Interesting to read that shipping dates are being reflected AFTER a transaction. When I was on ATT site, it was telling me when the item would ship after I finished selecting the model features. Maybe it's just my magical connection to the servers.

I'm surprised anyone would actually use any phone for anything sports-related other than low-density such as a pedometer while pacing steps walking or climbing stairs; they're simply to big! Too big for the arm, leg, waist, or any other body part. So having the watch IMO, is pointless as well unless using it for other means. Hell I have a fit while trying to use my 5 in the gym; just too cumbersome.

Hm! Either AT&T's system has malfunctioned or I'm a little ticked.... pre-ordered iPhone 6 64GB SG at 3:15am EST Friday through AT&T, got an email confirmation of 'around 9/19' at 7:30am, aaaand now checking status the preorder ship date has slipped 7 days to 'between 09/23 and 10/02'.

Gosh, glad I pre-ordered at 3:15am. ;)

Hmmm....I got through on ATT about 3.30 AM EST (after getting one through the iPhone Apple Store app earlier) and my ship date still shows 9/17 - 9/18. Have faith! If your order was in that early, you may get a surprise on 9/19!

----------

I already have 6++++ in my gym shorts.I think it looks pretty good, though I do use a "pouch"so it doesn't flap around to much.

What color is your Corvette?

This morning I received my FEDEX tracking number for my two 64GB Space Gray iPhones ordered from Verizon. I like how it's standard overnight shipping with a 9/19 delivery. What are they going to do? Drive it around the east coast this week?

The product is in transit from China. If you are the type who compulsively checks your tracking status you may find that your order seems to be jumping all around the country, even seemingly bouncing back to China, or sitting for days at the FedEx hub at Raleigh, NC. Then one day it will show "out for delivery" and you will wonder how that even happened.

This is the best size comparison I have seen so far..... It should give anybody an instant understanding of the phone's size

Actually, for Germans, the best comparison is: The 6 Plus is like a bar of Milka chocolate (though a bit heavier). :D

Or you can just walk into a T-Mobile shop and pick up a Note 3. it's a bit wider and not that high and just a little bit lighter, but it gives you the general idea.

I ordered an iPhone 6 64GB Gold for my wife and an iPhone plus 128GB SG for myself, both through AT&T at 3.30AM EST. iPhone 6 I deeds will ship 9/17-9/18, but the iPhone plus has now slipped to 10/31-11/11 !!!! This is rediculous... What type of "preorder" is this? And furthermore they won't let you line up on 9/19 so they have my money today but I have to wait two months!!

I'm guessing there will be a growing number of 6 PLUS phone returns once people get them and try to live with them.

At least I spent a lot of time thinking about the issue, as I have always been extremely skeptical about big screens (I am one of the "fanboys" who always argued against them). I actually cut out cardboard dummies, to check into which pockets I could still fit them, and I spent some time playing with my colleague's Note 3 (which he actually uses only at home - he owns a 4S for "general use").

In the end, I decided that I want the 6 Plus for the better battery life, for the better camera and also for the advantages the screen obviously offers for web surfing and gaming. I am also hoping for a 6 Plus enhanced version of iMovie! However, I also came to the conclusion that it will require a significant change in my "smartphone lifestyle". So one purchase I made was a set of bluetooth headphones. That way, my phone can be in any pocket (including my backpack) while I listen to music or take calls, and I can use Siri to listen to my messages or to reply to them. Without this additional detail, I definitely would not have chosen the 6 Plus!

Also, the Apple Watch already figures into this. Once I have an Apple Watch, there is no reason anymore to take the phone out of my backpack unless I actually want to use it, e.g. for web browsing.

Still laughing at all those people saying the 5.5" would never sell and who wants a phablet, blah blah blah. Well, look for yourselves...

I can no longer be bashed for owning a Samsung Note device because of size! The Note 4 has a larger screen and is a little shorter. Like to see what developers do with the larger phablet size app wise. But on paper the Note 4 will be cheaper, more features and I like that oculus-rift setup.
I would have pulled the trigger on a 32GB plus at $300. $400 on contract is way to expensive for any phone. I smell a Samsung price war coming.

Amen! and your contract won't renew until the new phone is activated!

So if you sell a phone that you got on a 2 year contract, you've extended the time before you can buy another new iPhone?

