I picked up a Built NYC neoprene case today at Staples for $15. It is the 10" Netbook sleeve but when I looked it up it is the same exact dimensions as their iPad sleeve (which is marked up $10 of course). It is a snug fit and will work fine for the time being for basic protection around the house or for putting into a larger bag. The zipper is a little large so I'm being careful when putting it in or taking it out. It also serves as a nice soft spot to set the iPad down when I'm not using it for a few minutes.

It seems like the essential problem with many of the flip style cases is if the front cover can fold all the way over, with as small a profile as possible.

I've seen some that look like you'd end up holding the case open as if reading a magazine or newspaper.

If the cover can't fold flat, the case is going to be incredibly awkward during the many landscape/portrait roundtrips during a typical iPad session.

I also got this one :)

ipadder, where/how did you get it? Their website is seriously hosed up—if you put something in the shopping cart, a white page with a W appears. No way to see if you have it or not. Also no phone number anywhere on their site....same white page appears if you send an email (as noted on their contact page, but still).

I’m leaving for Asia in 10 days and am desperate to find a cover that includes a decent kickstand (gonna be watching a few movies during the 20+ hours in flight). Help.

I just received the Macally MetroLpad from Amazon for $24 along with a $12 neoprene case. I've tried many cases already and this is by far my favorite combo. I do recommend the Incase convertible if you must buy at the store. Definitely a great case but expensive and didn't "lock" into place. Kept sliding down. Apple's case had rough edges that bothered me, And the Belkin grip vue was too expensive for what it is.

This macally metrolpad is definitely a winner. I showed it to family and friends and convinced 8 people already to get it!! I use the neoprene case when I throw it in my bag for school, but have traveled without the neoprene case as well. David Pogue was right, this thing is built like a tank as is, and the Macally case just reinforces that notion along with not taking away ANY function or style. Get it!!!!

<snip>

This sleeve looks nice.

Staples website has Built NY 10" Netbook Sleeve listed with (W)8.75" x (H)11.4" x (D)1". But on the Built NY website, the same 10" Netbook Sleeve is listed with W 10.25” x L 12.5” x D 1”. They have the iPad sleeve listed with W 8.75" x H 11.4" x D 1". It is confusing.

Can you tell me the internal dimensions printed on the card that came with the sleeve?

The one I got has the smaller dimensions. I think they may have rebranded the original netbook sleeve size as the iPad sleeve and are now selling a slightly larger one for netbooks.

I just ordered this one: http://www.hdaccessory.com/servlet/the-3102/Apple-iPad-W-dsh-Fi-WiFi/Detail

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the four corner straps which hold the iPad in place. If they're a little too weak maybe I can try and get a little creative and make a fix for it, if not, I'll just return it. They have a decent selection of cases on the site too.

This case looks nice for $30. I never heard of hdaccessory.com- are they reliable? I wish amazon sold this so I could return easily if cheap. I only wonder if you can open the cover and completely wrap it to the back of the iPad, so you don't have an "open book" all the time.

Please let us know how you like it!

I bought this case today at the fossil store. The leather was so soft and gorgeous and had a beautiful aroma. The case is padded and the ipad fits like a glove without adding a lot of bulk.

I posted this one on page 2 I guess. I bought the navy and it's true, it's beautiful, leather and not that expensive

so far ive only seen 2 cases that have the ability to angle the ipad for typing and one is the apple case. anyone know of more of these?

Can you tell us how thin it is? I'm looking for a thin clear case that doesn't take away from the design of the ipad. thanks!

So I just got my Marware Eco-Vue case and I am TOTALLY loving it!

I'm typing this in my iPad now, using the stand feature intended for typing and i am typing about as fast as I usually do on a regular keyboard. :)

I highly recommend this case, free shipping too!

Can you post a pic of it in the typing mode? You intrigued me w/ your post and checked the Marware Eco-Vue iPad site but the one photo link thats broken is the "Typing mode"
