My watch

FullSizeRender.jpg

I've had this watch for about 3 years. Never felt the need for anything more expensive until now. I love the white, so in memory of this watch I purchased a white sport band separately for my new Apple watch. Going to try my best to keep it pristine...##

I have been wearing that watch for couple years, I used to have a different watch before, but I do not have it anymore.

Thanks, I'm asking because a work mate of mine has been eyeing various Skagen watches for months. He just never pulled the trigger because he wasn't sure about quality and longevity.

This is all water under the bridge now, I guess, because he, too, ordered an Apple Watch...

This breitling navitimer is going in the bin. Really like the link bracelet but reckon gen 2 watch will really be good. Hope I can reuse the link braclet.

Do you let the chronograph running all the time?

Oh my god that's really your collection?
Amazing!

I lusted over one of them for years, but never got round to buying one. Take it you went for the SS Space Black to replace it?

This is my current watch (looks a lot more beat up now), had it for 10 years as of this summer.

No mate, I went for the SS Milanese, but only because there appears to be more options for straps with the SS model. Maybe on the next Gen I will buy a space black one. Although I do like my current watch, so I will just decide to wear the apple watch or my current one depending on my clothes or how I feel/occasion.

I have in total 4 watches at the moment that I wear in random rotation. The apple watch will join this rotation. I will then have 5 that I wear in random order.

I think the change in functionality between having on the Apple Watch and the regular watches is going to be so disruptive that you won't be able to do this. If you only wear your Apple Watch on Mondays, then you can only do certain things with your watch on that day. Either the smartwatch features are something you will get used to using, in which case you will always want the Apple Watch on (setting aside dress up for special occasions). Or you won't find it useful, in which case the superior glace-ability of having an "always on" watch with the time will carry the day and the Apple Watch will fall out of the rotation. Remember, the Apple Watch is not a great "watch" because the screen is not on all the time and it needs to be charged daily.

But if the smart watch features are compelling and become part of your daily habits, than how do you go back to anything that isn't smart?

That is the $10 billion question isn't it?

Show us the watch you are currently wearing that will be replaced by the Appl...

Here's mine. Glad I got the 42mm SS cause I'm already so used to wearing the 44mm PAM on a daily basis.

Is that 111?
The cannon pin looks weird.

I hope what you are saying doesn't happen or that apple plans to come out with a design that can be worn simultaneously with traditional watches.
I would hate to be just wearing a gadget on my wrist all the time.

In fact, I even considered MICROSOFT Band because it would have let me wear another watch but in the end I couldn't buy a Microsoft hardware product.

Bought new in 1974 and worn most days. This earlier version is 36mm but I
believe later versions were bumped up to 38mm. Costs about £4300 new.

This is what I have been wearing, but I have finally stopped wearing since it is falling apart I need a new band for this watch, and a battery

Not a bad watch.. I still like the Apple watch more but this one is pretty nice IMO.

Absolutely true. Could be that I totally miss my smart watch. I will see.

Btw. My rotation frequency is much lower then per day. It's more once per month I change the watch.

The thing is that the style of my other watches is absolutely comparable to the apple watch. That's what is so great about it for me. Of course it looks different but e.g. Out of the 4 I have three with metal casing and black band. Like the apple watch with black band I ordered.
