I see, so you take it out every day, but it could stay in your vehicle, say if you stop by to get groceries.
So I think a lot of people mean “everywhere” figuratively to mean a lot of places. Obviously no one can mean it truly literally because there are very infrequent special situations where you can’t bring anything, not even a phone, but just speaking in terms of daily/weekly/monthly routine, there might be some who literally take it everywhere. I just wish I could know who those people are and ask them how they do it haha. Maybe I’ll make a survey thread. Maybe I already have and I forgot lol. Ah whatever, I’m too lazy. I guess I’m not that curious.
Well, I essentially have been taking it everywhere, even in the grocery store. I leave it open to my shopping list in my cart. I hand carried it into friend’s or family's houses. To be honest, I can’t remember a single place I’ve been without it since I purchased it.

Interesting. Restaurants? Bank? Gym?

I don’t go to the bank or to public gyms. I haven’t been to a formal restaurant since getting the iPad but I have been in less formal places such as pizzerias and I have taken it in with me every time, perfect place to do some work.

Interesting. I have genuinely never seen an iPad out in the wild. The only people I see walking about with iPads are workers doing door-to-door and canvassing the area for business.

My iPad has never left the house. I have brought it out on trips, etc… but it has never left the hotel. I mean, your phone is essentially a portable iPad in a far more convenient and mobile form-factor. I see you’re working around the clock on your iPad, which is fair… and very efficient. But if it were for leisure rather than work, I see no reason to lug around an iPad on your person at all times.

I guess it depends on your usage. I can be far more productive and do what I need to far easier on my iPad mini than my iPhone. I also don’t consider it “lugging it around”. It’s small and lightweight and carrying it is easier than anyone holding a purse or briefcase as many people do their entire lives.

With that said, I am not sure exactly where I’m going to go with this. At first I was thinking about trading my iPhone 13 pro max for an iPhone 13 mini since I have the iPad mini to do work with. But after many people here helped me understand that wouldn’t go well due to various programs and rebates, I’m just going to stick with the iPhone 13 pro max. So having a larger phone, maybe I’ll stop bringing the iPad mini with me so many places.

Well the iPad won’t fit in your pocket unlike your phone so unless you carry a satchel everywhere, you will be lugging it around. If I were you I would keep your 13PM and use that when you’re away from home. The screen is a good size for leisure and productivity and it’ll save you from carrying two devices wherever you go.

I have a Mini also and I would consider it too big to take everywhere with me. If I was in your situation though and had to carry out productivity tasks when out and about, I would consider it. But then, I would probably just invest in a 13PM.

so i have the iphone pro 13 max but i must admit i love the mini, i use to have the 12 mini and kinda regret not getting the 13 mini, but i really hate the fact that it there is not going to be 14 mini? should i just get the 13 mini and enjoy it while i can?
Why the huge leap from mini to max? I personally think in a few years the SE will have the mini form factor to bring Face ID to the SE line.

Lurking in this thread, haha. Came close many times to getting a Mini. I've had my 13 Pro Max since launch and love it, but it's just too large I'm finding, especially when I'm out and need to use a hand quickly. Pop socket is a life saver, but it adds more weight.

Ordered a 13 Pro that delivers today, and will try it out before buying the Mini. I am one who notices higher refresh rate and can't go back I don't think, and would like as much battery life as possible. More likely to keep the Pro than the Mini and don't want to do a wasteful return, so went with my gut and ordered a Pro.

This exactly described my life on the iPhone 12 last year, certain activities were so unsatisfactory on the smaller screen, I lugged my iPad Pro with me when I was out and about. Thankfully switching to the 13 Pro Max has reversed this situation and I for one am glad!

Yeah, I’ve come to terms with The fact that I’ll have my 13 Pro Max for the next three years so I will use it as my “take everywhere“ device and cut back on taking the iPad mini with me everywhere.

I think it’s good you’re trying the pro first. Based on what you say, it seems like it’s probably a better fit for you than the mini is.

I've just gone the other way. Used my 13 Mini for a week but missed my 13 Pro Max. Love the bigger screen. Mini is great if you travel a lot but me mainly working from home the Max is just better. That said, I might miss the mini in a week or so!!!

Just reading this thread. I played phone games last spring, but I’ve been pretty pleased with my 13 pro - even thinking of going pro max this fall, although a bit leary of the weight.

That being said, I’m planning to give my granddaughter a phone later this year, and was gonna get her a mini, so I’m considering ordering one and using it for a few months then passing it to her when I upgrade to whatever 14 I decide to go with. Just thinking it might be a nice change of pace to have something lighter to tote around.

I liked reading all the various input and experiences here.

I liked the Mini, but switched to the pro 6.1. I like the pro, but I miss a lighter phone.

The 5,8 11 pro was great… apple has it on the refurbished store, but seems too expensive, is going to be 3 years old soon…