No, you just have to pay the contract early termination fee. Although to keep your number you have to switch carriers. I switch between AT&T and Verizon every year, enabling me to upgrade for only about $200/year. It's a pretty small cost for a device that you carry around with you every day, and use more than any other.

Is it _selling_ for $1,450, or is someone looking for idiots buying it for $1,450?

People are bidding on them at that price. Of course that's for the 6+ 128 Gb, so about a $500 premium over the normal cost. It's always possible that the bidders won't actually pay what they promised, but I think that's generally rare.

OK, things I have learned reading the iphone 6 threads here.

1. Apple will never make a 5.5" iphone.

2. The 5.5" iphone will never sell.

3. People will return the 5.5" iphone because it's too big.

4. (I'll come back in after people get and like their 5.5" phones and there's something else to falsely predict. I'm leaning toward the 5.5" phones causing cancer or impotency)

If you are living within the EU, where you have statutory rights against the seller, you need to remember that buying a brand new iPhone from a seller on eBay instead of any store means your statutory rights are against some random person on the internet, and not against a (hopefully) reputable company. You will be unlikely to get anything if your iPhone breaks after 13 months.

I took a look and saw the last ten 6 plus transactions sold were for $1250-1350. But they varied from 64-128gb.

If these people used their upgrade discount because they didn't want a new phone anyway, it is clever. If they paid full price and are flipping it, it's not worth the hassle after fees.

Verizon..

My iPhone 6 64G left Verizon yesterday with a delivery of 09/18 by 3pm. Ordered 6+ 64G for Apple store pickup. Just to go knowing I have one. :)

My iPhone6 preorder with Verizon has already shipped. I have a tracking number and it's been picked up by Fedex in PA.

I order mine from Verizon at 3:45 - 4:10 am and still did not get any shipping confirmation also not able to check order from with my Verizon.com i order iPhone 6 128 SG and a iPhone 6+ 64GB. the iPhone 6 128 SG shows 9/19 deliver but the 6+ 10/7 no Fedex tracking yet.

I use my 5s quite comfortably for running and biking, using an armband. The 6+ would obviously be far too big for this. I'm hoping the normal 6 isn't too bad.

Anyone have thoughts on how to possibly run comfortably with a 6+? I would prefer the larger screen, but the practical ramifications are just too difficult for me to overcome at the moment. I really enjoy using Map My Run/Bike, and I don't think they would work quite right on an iPod.

I got a jump and was able to pre order two iPhone +'s 20 mins before the official 3am EST pre order on att. Still got 14-21 days. Must really be limited on the plus models. Says shipping 10/2-10/13

A Best Buy mobile rep told me they won't be getting any 6+'s next week. Apple is probably hoarding them for their stores for launch.

Takes a little over a day to ship from what I have been hearing.

and there were so many people on these forums complaining about a 5.5" iphone and that it was never gong to happen, yet it turns out to be the most popular model...

Do we know how many of the iPhone 6+ models were available? Sounds to me like most of the wireless carriers had next to no stock of the 6+ as of 9/12. Backorders of a product in short supply don't necessarily make it the most popular, just the most backordered.

There are already some armbands available for the 6 Plus, and I would not rule out that it can be comfortable without having tried it. In fact, I am considering an armband as my main carrying option to replace my breast pocket.

Just order store pick up! I just checked in New York and you are still able to pick up on the 19th with the 6 plus.

This has been bothering me. What is the point of pre-ordering online for store pickup? I thought the whole point was to NOT wait in line at a store. Serious question

If somebody is rich and they they want it now price is not a consideration.
If you live in Paris for example and you bought a iPhone 6 off eBay walk into the all you need to do is walk in to any Apple Store in the world and they will honor the warranty. Apple Warranty is world wide. I am from Canada and my phone went dead in London - walked in to Apple Store showed them my phone they punched in the serial number and I walked out with a fixed iphone.

Waiting in line for hours for a non-guaranteed product vs waiting in line for a few minutes for a guaranteed product.

Hm :p

I had the same thoughts. While I wouldn't not buy a phone for a mere $100 extra cost, it does annoy me. The base model spec should have been bumped to 32 GB, avoiding the need for most of us to leap to 64 GB. It would have only cost Apple a couple of bucks per phone, but lost them quite a lot of money in missed upsell potential. I hope a price war does kick off with Android at some point the future. The higher capacity iPhones just carry a ridiculous profit premium, especially now with the 6+.
