In order for a cased iPad to fit in the dock, Apple would have had to design the dock with that in mind. The naked iPad fits the dock perfectly/snugly, so it doesn't wobble around while it's sitting in it. If Apple would have allowed space for a case, the iPad, as they designed it, would not fit into their own dock.

iPhones/iPod touches also do not fit into their dock if they have a case on them. If you want to dock a cased iPhone/touch, you have to take the case off.

Ah, I see. Didn't know that the docks were that tight of a fit. Thanks.

I found this one at Best Buy for $15, it was by the portable dvd players. It fits like it was made for the iPad.

incase neoprene slip sleeve plus

I bought the incase slip sleeve plus and am quite happy with it. People have complained about the top flap not covering the entire ipad, but mine does. Additionally, it's pretty easy to get on and off you just have to make sure the back of the ipad is on the side where the slit is. It came with a bendable stand for the ipad but that doesnt seem too stable!

It'll likely stretch out.

I'm still looking for the one case to be the end all.

I have this case and it is crap! I shipped mine back to Apple. Maybe I got a bad one, but I wasn't impressed by it. I also purchased the Incase Sleeve Plus and that was is badly made. I have a feeling Incase rushed their product to market just to offer something. Did they even have a prototype of an iPad to test it on? Sure doesn't appear so.

I just purchased the Belkin Grip Swell at Best Buy and really like it. Am just now waiting for the InivsibleShield which they told me should be in stock on friday. I may also just bite the bullet and get an incase sleeve or some other brand. We'll see, most likely I'll take my iPad to the best buy and fit it into each case till one satisfies me.

The back is a bit textured in like waves so you can easily feel that and surprisingly makes holding the iPad easier than just by itself. For me at least. The back aluminum doesn't have much grip. Admittedly, it's really thin too which I both like and dislike. I like it cause it keeps the same form of the iPad, I don't feel like this case added any bulk at all. Though it's so thin I'm not sure if it would provide much protection if it was to fall to the ground.

I got the Apple case for now. I like that M-Edge Executive Jacket, so I put in my email address to be notified when it's out. I might have to switch to that.

But I got the Apple one because I'm trying to keep this iPad in mint condition so I can sell it off when my 3G gets here.

I'm going to opt for the Apple case, i think it looks really slick!
Coupled with my diesel shoulder bag that looks a bit like this:

If the dimensions on the specs page are correct it should fit inside. :)

Very mursey....just sayin. Better here amongst friends.

Review of Case Logic E-Sling Medium

I got something (apparently discontinued) that is a cross between this bag and this bag. But more the size of the first one. Haha, apparently they have rebranded my bag into an iPad bag and removed the flip over magnetic messenger bag style thing. It doesn't have the extra two strips of padding like the large one either, but my medium one does. I got it for $35 at Best Buy. They had one for $25 that is small that seems similar to this one that is a tighter fit. The smaller one holds the iPad and the bluetooth keyboard (barely--it slightly stretches when you zip closed), but I took it back because I wanted to have enough room to store papers that I get in class (or am bringing to turn in) without folding them up.

I really like my medium sized case as it holds the iPad fine in the Apple case and stores the keyboard without it stretching, along with little extra pockets. The metal mesh pocket is nice for keeping headphones in, it has two pen holders, and nice pockets to store an iPhone snug and keys. Its black with a nice red interior. It is simple but looks nice. As for long-term durability, we'll see.

Case-logic doesn't seem to be the fanciest brand, but it seems to offer nice protection, magnetic latches for the flap, and lots of little pockets: two sections, one for iPad, one for keyboard / papers, two zippered pockets: one external and one internal, two exterior velcro pockets, and five open internal pockets, one of which seems made for an iPhone and a mesh one for headphones, and two elastic pen holders. My only real complaint is that the shoulder strap isn't padded or removable but it is adjustable. Anyone have suggestions for a padded snap on for the strap?

Again, I have this first one, but with extra padding liner and magnetic flap of the second one, which I feel makes it nicer:

Those uncommon ones are pretty cool. Thats all i want to protect, the back which is where it'll get scratched from being put down and slid along hard surfaces etc.

x2 - bought this one from the Apple Store for too much money, but its well protected and will travel well.

I bought this at Best Buy though it said 10.2 inches, not sure if the Apple store one was specifically for the iPad cause i do find that there is still a bit of room left in it when the iPad is in it closed...not too big of a deal but still ya know?

I may take it back within the 14 days if something better comes out.

I just bought this sleeve. It is actually an inch or more taller than the iPad. The top flap which covers the sleeve opening extends quite below the opening. This makes it kind of difficult to keep the iPad in or take it out fast ; You have to flex it quite a bit at the top.

I am planning to return it and may be buy the Belkin Jumper sleeve.
