it says my phone won't ship till oct 12-31!!

The kicker is that as of 10:08 CST I could order the same phone from apple with sept 19 delivery!
I really want to cancel my order, but they told me on the phone that my upgrade eligibility wouldn't restore for 24-48 hours- and who knows what the apple availability would be then..
Bummer.. Not sure what to do.. Thinking I may go to a b and m store and see if anyone can help me out..

Same thing here. I hate ordering through att but the damn apple page wouldn't load. I tried from 3am (east) til 4:30. I could still get one from Apple for 9/19 right now but the only option it gives me is att next, then it says customers in NY can't order next online.

I stuck it out on the App Store iPhone app and got the 6p 32Gig Space Gray and it still shows 9/19 delivery.. All about preparing. I was in bed with my iPhone 5 patiently waiting for App Store to come up.. WFH on Friday!!:rolleyes:

They don't make a 32GB version of the iPhone 6 / Plus. You can choose 16GB or 64GB or 128GB.

Still laughing at all those people saying the 5.5" would never sell and who wants a phablet, blah blah blah. Well, look for yourselves...

There's at least one problem with this analysis. We don't know how many 5.5" units have made it out of production and are available for pre-ordering and launch.

Me too. I live in NYC and when I tried to order, I got that same foolish message but I'll be taking my work home with me Thursday evening so that I can wait in line at an AT&T store Fri morning. If you can do the same, I would advise you to do so. Don't order online from other vendors as you are guaranteed not to get it on launch day.

Ordered on AT&T at 4am Eastern. So far, so good.

Apple iPhone 6 - 64GB
Order date: 09/12/2014
Item status: Preparing to Ship
Estimated ship date: 09/17/14-09/18/14

I have this feeling that I'll have my Air 2 before I have my 6+.

----------

After watching a few videos of pocket tests for the 5.5" and 4.7", I've ultimately decided to go with the 4.7". I would certainly prefer the larger screen, but I don't want the disadvantage of more limited mobility. There's not only the question of comfortably fitting it in your pocket (I'm a shorter, thinner guy), but also of using an armband while running or biking. Add to that the delay in obtaining the phone, and the extra $100 cost, and it just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense for me. I figure the 4.7 will make for a smoother transition, and I can always upgrade to the 6s+ next year. Just some thoughts for you guys debating the size choices.

Currently owning a Note 3, I have to agree that jogging with it has been an issue. Still want a 6+ but there are certain drawbacks.

and there were so many people on these forums complaining about a 5.5" iphone and that it was never gong to happen, yet it turns out to be the most popular model...

hypocrites???

Cancel it, your eligibility resets instantly I did it with three different phones/ upgrades with ATT today. Same thing happened to me Apple wouldn't load so I went with ATT got all three orders in by 2:30 cst am. When I checked my shipping dates it was into October, so I called cancelled and placed them through Apple, before I even got off the phone with ATT I was able to place my order with Apple because my eligibility reset

Welcome to the Macrumors community. If anyone other than Apple releases it first, then it's a bad idea IE. 5.5" iphone, mini ipad, etc...

It's how it works around here.

had to delete it b/c people didn't get the joke

99% or the time I login to this forum is to read the usual trolling post (something about samsung, google, etc). So it is ok, i guess it was Ok to keep that comment you deleated.

There are going to be a LOT of returns. Most people who are buying this (non tech geeks) are going to assume the iphone "plus" is only marginally bigger then their current iphones.

People are buying it cause its the "plus". They want the most expensive phone to show off.

This thing is huge. The bezel is awful. How in the world anyone with small hands (mostly females) is going to use this thing beats me. Unless you are lebron james, you ain't using this one handed.

Not to mention this is not pocket able at all.

Apple could have hit this thing out of the park with adding oIS in the smaller version + sapphire screen. AND also releasing a smaller version (5s size). My girlfriend now is contemplating on buying a 5s since the 6 is way, way too big for her.

So the LG G3 is pretty much better than iphone 6 plus in every single way possible: Screen, microSD, camera, wireless charging, bezels, comfortable for one handed use.

Yet its priced at $480. Almost half of an iphone 6 plus.

On a side note, iPhone 6+'s are currently selling for $1,450 on eBay. So if your thoughts are true, people could simply quick-sell the thing on eBay and make a fortune. Something worth considering for those of you lucky enough to get 9/19 iPhone 6+ preorders.

To be honest, I didn't think the 5.5" was going to happen at first either. The first part leaks didn't start appearing until about a month ago, compared to several months ago for the 4.7". There were also rumors about delays, production problems, etc. I think those rumors were probably true, but just resulted in a smaller 5.5" supply on launch day.

Yep, there is nothing like standing in line for 10 hours, way better than ordering online ... ;) LOL

Just go anywhere besides an Apple store or AT&T/Verizon and you'll get an iPhone in 20 mins. I picked up both a 5 and 5s on launch day, although the selection was more limited.

The "plus" version does sound like your getting more bang for your buck, but people will know its a bigger screen... I mean anyone can see that, even the non-geeks would... You just gotta looks at it side by side (however, i do know people that would not do that.) instead they would ask me... go fugue.

I guess in a sense, itcis just marginally better, 1920x1080, image stabilization.. and physical wise too, its heaver of course.

THATS' IT... Just ran over spec by spec at Apple site.

The rest all the same..

Just glad you got an order in.. some people were waiting for over an hour before their store was up.

Check this date I got from my ATT order

So I had to call ATT to place my business order for two 6+ phones.....estimated delivery date... November 7- 27th. No bull. So almost an Xmas present.

Unbelievable

How do you know the 5.5" iPhones are the most popular? I'm just curious, because obviously you wouldn't be using the very flawed logic that because they sold out first they are selling more of them.

I'm surprised it has taken as long as it has.

I really think Apple has been at full steam manufacturing these 4.7's for quite some time. the 5.5 was a big bet and a risky one too I think. It was quite a departure from standard Apple. Or the 5.5 had more manufacturing issues then the 4.7/.

The main reason for me was battery life. I could have done with either of the two screen sizes, but the noticeably better battery life extends to the Plus only.

Shipping estimates

Well i wonder this, it says 7-10 days to ship . In worst case it will ship in september 25 according to this. But how they say oct 1-6 for delivery time? Does it take to 6 day to shipping across the US ? I will pay for 1 or 2 day shipping but there is no option for that. With my experience apple deliver items in 2-3 max but I confused with that one. I hope some changes that estimated times in next week.

I'm curious - did anyone in the UK get a pre-order for delivery on launch day? I tried constantly from before 8am - it went from "We'll be back soon", to the store being up and all models "unavailable", to all models being "Shipped in 7-10 business days".
