The problem is partly ads and lots of JavaScript and underlying trackers that constantly analyze where you move your mouse, what you click on, on every single page. It’s really lame. I get why they do it but that’s what causes lots of the heating and constant cpu cycles.
It’s funny, because Apple would not approve of this type of behavior.

When ip13p is charging (via Lightning 20W) i think its cooler than on The same usage pattern on Battery. Anyone Noticed that? I think ios15 has some kind of Bug that is affecting our Ip13 pros Battery.

Is this pretty good battery life you think? 3 hours and 45 minutes screen on time today with 70% battery left? Kind of intermittent use though as I was working all day. This is the regular 13 pro not the max.

No idea why my new 13 Pro had poor battery life out of the box and no, it wasn't during the initialization phase. The second full battery cycle drained very quickly, but I let it drain all the way and charged it back up to 100%. The next cycle, it has lasted with heavier usage for about 7 hours of SoT, so it looks like the battery just needed some time and a full cycle did seem to help!

What kind of battery life are people seeing on their new iPhone 13 Pro?

I’ve lost 50% of my battery life in barely 2 hours (it also it quite warm to the touch). All I’ve been doing is looking at the MacRumors website. :(
Earlier today I just the phone consistently for 4h56m. Just doing email, surf the internet, Reddit and macrumors - still 87% battery and no warming.

I have the 13 pro max which is supposed to be the best battery in an iPhone. I get the same if not worse than my Xs max with 89% health. I talked to Apple today and ofc the standard response to restore. I will wait for iOS 15.1 or whatever comes out soon to see if it fixes.

but I get 7hrs of screen on time with 30% left. This is with light usage, no intense apps, 5G off, brightness at 50%. No where near anyone else on the pro max thread. Just wanted to share what Apple said.

Mine are doing much better after 4 days. I’m actually impressed with how long they are lasting.

Today will be my 4th full day. I hope I start to see some improvements.🙏🏼
Here is my battery usage from when I got it last Friday until now. The same usage on Sunday through Monday but less battery used.

That’s what I wanted to see! Thanks!

one last question: did you start from clear or any other type of restore? iCloud or from pc/Mac?
I had it automatically copy everything from my old iPhone X to my new iPhone 13 Pro.

Wanted to chime in and update that my battery life on the 13 Pro has also stabilized quite a bit. This is my current usage, which is quite nice compared to the first few days. It was initially terrible.

Fresh install or Backup?
Wifi?

It makes me a little nervous that nobody else has responded that they are also seeing the really warm temperatures and fast battery life drain. But, I will give a few days and see if things improve. Hopefully I didn’t get a lemon.
My 13 Pro was very hot when I first got it during set up and cloud restoring but that was a few days ago. I am on day 3 and the phone no longer gets hot to the touch anymore, I believe it was doing all that indexing and restoring apps. I will report back if I have any other issues, battery life seems to be beginning to stable itself out.

I would just wait it out if you are within your return window you can try to swap it out with Apple. Here are my battery stats but not accurate since I accidentally placed it on my wireless charger a few times lol, I usually unplug it so it's not charging all the time, I will get better stats soon after I am able to collect more accurate battery stats.

Omg. Like hoooww? These improvement messages gives me hope. It’s my 4th day And I still can’t even get near to these numbers On my pro. Hope to see soon.
these numbers make me think that I got a lemon instead of pro 😂

I knowww, I keep seeing them and there giving me a tiny bit of hope. My 5th day now… no improvements, terrible battery life . Looks like I will be going into Vodafone and swapping my lemon for an actual 13 pro

Day 4 for me and I’m very pleased. I think I’d return yours and get a new one.

Just look at the degradation difference between this and mine. Like how the hell?

It's still not too late to return it and go Max
Then you shouldn’t have to worry about battery life at all. However, for me, the Pro version already almost feels like a brick (compared to my iPhone X). I’d like the bigger screen and battery life of the Pro Max but there is no way I want my iPhone to weigh any more than the Pro already does.

I’m so thenkful that the battery life on my Pro has stabilized to an acceptable level.
