I'm curious - did anyone in the UK get a pre-order for delivery on launch day? I tried constantly from before 8am - it went from "We'll be back soon", to the store being up and all models "unavailable", to all models being "Shipped in 7-10 business days".
Maybe we will see a samsung commercial about the site crashing.
To be honest, I didn't think the 5.5" was going to happen at first either. The first part leaks didn't start appearing until about a month ago, compared to several months ago for the 4.7". There were also rumors about delays, production problems, etc. I think those rumors were probably true, but just resulted in a smaller 5.5" supply on launch day.

Just go anywhere besides an Apple store or AT&T/Verizon and you'll get an iPhone in 20 mins. I picked up both a 5 and 5s on launch day, although the selection was more limited.
I think Apple really ramped it up this year thinking there would be enough, and there still weren't.
And I think they really underestimated the demand of the 6+, from a poll I saw, it seems to be about 50/50 on 6 vs 6+...I'm betting Apple figured it wouldn't be anywhere near that even.

Still laughing at all those people saying the 5.5" would never sell and who wants a phablet, blah blah blah. Well, look for yourselves...
Am I the only person waiting to actually handle them both before buying one??![]()
and there were so many people on these forums complaining about a 5.5" iphone and that it was never gong to happen, yet it turns out to be the most popular model...
hypocrites???

There are going to be a LOT of returns. Most people who are buying this (non tech geeks) are going to assume the iphone "plus" is only marginally bigger then their current iphones.
People are buying it cause its the "plus". They want the most expensive phone to show off.
This thing is huge. The bezel is awful. How in the world anyone with small hands (mostly females) is going to use this thing beats me. Unless you are lebron james, you ain't using this one handed.
Not to mention this is not pocket able at all.
Apple could have hit this thing out of the park with adding oIS in the smaller version + sapphire screen. AND also releasing a smaller version (5s size). My girlfriend now is contemplating on buying a 5s since the 6 is way, way too big for her.
So the LG G3 is pretty much better than iphone 6 plus in every single way possible: Screen, microSD, camera, wireless charging, bezels, comfortable for one handed use.
Yet its priced at $480. Almost half of an iphone 6 plus.
6+ is the right size for me. 6 is too small and I don't want an iPad.
