How great is the difference in sharpness of text between the retina screen and the TB display? Enough difference that your eyes need to adjust going from one to the other if they are side by side, the retina not in clamshell-mode?

Yes, you can easily tell the difference. One just keeps wishing higher DPI on the TBD. But it basically comes down to screen realestate. And then TBD is as good as it gets. For now.

Purchased a new (longer) desktop and finally got around to putting my decals up on the wall.

Wow. Beautiful setup. The wall backdrop might be a bit too busy for me to relax while I get work done. But none the less, props for a gorgeous setup. I appreciate how cleanly you hid the wires/cords so they don't hang down by your feet. Well played sir.

Awesome. Where did you get that table top? Also what's between the two thunderbolt displays?

It's a HiFiman EF2A Tube USB DAC/Headphone Amp

Thank you. I realize it's probably busier than most people would prefer but I really wanted something bright and colorful to help keep me inspired.

I'm a big stickler for wires and a slab of wood like this doesn't give me much room to hide them but I screwed a cable management tray along the top/back that holds a power strip and all the wires neatly and out of the way. - I'm glad my anal attention to detail didn't go un-noticed!

Hi! VERY interested in knowing where you got that table top from, any help would be much appreciated. What are its dimensions??

It's a 96" Kitchen Countertop from IKEA -- basically just a giant block of wood (the thing weighs over 100lbs) that I laid on top of some white sawhorse legs. I had the 72" before but those dual displays are so huge it took up most of the desk.

Pimp. Mind if I ask what kind of chair that is?

Unknown to me when I bought it, it's actually a wannabe Eames Management chair. I think I paid around $200 for it (the real deal is closer to $1,000 apparently)

I've had it for a few years now, it's surprisingly comfortable and my only real complaint is that after a few years of heavy use the blue coloring from my jeans has slowly begun to stain the seat near the knees a light blue.

That being said I would still give it a thumbs up and would consider ordering the same chair again.

Could you take / post a picture of your cable management? Very curious to see how you pulled it off! Also, did you use the cable management rack from IKEA? Any details greatly appreciated! :)

Yea, I just screwed the metal rack right into the wood.

I placed the surge protector up there and wrap my wires around the pegs to keep them tight and in place.

anyone have cable management suggestions for a glass desktop?

i love the ones i have seen in this thread but they require screws into the desk.

I've seen people run the cables along the the legs of the desk. Can that be done for your desk?

perhaps with a spiral wrap
