Something to think about

:apple:watch.... Those of you that purchased the PLUS, are you interested in the :apple:watch at all? It is mostly going to be paired with your phone. If you're looking to get the watch, you're going to need your phone on workouts etc. I just don't see people putting the 6 PLUS in there gym shorts!! I guess you will have this strapped to your arm? It is huge and would still not look good. Most likely flap around. There will have to be some kind of "pouch" made for this thing so you can wear it while working out. This was the main reason I went with the 6. It's still larger than previous design but seems small enough to still be on arm or in pocket. I fully expect to get the watch next year.

Quick question,

If we ordered the phone through a carrier, for example me in the UK through Three, when the delivery estimate was 19th September, is it likely that the order is going to get pushed back? Do they do it based on who orders when?

I am interested in the :apple:Watch, but I think I will wait for :apple:Watch 3.0 To me, it's great, but not compelling.

I stuck it out on the App Store iPhone app and got the 6p 32Gig Space Gray and it still shows 9/19 delivery
It must be because not many of us are getting the 32GB model, opting for the other non-existent 48GB model. ;-) Meant 64GB, right?

Watch doesn't interest me and neither do iPads but I have a 6+ on order.

I receive confirmation from at&t that the phone was to be delivered on 9/19/2014 but when I check on order status is showing 9/23/2014 to 10/02/2014.

I orderred 5 to 10 minutes before the official pre order time began, is a 16gb iPhone 6 space gray and a 16gb iPhone 6+ gold for my wife.

I was so excited I'm off next Friday.

I agree wholeheartedly. There are many circumstances when I would like to be able to surf and watch videos on a larger screen so the 6P is tempting. But there are also many times I want to throw my phone in a horizontal holster to keep my pockets free (like when wearing dress pants at work), or I often simply throw my phone in my shirt pocket. I too got caught up in the 6P frenzy (10/16-10/21 date), but I have been concerned I'll not be as to comfortably throw it in a shirt pocket, and I'm pretty sure a horizontal holster would look and feel rediculous.

I have 5 off contract members on my account so I also preordered a 6 to arrive 9/19. I plan to go to the store on 9/19, check out the two models and see how manageable the 6p really is. I'm hoping the decision be obvious for me after getting hold of both. Ok hope I will be able to comfortably decide that either the 6p is just too big, or I can adjust to the new real estate and be able to enjoy surfing on a larger screen.

If I decide on the 6 it will already be at my doorstep. If I decide on the 6P I will either wait a few more weeks or possibly get lucky and find one available at the store.

This all would have been much easier for Apple and it's customers if they would have given us some disay models ahead of time. Probably would have avoided all the double orders like mine and cancellations. But I guess they really don't care if people cancel-it's a pain for the sales reps, but Apple will get to report the huge preorder numbers, even though many will be cancelled.

So that's my plan anyway...

Walk in a best buy and pickup a 5.5" Android. The iPhone will be lighter and a bit thinner but generally the same.

Am I the only person waiting to actually handle them both before buying one?? :D

I preordered the plus but am fully prepared to return it if I don't like the size. The camera+screen ppi+battery life tipped the balance, but mainly the the optical image stabilization since I drink a lot of caffeine;)

The 6 plus looks just ridiculous, that is what I was saying, I can't avoid thinking about clowns (literally) when I see that kind of phones.

I don’t give a rat’s a$$ about what people think of me when the see me with the phone I chose for my needs or personal use cases. If somebody judges my character or personality by my choice of phone so be it. Might even be a good way to keep away morons.

Having said that: I’m not decided yet which it will be, 6 or 6 Plus. That’s why I ordered them both. One will go back. If I can/want to handle the dimensions of the giant then I will keep it – not only because of the bigger screen for displaying content, the better cam and the better battery. It’s the keyboard that will play an important role in my decision.

Americans tend to forget that many other languages have (from a few to many) more characters than English (in my case it’s German). That can make typing on those tiny keyboards with their small tap targets a real pest.

BTW: This may also give you an indication why your "clown phones" are so popular in Asia (not the only one but one of the reasons).

Like a lot of folks, got into AT&T's site early, ordered a silver 64GB Plus. Shows a shipping date of 10-02 to 10-13. Wonder if AT&T will do the same scenario as with the 5 and ship them earlier?

It's strange to me how people are already pre-ordering the iPhone 6 when they haven't even held it yet. I'm either going to get it or the 5S but want to feel them both first. Why not just wait a couple weeks and get the phone then?

I went to gadgethacks.com and printed a PDF with both phones actual size.If you like you can even cut them out and glue to a piece of cardboard to judge for yourself.Might save time.

Or go into a phone shop and hold the equivalent sizes from Samsung.

----------

I don't know which thread to put this.

How will 1080p movies be handled on the 6+?
Will the movie be upscaled then down sampled or will it be native 1080p.
The first option will lose quality but I guess at 5 inches you won't notice.

That will be your best bet. Holding a flimsy piece of paper won't do anything. Only thing I hate about display models is that they're tethered and the tethering mechanism is usually right in the middle of the phone. Makes it tough to hold the phone the way you normally would.

did anyone here pre order on tmobile website ? I tried so many times yesterday to upgrade my phone to the iphone 6 and nothing worked ... did anyone upgrade their phone on there yesterday ? I kept hitting the upgrade button and nothing I even got so far to enter my card info but still nothing when I hit submit

Buying ATT unlocked

I've been trying to pre-order an ATT iPhone for full price on Apple's website, but the only option I'm given is for a 2 year contract. Can't I just buy the darn phone outright and have ATT activate it?

Heard that Apple allocated 2X the number of iPhone 6s to the Chinese market then that of the U.S. market place and then the Chinese government stop Apple from selling them! That why the shortage. They are all in Chinese warehouses for the Chinese buyers. Most are iPhone 6 Plus phones. LOL!

I guess, Apple felt that the U.S. market was not as important as the Chinese market; but did not see that the Chinese government has the power to stop Apple sales. I read further on this; and Apple is trying to negotiate away to sell it but there is no give by the Chinese government! Apple should just take the half of the stock and re-language them and sell them here - where there is a shortage of supply!

Source please!

not online just at the apple store when it comes out

Still can't believe anyone would want to carry one of these phablets in their pocket all day. Sigh. I want my phone to rock and to NOT feel it. Minority I guess. Sad day for me.

Wait. It's a sad to you because I choose to carry a larger phone? Okaaaaay?

I already have 6++++ in my gym shorts.I think it looks pretty good, though I do use a "pouch"so it doesn't flap around to much.

Not a bad suggestion, but the wheels are rolling already-might as well wait till next week at this point :)
