I’m loving the Series 7. Elegant. I wouldn’t want anything bigger. (41mm, Starlight, Milanese Loop)

It's a nice bold design. You'll enjoy it!

I might still keep my stainless steel, but I wear my Apple Watch for casual anyways and never dress up. When I go out and about, I always go with my mechanical watches. I am a watch enthusiast. The Ultra is going to be great for my mountain bike trail rides and how I normally wear for casual day to day. I am hype to get the Ultra, but my delivery is 2 weeks out and hoping to get it sooner.

No Ultra for me. It’s not for me. It’s an amazing piece of tech but I prefer the design of the “Series” watch as a daily watch. To me I would only buy the Ultra for its intended utility rugged purpose not to wear it as a casual or dressy watch and those intended purposes don’t apply to me but if they did, it is absolutely an amazing watch for that! I know a lot of people will disagree with me lol but that is just my opinion and I’m very happy for everyone who is buying it just to dress it up and wear it just for style. Also the watch is a beast on the wrist and becomes the center of attention on the wrist, I’ve tried it on at the Apple Store. I personally think it looks too big/bulky on a lot of people’s wrist but again this watch wasn’t meant to be stylish it was meant to be a utility.
I am with you 100%. It's a wonderful watch, and although I'm in love with my new SB Hermes, the Ultra is not for me.

I could give several reasons, but there's really only one: my wrist is too small for that watch. All the rest are excuses, my boyfriend says I have no judgement with Apple and everything they make I think is wonderful and I buy it LOL.

If there was a smaller version, like a 43 or something like that, I wouldn't even think about it. But it doesn't. And I have the proof. I went to the Apple Store and that's how sad it looks on a 15 cm wrist...

I wish I could fatten my bones hahahaha

So I'm sticking with my wonderful little shiny Hermes. Much more proportional for my wrist!

I have a strong feeling they will come out with a smaller variant Ultra that 38/40/41mm bands will pair with it just like the current pairing with 42/44/45mm bands. They won’t be tied to only the huge 49mm variant in the future which will open up their market even more and they will also come out with a darker finish which will definitely slim it down visually. This is only the 1st gen they’ll open up the options more in the next gens. Typical Apple fashion.

S8 Hermes is a nice consolation prize though!

Spent the day experimenting with the backtrack feature. probably should have brought the dirt bike but this is really convenient to have. The truth is, I've been using a Garmin Zumo XT with recording turned on for years and I can just go back the way I can as it tracks my bread-crumbs at boot up but having the watch do this is nice as well.

I was worried about the Ultra's height because I wear full gauntlet motorcycle gloves and already the 45MM watches always had a pretty pronounced hump. this isn't too bad. Of course, the activity button I have set to 'waypoint' is pretty useless when I wear full gear so I'll probably change things up. When I have off-road crashes, the fall detection usually starts ringing family before I can remove my gloves and pull my jacket sleeve up to get to the cancel button.

I'm also LOVING the always on display. I have a Qi charger on my motorcycle and this is really nice to know a text came through without taking hands off the handlebar to Pres the power button:

Spending the next 3 weekends in the woods, looking forward to using the Ultra for more compass / way finding workflows. The day I got the iPhone 14, I already got to use the satellite to update find my (no service at my house and definitely not when I'm camping which is every weekend until mid-October)
I like the bike. I was looking to purchase a Honda ct125 to throw on the back of my offfoad Sequoia when deep in the woods. I love being off the grid.

Good choice. If you're driving to the trail, get something as light as you can stand for day-rides. A lot of people try to get something they can ride to and trail and camp off and end up getting too heavy then it's zero fun off-road. It's a hard balance. Hitch mounted bike carriers + a 2-stroke are a good combo!

46mm Ultra 2 is being developed just for you. Perhaps 45.3mm but rounded up to avoid absolute naming bedlam. I looked and the Ultra 1 is exactly 49

We shall see what happens with the future of Ultra in the mean time very happy with my “Series” watch. When are you taking part of the Ultra lifestyle?

It is a bold design indeed! Here are photos I took at the Apple Store. It’s a bulky beast for sure lol

Doesn’t look bad at all actually! But there’s also how it feels to the wearer. So I get it. For me it feels a little too big on my wrist at times. Plus, I think I just prefer the traditional Apple Watch series design for everyday GADA use. I known it’s not new and several comments mention it’s outdated, but I don’t think so.

That’s a great use for it, an actual rugged sport. My equivalent is taking boxes down to the recycling room 😆. What mechanical watches do you wear most? Keep an eye out for the ultra, I’ve seen a couple pop up here and there so hopefully you snag one sooner. If not, a couple weeks isn’t too long.

I’d have to fall out of love with Starlight somehow. And SSS in addition is just so much “light gray watch,” to say nothing of stalwart ol’ bezel dog white cerammy. Natural Ti 7 yoink versus Ultra yoink is a tough call.

NaTi 7 41 or 45? Or whatever is yoinkable at the moment?
