guys they are all being ****ing refreshed, major product updates, to show the world that apple will not fail without Steve,

the only item that is unlikely to be refreshed is the macbook air, every other item on that list could have an update!

you don't believe me? Well, we'll find out in a week or so

No way!!

It's the fact that they need to load the iCloud software on every OS X product and load iOS 5 on all the iOS ones.

Don't believe me? Well you'll see out in a week or so.

Been checking up on the refurbished UK page the past 4 days and it was virtually empty apart from the odd 2nd generation iPod touch.

Now there is an overload of iPod nanos! Either people are giving 'em in to get ready for the iPod refresh or Apple simply updated the Refurbished site.

iPods and iPhones are getting a refresh -- obviously

iPads 2's are getting iOS 5 installed

Macs are getting updated Lion with iCloud

Apparently, Mac Mini is not getting iCloud :(

That doesn't make any sense....

I've never appreciated the fascination with boot times. Probably because I only boot my computer a couple times a week, if that. My iPhone 4 takes just as long to boot as my MBP.
Same here. My MBP boots in about one second. That is because it's always just sleeping instead of shutdown.

MacBook Air's actually boot much quicker than iPhones, especially with Lion installed.

But yes, given that most people sleep their Macs and rarely reboot, boot time isn't that critical an issue. However SSDs make every disk-based activity much faster - things like starting applications and switching between them, navigating in Finder, etc. Getting rid of all those small disk delays really adds up. My Air often seems smoother and nicer to use than my iMac for this reason, despite the iMac having more RAM and a much faster CPU!

Just Because......

This is all just because Apple Europe (Cork, Ireland) has a major Issue with their software at the moment, and they are working day & night on it....

The suite SAP they use has had a crash, and that is why they can't send shipments out.... this problem first occured friday 2 sept....

That is why all the Apple Store's and APR's in Europe hasn't received any orders from that date.

I'm in the US store and it says 2-3 weeks for all iPads right now. Unless I get it engraved, then it says 24 hours. huh?

Strange. Usually it ends up the other way around. Based on what others have said in this thread, I'm getting the impression that the shipping estimates are very inconsistent.

Although they could do the Mac iCloud thing via software update, I beleive you are correct in them preinstalling it that way it'll "just work" out of the box. As for IOS 5, that's obvious; why release the new product without the new software designed for it?

End of Apple's physical year

Apple likes to shutdown the year in short supply. It looks good in the Books if you don't have to large a inventory. So at the end of september each year supplies get short.

Its a bitch if you are a dealer and are waiting on backorders for apple accessories like mice so that they can look good for Wallstreet. With time you develop strategies by ordering lots ahead but that doesn't always work.

But then again Apple has never been great at delivering on-time or enough to cover demand. But like the weather you can't change it.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

It's been like this for two days in New Zealand.

So a little but exciting

Could be iOS 5, Mac OSX(cant remember the numbers) and icloud?

Apple may ship faster than they say!

This summer I ordered a BTO iMac. Given that it included an SSD, the Apple Store said 4-to-6 weeks production time, then the additional time in-transit.

In reality, around a week after I placed the order I received e-mail saying my iMac had just shipped from China (to U.S.) and would be delivered in 2 days. It was.

So while there may indeed be some delays, Apple seems to be a bit conservative in its estimates, at least for BTO items.

Hmm, interesting. Engraved means you can't return it and everyone knows that. But unengraved means that they know you are returning it when iPad 3 gets announced in two weeks. I'm just speculating, but that is the first reason that came to mind to me. But if Apple can spring an iPad 3 on us in three weeks without any leaks about it being this close, then they will have truly become Ninja. However, they seem to be able to make 150,000 iPhone 5s with only one getting lost in a bar and they were on that sucker fast enough to scare it completely underground, so maybe they can be getting ready to announce some different.

Most likely, they are changing their delivery structure in order to better handle surges like iPhone and iPads and that is globally throwing off their current delivery structure. It is probably something boring like upgrading backoffice deliver software.

Yes! and the new mini will use an ARM CPU so they'll call it an Arm Mac and reprise the burning bunny guy. Oh, and since Jobs is out, iPads will get Flash.
