Anyone know where to get the Apple iPad Case? The one FROM Apple? I know they have them online but it takes 3-4 weeks and my iPad will be here in 1-1/2 weeks. Thanks..

Also the one above me (The Camel) is awesome as well. Keeping an eye on that one too.

IMHO that Simplism case looks rather thick and bulky... Although the Apple case isn't perfect it definitely has advantages, one being that it provides flexibility in use without excess bulk.

I agree, unfortunately they're sold out of the apple case at the store near me in San Diego. I figured I'll hold out for the quirky case as it's only a few bucks more and hopefully very usable with the least amount of bulk.

Simplism and mifi card?

Thanks for the pics of the simplism folio. Can a mifi card fit in the pockets without damaging the screen. The mifi card is about .5 inch thick
Thanks

Any questions please let me know and I will answer to the best of my ability.

A few easy and fast answers, no it does not have a stand for typing or watching movies.
From the looks texture and smell yes it is leather as it claims on the case.

Wow looks like a great case, thanks for the pictures. Does it fold back?

Here are my cases. I switch colors to match my iPhone. I also have the sleeve from Cimo USA and can fit nicely with this case.

dont mean to be rude, but you just took a very sexy ipad and made it pretty ugly. Why add all the bulk?

I myself got a Macally bookstand and pre ordered a Quirky Cloak when it comes.

Macally should be here next week I'll post pics.

I enjoy the color of that case, but personally am more towards a darker brown. My Griffin Elan Passport looks kinda similar but it has 4 small little straps to hold the iPad, whereas the pics above seem to show that the case adds bulk overall.

I do love my Griffin Elan Passport!

I really like that case! I'd rather it be black or dark brown, however.

My main purpose for the iPad is something to carry around for a calendar, appointments, a to-do list and email. I need my case to be functional (i.e. a place for business cards and a few sheets of important paper.

I'm not looking for something 'sexy', but rather something 'functional'. I seem to be in the minority here.

Yes it does, but it sits flat and no angle to type.

We all have our opinions. im not offended, I like it and I think it looks stylish. Also consider how fragile this thing has been proven to be. A drop on carpeted floor has been proven to cause pixelation. I have huge hands and the iPad feels tiny and very thin to hold. Dont get me wrong, i do take it out every once in a while.

Black is available but I felt everybody and their mother would have black so I decided on going with something a little different.

Don't have an iPad yet since I'm in Canada, but I've been browsing for iPad cases, following two caught my eyes.

quirky cloak, when it's available $42 (multiple color choices)

something pricey but pretty cool, Temple handmade all leather ipad case $189 (it's really a satchel/manpurse/bag/kickstand, in full brown leather, or brown leather & military green waxed, or black)

That Temple bag is nice but wont it block the ambient light sensor??

You mean the ambient light sensor that never seems to work? LOL.

I ordered this bag today. I'll let you know when it comes in how it works with the sensor.

Re: the home button - he redesigned it so there is nothing covering the home button now.

Ah thats what I was wondering. If that sensor works like it does on the Iphone im not going to worry about it. I actually ordered the bag last night but then cancelled after I noticed that it covered the entire bezel. Told him I would wait to see where the sensor was once I got the 3g Ipad. I also have a Vaja case on order so I will prob pick the best of the 2.

I think that many of these case manufacturers have things backwards. I don't need the back of the iPad protected, I need the front protected. I'm looking for a "case" that is nothing more than a cover for the front that attaches to the side via hinges and unfolds book-fashion as well as fold completely back for handheld tablet mode or partially back to act as a stand.

Are there any covers like that?

Instead of Vaja, you are better off with Piel Frama.

Yes many.. Folio style.

Just Ordered the Temple Case

Temple Bags has posted a list of recent changes they made to their iPad cases and I just ordered the leather one... I believe the changes addressed all of the concerns expressed here and I love the look and quality of the case... Also, the fact that other users are reporting on their web page that it is very easy to insert and remove the iPad is a plus.

However, since I have ordered a iPad 3G+WiFi from Apple, I am assuming that there are no required changes... the only one I can think of would be associated with interfering with the 3G transmission at the top, but the case's open side design should make this a non-issue... I think?... any thoughts?

Its looks nice but I am just wondering if the case covers the ambient light sensor. I asked him and he said that he did not know if it did or not. He wasn't sure where the sensor was located. The only other thing about the case is the fact that it is upside down when its propped up, not a big deal just seems like top cover should flip from the top and not the bottom. It is a nice case though. Let us know what you think about it when you get it.

I just ordered the all leather one today too. What are these websites, if I may? I've been following the Temple blog and like the new changes, for the most part.

Thanks!
