What phone you using at the moment? your correct one is broken\dead and you NEED a replacement right now? or you can wait till September?

Either way at this point i wound get the SE, unless you getting really good price\discount for the 7.

I recently down sized from a 7 plus to an SE. It was a good move and made sense for my usage profile. The SE is refreshing to use for core phone activities - phone, messages, music, snap shots.

I've heard people say you can't go back to a small phone after using a phablet. I took them up on their word, tried a 6s plus for 3 months, hated the size, sold it, took a big loss, and went back to my 5s. But it was so worth it. It was like coming home again. Phablets just aren't for some people. For me, one handed phone 4eva (now have an SE). Maybe some people don't want another device, but I'm more than happy to switch to my iPad when I want a bigger screen.

The SE to me has one major factor. One handed use. I own the 7 Plus currently and it's great. But the SE doesn't fatigue my hands the way the Plus does. Both Phones have their advantages and disadvantages. But having the SE is about the comfort for me. Even though the Plus has its advantages with the 1080 display and other features.

If it had top specs (great camera, display, and fastest processor) it would be a no-brainer. There's no reason why it can't have any of those IMO.
If you are the type that chases specs Iphones are not the path. Android and Samsung play that game well.

It's really a perfect phone. And I came from a 5.5" iPhone.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it perfect. If a new iPhone came out that was the same size but full edge to edge screen with force touch and better camera, then perfect would be close.

A friend of mine just upgraded from his 5c to an SE and is very happy with it, not at all liking the trend to big phones at all.

Now that a lot of phone makers are shrinking bezels there is a great opportunity for smaller devices.

Yes, I'm getting tired of these behemoth phones as well. I say to them, why not just buy a damn tablet.

He he I am really happy with my 7 plus but you know different strokes...this friend always asks me how I can manage with such a big phone that bulges out of my pocket (no jokes please). :D

I get some comments when people see my phone, they are almost disgusted with my tiny phone :p

The iPhone SE is for budget consumers, reflected in its price.

I'd wait 8 weeks or so for the new devices.

I use the SE because of its size. Im athletic and run up stairs, jump over fences and barriers etc The SE is the only phone that can sit in my front jeans pocket and allow me to do these things. The 4 series was even better. To me its a phone not a stare at all day long cause my eye sight is so bad give me a bigger screen baby sitting device that doesn't allow me to run.

Yeah I can't handle that size either. Just impossible for me. I have a tablet for viewing pleasure out and about, the phone is my workhorse.

Lol. Which phone are you using now? SE?

It's less of a lame duck than the SE.
Er, no. The 7 is stupidly expensive still and actually offers very little over the SE other than the bigger screen. There's no great performance difference. Both have the same RAM. The A9 has fewer pixels to push and is still a very strong chip (also the backbone of the new iPad so will be supported for many years). The SE itself will carry on until next March at least before any replacement is in sight, whereas the 7 will be reduced to last years model in a matter of weeks, the big difference being that the SE is stupidly cheap now but they're still pricing the 7 like a brand new flagship.

I think the SE (especially now with the bigger storage options) is the best value for money product Apple have offered in a long time, and I'd recommend people jump on it while it lasts.

Battery life, one handed use, headphone jack - all big plus points for the humble SE.

Good device if you're on a budget, I say. Personally I couldn't use a 4" screen, the old style home button or inferior camera of the SE. I did have both at one stage.

I'm supposed to say you're entitled to your opinion I guess, but really.. you "couldn't use" a physical home button as found on every other iPhone aside from the 7 (not to mention every single iPad)?

You "couldn't use" a camera that was class leading on the 6S just two years ago?

Seems to me you mostly just don't like the size, and maybe the fact that you perceive it as "budget" - each to their own.

For all of these reasons I might end up getting one next depending on what's released at the keynote event.

Same here. SEs are a size that's easy to work with. I waited with a 4S for years because Apple released the 6 and 6+ and I just didn't want a phone that large, and there were enough people saying the same as I was thinking for there to be a gap in the market Apple had to eventually fill. When the SE first came out I jumped at the 64GB model, and I'm still extremely happy with it.

And I feel I need to point out that I bought it sim-free from Apple and paid £430 up front for it. It wasn't about the money, I just wanted the device that worked for me.

I had the 6 and sold it when the SE came out. I liked the 6 at first due to the screen. Then after a while I noticed how awkward it was to live my life with it in my pocket due to the reasons I gave above. When I got my SE the moment I walked out of the shop with it I remembered how much I loved it. I never loved my 6. It had zero apple magic.
I also bought my SE sim free.

Perfect is subjective. But it is a great phone for those who can appreciate the form factor coupled with a smaller display. If one can appreciate iPhone SE without having the latest specifications and capabilities, then by all means, it has its advantages.

Well, it is budget, not necessarily a bad choice but it does look like it's straight out of 2012.
