I went more than a little crazy with bands this time. I am obsessed with dressing up my favorite Apple watch of all time! I added eight new ones to my collection - braided solo in Abyss Blue & pride, Solo in dark cherry, leather link in chalk and midnight, and sport in red. I also just ordered the Nike pride sport from Best Buy (I have issues). This one is my favorite (today at least ;))!View attachment 1875543

I’m nearing 40 myself so no judgement here .

I meant to ask if you notice any appreciable difference in weight between the SS and Titanium. I debated between the SB Titanium and Graphite SS, but ultimately ordered the SB Titanium hoping for a lighter watch. Both are absolutely beautiful. I’ve got a long wait (first week of Dec) though.
Yes Ti is noticeably lighter, though SS weight is only noticeable for a moment or two. Sorta hoped I’d prefer graphite SS as it works with more bands and just has a stunning finish. But, SBTi is simply so well designed and is such a unique and evocative expression of apple’s design and engineering, that I had to select it over graphite. I see why they consider it their edition watch. But both watches offer beautiful implementations of each metal. I’ll add, haptics on the Ti (and Al) are noticeably more prominent than on the ss, to me anyway. You chose well, I think you’ll love the SBTi. I hear you about the wait but the weeks are ticking by, and soon you’ll have worn it longer than you’ve waited for it. Post pics!

Despite my glowing commentary on the SBTi, I’ve had these two small ‘nicks’ right at the edge, where the Ti meets the crystal, since unboxing. I can just barely feel it if I run my fingernail along looking for it. Is this something Apple would fix/replace? It’s super trivial but I feel it’s a shame to have such a resilient finish and it’s nicked due to a qc issue. Anybody with similar experience have a suggestion?

That would bother me, but you’d probably be looking at mid-December or late December for a replacement…. They won’t repair it. They’d just replace your watch.

Yeah good point. Do you know, would I just take it into an apple store or should I contact apple over the phone first?

Thank you for your feedback—insightful as always.

I had never thought about the benefits of haptics with Ti versus SS. Of the two AWs I’ve owned, both have been SS. I’ve always wished haptics were more prominent as I miss my stand reminders all the time when I’m the slightest bit distracted. This, along with the weight, will be another pleasant bonus for the Ti. Thanks again!

No problem! You’ll appreciate the haptics for sure.

If you are within 14 days of you receiving the item, you should be able to return it without any hassle, even with damage. You may have to schedule an appointment with the store if they are not taking walk ins. If it is over 14 days, I would contact apple first.

Great photos! Was just wondering, from where you are, does it seem like the stainless steel lugs go fine with the titanium? In the photos it looks great - I see no issues at all. But in person how is it?
I must say that I was surprised myself. Buying Ti had the inconvenience of "not being able" to use the old classic buckle or the SS silver link bracelet. But my surprise is that the classic buckle looks great, barely noticeable difference, and I'm telling you this from a person who is very fussy about such details. And the funny thing is that, in the case of the link bracelet, I like it better with Ti than with SS! The strap, for some reason, has a more matte tone than the watch, and I see it even better with the Ti case.

Do they accept damage to items when returning?

Technically, no they wouldn’t. If you declared it to be damaged to the salesperson, you run the risk of not being able to exchange or do a returns. Even if it’s not your fault, they could always flip the argument by saying there’s no way you can prove that it got damaged right out of the box.

Just tell them you want to return/exchange and let them inspect the watch. From the photo, it seems like it’s not very visible when looking at a distance.

Looks great! I really want a black solo loop but can't find it on the Apple website.
Yeah I got it just days ago from eBay, half price and unopened box. Apple doesn't sell it anymore, however they've stopped selling product red solo loop as well but I was able to buy it directly in the Apple Store two weeks ago. Perhaps they have black in stock as well, have a look if you are close to one.

Yep, that’s my concern, though I’d prefer to be transparent about it. Correct, I can barely notice it even while knowing it’s there, so I don’t think it’ll be an issue. I may have to wait about 6-8 weeks for another one to be available 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I highly doubt you’d be given any issues with returning if you’re within 14 days.

I have returned watches with out of box damage and just told them about it. It did not affect the return at all.

Thanks, good tip. Luckily I still have a couple days before my 14 days window ends. Which is probably why it’s bothering me more now lol.

I really like the Titanium but now have a Gold pro max arriving next week no choice in that (Silver is delayed till December) and the carrier upgrade offer was to good to pass. Need to decide Gold or Titanium watch; I like the titanium a lot but the mismatch with the gold phone bothers me 🙈
Love the Titanium look (and not just because that‘s the combo I ordered)!

I am really loving the rainbow braided band! I was thinking of getting one for my upcoming SS Silver 45mm (which won’t arrive for another month!—but I will wait), but I was worried about how the colors and material will show dirt/sweat. Same with the lavender color, which I think is lovely. Also…will the braided material acquire an odor from wearing during workouts?
