I like the present form factor but I think Apple can squeez in a taller screen, loose some of the bezel on the top and bottom. Or maybe do away with a physical Home Button to gain some screen real estate.

Definitely a bigger screen please.

A tablet is not a solution, anyone who says "get an iPad" does not understand why people want a bigger phone screen.

Ive heard over and over again why it is better to retain 3.5 inch screen and have 326 dpi instead of 4 inch screen with 288 dpi. I disagree with this, and would like to explain to you why, by comparing an iPhone screen to a partially covered iPad screen.

Our iPad screen has 768 pixels in 148 mm on the short side, and 1024 pixels over 197 mm on the long side. To make our iPhone 4 (which has 640 pixels on the short side and 960 pixels on the long side) comparable to iPad in total pixel count, I'm going to ask you to cover up 25 mm on the short side and 12 mm on the long side

Now, you tell tell me which screen you would prefer to use? The uncovered portion of the iPad screen having 960x640 pixels left, or the iPhone screen which also has 960x640 pixels count?

To me, it's a no brainer, iPad screen is better. Tying is easier, buttons are easier to press, pictures are more fun to look at, and text are so much easier to read, despite the fact that I can see the dots.

The "it's becoming a brick" excuse is laughable. Just look at how pocketable SGS2 is. As long as its thin and light, 4 inch phone is going to be smaller than SGS2, which already is highly pocketable.

Technically, its downgrading. Steve will have thought about iPhone 5, 5S, 6, etc and if they were to have bigger screens, he'd have done it in the iPhone 4 itself. That way they don't have to "downgrade" the screen in future revisions.

4.0"+ screen is more of tablet size than a smartphone, the experience would be intermediate of a phone and tablet. Instead you can get a tablet with 10" screen which offers full tablet experience. It really doesn't make sense to have something in between a smartphone and tablet.

4" is far from tablet sized. That's not even debatable.

Here we go again, everyone comparing a 4" iPhone to an iPad. Please. It will happen and you will love it.

You must've slept through 2008, when Apple skipped iPhone 2.

They didn't skip 1 or 2 einstein
The original iphone ran on edge, and was NOT called iphone1
The next iphone ran on 3g, and was NOT called iphone2

Was the original iphone named "iphone1"?
No it wasn't, so if they didn't skip iphone1, how can they skip iphone2 -

Bigger provided the dimensions of the handset remain the same...

Agree 100%. They can do it. I returned my Galaxy S II for a couple of reason and one was the large size. Not comfortable with it being too large. Just my preference.

Count on the screen size changing in iPhone 5, not only because... well just because, but odds are that iPhone 5 will have a 720p screen.

Wanting a screen so big that it results in a bigger device is a bit like saying you want your household & car keys to be bigger. Annoying!

I would prefer to keep the same size screen, 3.7 max. My reasoning:

1. One-handed operation. Much of my usage happens while having a drink or some food. I'd like to keep it that way.
2. It spends more time in my pocket than anywhere else.
3. A screen to the edge would make it impossible to use that case design I prefer.

If anything, I'd like the same size screen in a smaller device.

What?! It's not like that at all. Having a bigger key serves no function, but a bigger screen does. That's a terrible analogy.

I said "a bit like". This is true. It's a highly portable device that many (most?) people take everywhere just like their keys.

Yes, there is a huge benefit to having a larger screen. But there is a significant tradeoff. Too much of a tradeoff.

I'm going with no, or at least I will say the phone should not get physically larger. If they can enlarge the screen within the same overall case dimensions, that would be fine.

In you opinion. To me, it's a very small trade off, if that. A 4" device is still just as portable and usable to many people. It's subjective, there is no right answer.

I voted to keep it the same, the size of the iPhone is just fine with my. If they were to reduce the bezel and keep the same form factor, that is fine as well, but I really don't want to see the overall size of the device increase by anything substantial.

I have an iPad, and I am looking at maybe getting a 7" device of some sort, but frankly the iPhone is as big of a device as I would want to attach to my belt.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy a phone with a screen bigger than 4". If I want a bigger screen, I'll use my iPad. I was the phone to fit nicely in my pocket and in my hand. It is inevitable that they will add a larger screen I just hope it is 4" or smaller in size. They do not need to try to keep up with every spec of these ugly android phones (processor speeds, ram, screen size, etc.) to produce a higher quality, better performing phone.

When's the last you saw Apple to back a step? They won't take off 1080p it's a sales point.
