Really loving the design, resolution and size of this screen, but the IO options are so poor for the price.

Can't deal with USB 2 in 2015 - not going back.

I'm right there with you. I gave my ATD to my wife when I assumed that there would be a display refresh last summer. I have a 15" rMPB, so it's not like I'm suffering but I just can't pull the trigger on another ATD after waiting this long, not even for the $799 refurb price. I don't even care that much about 5K but USB2 is a no go at this point.

Sad this thread is dying. One of my favorites, seeing everyone's wicked awesome setups. Hopefully Apple will get some new displays out soon so this thread will come alive again.

What's the panel on the desk at the far left?

Oh yeah, my 2012 13" MacBook Air. I have a Svalt D Cooling Dock that I set it in to do updates and backups on the iMac screen in wireless Screen Sharing mode. It's not really part of the core setup, everything is connected to the iMac.

The panel on the desk is the control panel for the treadmill for when the motorized desk is raised.

Shouldn't we now asking folks to show off their 4K or 5K monitor installations? Does anyone seriously go out and purchase an expensive 2K Thunderbolt display that can't do TB2 or USB 3 when you can get a 27" 4K IPS panel for half the price?

Looking forward to new TB displays hopefully at 5K. I hope Apple can come back with matte displays but I am not holding my breath. I have the ACD matte ones and every time I use one of the glossy new ones I shake my head. So much glare and reflections from any light background. I like to work with my windows opens and light in the room and it is just a pain using the glossy displays.
Come on Apple, time to upgrade displays.

same here... waiting for a upgrade Apple TB...
I don't understand why they can release an iMac 5K and not the Display... well Im not an expert, 5K too expensive for this age? anyway, I wait...

I totally agree... Especially when apple release the new Mac Pro machines and users that want to work on ultra high definition content have to buy a third manufacturer monitor:((

Doesn't it have to do with TB2 not being able to handle 5k?

The issue is Thunderbolt 3 is not available. My hope Apple is waiting for Skylake to release update TB displays.

Here's mine next to a 24" Dell. New Uplift standing desk.
