so i have the iphone pro 13 max but i must admit i love the mini, i use to have the 12 mini and kinda regret not getting the 13 mini, but i really hate the fact that it there is not going to be 14 mini? should i just get the 13 mini and enjoy it while i can?
A good reason NOT to upgrade to whatever options the 14 will have. I'm not going any bigger than 5.4". If I skip the coming new series because of this, it will be the FIRST new model I've missed since I bought my 3G model years ago.

Rather than a huge phone for media consumption in bed, isn't it easier to have a Mini Phone for portability and a cheap iPad for media in bed? Even the smallest iPad is bigger than the Max iPhone and even an iPad with a great screen is also cheaper than an iPhone. iPhone Mini + iPad seems like the winning combo for those that want both.
Ain’t that the truth—13 mini paired with 9th gen. “budget” iPad is a winning combo in my personal experience! :)

I’ve been verrrry tempted to get the 13 mini also. I had the iPhone 12 and upgraded to the 13 Pro because I felt like I was missing out on the “Pro” features. Even if I don’t use them that much, it’s nice having them there in case I want to. The mini just keeps calling my name because I while the 13 Pro is a great phone, I know I’d love having a lighter, more comfortable in hand phone. For some reason I don’t totally buy that they will not make another mini next year. It sure is a good way to drive up sales if we all think that, though.

The mini is a perfect phone for being just that a phone... Easy to carry, great to use with one hand. The only thing that kind of sucks at is Media consumption.
Sorry but this is your pov.
I’ve purchased a 512 13 mini two days ago to replace my 2016 SE, with iOS battery drain, and mini seems to me like a Pro Max.
And for REAL media consumption everything under 40” is silly, and I’ve worked for years as a video maker with 30” Apple Cinema Displays..

Of course the bigger the better that's a dumb comment. But we're talking about phones aren't we? So if we are then I'd rather watch videos on a bigger phone than the iPhone mini. I clarify that that's my opinion don't get your panties up in a bunch

I have a 12 mini. I don't use my phone for much, it's just a tool for reading websites/email/maps/texts/music/weather and sometimes videos. I use the camera occasionally but just as a tool for information, not really to take nice pictures of places.

To me it boils down to a question of is the phone your main 'computer'... if you live on your phone a bigger screen seems a natural fit. But if it's more utilitarian and you like to do more 'computery' things on laptop/desktop or tablet... the mini is a great fit.

How some people use their phone, I use my MacBook Air... I carry it with me everywhere and have it ready to go for anything more advanced than looking up the weather. I do 90% of my text messages on it.

For me, the mini is the best it'll ever be for a phone I guess. I think the 6 size is uncomfortable to hold but manageable, and anything bigger than that is silly. I kinda get the bigger phones though, if you are resigned to it being unwieldy you might as well get it as large as possible. They should just put grips on the thing like a video game controller...

My primary reason for a mini is because I get around by bicycle, and I want as small a device as possible in my pocket. Going way back I had a Samsung S3... which I think is about the same size as a iPhone 6... and that felt like a giant slab in pocket biking around... I can't imagine a bigger one.

Also I'm a person of a bygone time where the best tech is always in the smallest design possible.

I know the mini is way more phone than I need right now, and just plan to use it until Apple stop supporting it. I'll either perpetually get battery replacements or get a lightly used 13 mini.

Ok bigger it’s better, but the point is that 5,4” vs 6,7” is not so different in term of media consumption, I can understand 8,3”~12,9” of iPads or Macs but on phone segment I can’t appreciate the differences.
Points of views.
For dumb panties I don’t have a word.

I am pretty sure Apple will revisit the iPhone Mini idea in a few years for a few reasons:

1. The regular iPhone, Pro and Max slowly keeps on getting larger and heavier. People will still be drawn towards a smaller more pocketable iPhone
2. The current Mini users will need to upgrade at some point and if you love the Mini size, you will still want a Mini.

So it is a guaranteed sale from Apple, although it might not be worth coming up with a Mini every year, maybe every 3 years or so.

I currently have 13 pro max and picked up a iPhone 13 mini today. I still use my 13 pro max as my main. I will have different uses for my mini.

Same as me! How do you alternate between the 2? I always miss the one I’m not using!

Flexible Arm

That’s the one I purchased but there are plenty to choose from on eBay.

It’s a great accessory for late at night when I am trying to nod off sleep.
I used that kind of flexible arm, but the metal core tends to break after a while when you bend it back and forth each day. I switched to one of these, which also extend a bit further while still remaining stable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P8YHKLF/

I initially went with a 13 Mini at launch before settling on a 13 Pro Max, *had a 12 Pro Max before*. The thing I don't like about the 13 Mini is the camera. It has the same one on the iPhone 12 Pro max, which does not auto focus on close up shots, something they fixed on the 13pm with macro mode.

Yeah, the one I have is a cheapo flexible arm and the one you have posted looks a lot better. If this thing breaks I will definitely replace it with the one you’ve recommended.

I just picked up the 13 mini as my secondary to my 13 pro max… the mini will be great for vacations and times when the big phone will be a hassle to lug around ..the 13 mini is actually faster than the 12 pro and 12 pro max .

Honestly the mini camera is pretty good it’s the same as the 12 pro max minus the zoom .. figure if I loose my phone on vacation rather be the mini than my almost 2 k pro max …

The way sales are going for the SE I seriously doubt it
Well, the SE is a 4.7" screen while the '13 Mini is a 5.4"er which might have something to do with the low sales rate of the SE and to a lesser low sales rate of the '13 Mini.
