Just upgrade every year and never worry about timing your upgrades perfectly again!![]()
Why is it crazy to use a device for that long?I was highly considering the 14 Pro Max because I still have the 7+ which works just fine. I might wait another year. I know, it's crazy holding for that long but I'm glad I did. I truly believe you should hold on to your devices as long as you can if they address the needs you have. Otherwise.... waste IMO.
Hey - Which one did you order? I am upgrading from 7 plus and was super tempted for the 48mpx camera ..but still debate.. ThanksI’m the type that never shops based on rumors. I buy what I want/need, now. In our specific case, we are upgrading from the iPhone 8 Plus. I couldn’t really care less about next years iPhone. The same thing will apply in about 3-4 years from now.![]()
I guess for the folks that do yearly updates, it's crazy. lolWhy is it crazy to use a device for that long?
What makes you think the 16, 17, 18 etc will be worse than it?The iPhone 15 Line up will be the best iPhone Apple will ever work on.

I hope Apple uses Titanium Chassis. Please make it happen, Apple. Make the Pro models more exclusive like the Apple Watch Ultra.
I just ordered a 14 Pro, I have a 13 Pro at the moment, a waste of money? Yes, of course it is but I can afford it and if the iPhone 15 is that "wow" worthy, I will do the same again. One doesn't know how long one is going to be on this earth and if we are frightened to buy now because there may be a "killer" upgrade next time, we will wait forever.
No point calling me a fool for upgrading a year old phone. I already know it.
Same here. Not upgrading until they dump lightning
I agree. Once the USB-C law comes into effect wouldn't they then have to discontinue the 15 entirely if it had Lightning? If they're transitioning to USB-C, it really makes no sense to have a year or two where one iPhone model has USB-C and the other doesn't. It would just confuse people, and it's terrible as a "Pro" differentiator.
