I have more bands on the way that I can’t wait to switch out using! But this is the basic set up for my SG aluminum Series 4!

Test driving a s4 40mm space grey

coming from a s1 38mm space grey

its beautiful! just picked it up but cant stop looking at it haha

And the photo does zero justice with the brightness and display quality of the new OLED in there

The white letters were piercingly bright during set up (against a black backdrop)

(not a scratch near crown, just a weird reflection)

I am still so torn between aluminium silver and space gray! I need a professional looking one at work while switching the band up to something colourful during the weekends.

Which would you guys choose if you were me?

Silver is easier to switch up bands but I think the gray looks a bit classier. I ordered the gray.

Thank you for these pics! I can’t wait for my 44mm SBSS.

That black link bracelet looks so good with the SB! Is that an original Apple link bracelet? I don’t think Apple sells them anymore. Even if they were I remember them being like $450 or something like that. Don’t think I’d be willing to pay that much for a bracelet anyway.
I know they sell knockoffs but I doubt they’d look as good. Maybe I’m wrong.

Yes, it's an original Space Black Link Bracelet. Apple still sells them here. They actually just reduced the price from $549.00 to $449.00 one week ago.

When Apple first announced the Apple Watch in 2015, the only way to get a Stainless Steel Space Black Apple Watch was to purchase the SSSB + SB Link Bracelet combo. Neither the SSSB AW nor the SB Link Bracelet were sold separately. This made the SSSB extra special.

But then the following year, Apple made it so you could purchase a SSSB AW for cheaper (under $1,000) as you were no longer required to buy the SSSB + SB Link Bracelet combo just to get the SSSB AW. You could now purchase the SSSB AW with a Sport Band or Sport Loop. They also began selling the SB Link Bracelet on its own for $549.00 and have done so now for a couple years.

Word on the street is the Link Bracelets may be in the process of being discontinued, which could be the reason for the recent $100 price reduction.

Regarding knockoffs, nothing compares to the craftsmanship of the genuine Apple Link Bracelet. It is premium quality.

The Link Bracelet features more than 100 components and it takes 9 hours to machine all of the pieces for each Link Bracelet.

It is quite heavy, but in a satisfying way. It feels like you are wearing a piece of art. It doesn't demand attention or turn heads from far away, but rather looks stunning when you get up close enough to realize it's not just a plain black band.

I've used the Link Bracelet for 3 years now. Unlike the silver version, the SB Link Bracelet specifically features a diamond-like carbon coating (DLC), which is the most resilient of finishes offered (accounting for the $100 premium over the silver bracelet). I have exactly two hairline scratches after several years of use, and they are not even bad. They really just add to the character of the band, in my opinion.

I honestly think Apple made the Link Bracelet just to show off. It certainly feels that way to me. I keep trying to come up with another synonym, but I struggle to find a better word to use than craftsmanship. The Link Bracelet exudes craftsmanship.

Do you need this band? No. Is it expensive? Yes. Should you buy it if you can't afford it? No. But if money is no object, you will absolutely not be disappointed with your purchase, and you will not regret going with the authentic option over a knockoff.

First in line at my Apple Store this morning and purchased a 44 SBSS watch. But before I left the store I started having second thoughts about the SS Gold. I just love the finish of it. After deliberating some time I exchanged the Space Black for the Gold and am happy with my decision. The gold goes well with the black, blue and green bands I already have. Hard to go wrong with either though.

The gold seems to be really subtle in pictures. Almost have to squint to see if it is SS or gold! is this true, or is it just the pictures? (or my eyes? haha)
