I sold a buddy my s1 for $100 with It’s black sport band and the charge cable

That helps offset some of the ding in my wallet. I also got s1 on Craigslist like-new for $150 a year ago so not too bad. Really really enjoying this thing. Size comparison of (control center?) between 38 and 40

The charcoal-y black sport band goes nicely with the new shape of series4 imo. Just pops in a dark way.

The gold seems to be really subtle in pictures. Almost have to squint to see if it is SS or gold! is this true, or is it just the pictures? (or my eyes? haha)

It’s true. The gold SS is very subtle in most lighting environments, almost like a diluted, less pink, rose gold. That said, I love the fact that it isn’t “in your face” yellow gold.

Yes, it's an original Space Black Link Bracelet. Apple still sells them here. They actually just reduced the price from $549.00 to $449.00 one week ago.

When Apple first announced the Apple Watch in 2015, the only way to get a Stainless Steel Space Black Apple Watch was to purchase the SSSB + SB Link Bracelet combo. Neither the SSSB AW nor the SB Link Bracelet were sold separately. This made the SSSB extra special.

But then the following year, Apple made it so you could purchase a SSSB AW for cheaper (under $1,000) as you were no longer required to buy the SSSB + SB Link Bracelet combo just to get the SSSB AW. You could now purchase the SSSB AW with a Sport Band or Sport Loop. They also began selling the SB Link Bracelet on its own for $549.00 and have done so now for a couple years.

Word on the street is the Link Bracelets may be in the process of being discontinued, which could be the reason for the recent $100 price reduction.

Regarding knockoffs, nothing compares to the craftsmanship of the genuine Apple Link Bracelet. It is premium quality.

The Link Bracelet features more than 100 components and it takes 9 hours to machine all of the pieces for each Link Bracelet.

It is quite heavy, but in a satisfying way. It feels like you are wearing a piece of art. It doesn't demand attention or turn heads from far away, but rather looks stunning when you get up close enough to realize it's not just a plain black band.

I've used the Link Bracelet for 3 years now. Unlike the silver version, the SB Link Bracelet specifically features a diamond-like carbon coating (DLC), which is the most resilient of finishes offered (accounting for the $100 premium over the silver bracelet). I have exactly two hairline scratches after several years of use, and they are not even bad. They really just add to the character of the band, in my opinion.

I honestly think Apple made the Link Bracelet just to show off. It certainly feels that way to me. I keep trying to come up with another synonym, but I struggle to find a better word to use than craftsmanship. The Link Bracelet exudes craftsmanship.

Do you need this band? No. Is it expensive? Yes. Should you buy it if you can't afford it? No. But if money is no object, you will absolutely not be disappointed with your purchase, and you will not regret going with the authentic option over a knockoff.

Looks amazing!

My S4 44mm stainless steel with my old Saddle Brown Apple Classic Buckle. Use my Milanese for more every day stuff but this is my more formal wear strap. Love how it looks!

I’m getting a 40mm stainless steel and also plan to wear it with my old Saddle Brown classic buckle! My favourite band :)

Just got my GSS yesterday. originally ordered SBSS from apple then cancelled to order from b&h, then cancelled b&h b/c of the jewish holiday and undisclosed delivery date, so drove an hour to apple store and ended paying tax (which is the cost of a new band mind u). they only had GSS, which imo looked a tad feminine, but oh well, im impatient. haven't opened the stone band yet, just tried on the black and white sports band with it. also have a lot of knockoff leather loops that go well, however, with the extra size and slimmer profile of the watch, the loops are now almost too long for my wrist.

I’m going to pick up the GSS when I eventually buy a S4 later this year, I’ll be wearing it with the black sport band, do you have anymore pics?

Picked up the Forrest Green Leather Loop at the Apple Store last night. Wanted to get the Blue Cape Cod Leather Loop but it wasn’t in stock. I ordered it and when it arrives I’ll compare the two then decide which to keep.
Would you say it’s a little like a dark teal?

Upgraded both my phone (X to a XS Max)and my watch (1st Gen SS 38mm to a 4 SS 44mm) , but only keeping one. Definitely keeping the watch. Really digging this Stainless Steel 44mm. I have to get used to the size, but so far so good.

In person it is more Forrest Green than teal. I took that pic in natural lighting but still it’s not perfectly accurate to what you’d see with your eye. I do like the band however, but am excited to see the cape cod blue.
At the Apple store last night got a few pics of it- REALLY nice shade of blue!
