Would you mind elaborating on why and how the LEDs help please? I do a lot of late nights in front of my mac and get eyestrain...

if i may ask
can you provide a link or details regarding the LED that you use for the use behind the screen???
would be awesome to try this:D

Heya! :)

It's just a led strip you can find on any hardware store or on IKEA. Lots of them can change colors and blink and whatever, the ones i've got, are just plain white light that can be set to severals "steps" of brightness... :)

Mine is similar to this one without the color wheel... :)

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60192355/

I've glued them to the side of the table behind my monitor (and not on top of the table) with them facing the wall. They will reflect the light in the wall and give a nice light that it's not direct to your eyes nor too strong.

thanks for the info!
on one of you pics its shows like your legs are blue but maybe ts the way the picture is shot?
would definitely get this and use it for my set up..just on a dilemma on getting an RGB instead of just white (cold or warm colour)

My legs don't show on any pic.. :D

As for the blue tint, i was shooting that photo without any light besides the leds and the screen's light... My camera sucks big time, so whenever she has to handle very low light without flash it normally gives this cold feeling to the photos...

But the light is completely white. And it's cold white. :)

Oooooops a typo that was actually funny! Lol
Yes I was thinking of a cold white but don't know yet:)
The link you provided from the ikea catalog is with RGB colors or just *****?? Would be nice to have some options:))

My home office

For years I lusted after an Apple cinema display but couldn't justify the price, after pairing my iMac with 3 inferior screens I finally caved in. No matter what display I put alongside my iMac it just doesn't look right or have the same clarity and resolution. I searched and finally found mine at OWC as a "slightly used" for an excellent price around 45% off new. My next dilemma was getting the screens lined up perfectly with my existing ergotron arm.

Dual TBolt standing workstation

I finally got some cable management done to my workstation so that it looks nice enough to share photos of. I have 2x Thunderbolt displays connected to an early 2011 Macbook Pro i7.

I also have an HP Pavilion Slimline s5503w (hidden in the desk) that is connected to the 22" monitor in the corner and used for Windows Media Center live and recorded TV as well as for running my ham radio software.

Below the 22" monitor are the ham radios. An Icom IC-910H for VHF/UHF on top and an Icom IC-756Pro for HF.

The desk is comprised of a (now discontinued) IKEA frame of some sort I got from a friend and a $6 interior door that I purchased from a second-hand store, painted black to match the rest of my office furniture, and screwed to the top of the frame.

This is where I am out right now. Had a bit of a mishap yesterday with the left monitor tilting downwards until it came to a rest on top of my DAC, luckily nothing was damaged even cosmetically as it was a petrifying yet amusingly smooth descent.

Other than apparently under tightening the tilt tension (with the built in tilt and heavy weight of the Thunderbolt display they basically need to be completely clamped down) the Monitors in Motion Boa arms are pretty great. Love utilizing the stock tilt mechanism as it's quite good.

Anyways heres a picture or two.

Just picked up a used TBD... Been shopping for monitor for my rMBP 13 for a while.. the seems like the TBD is still the best docking display available in the market... might want to replace this setup with a retina imac in the future...

Found a guy selling two together on Craigslist for $1k, added them to my maxed out 2013 iMac and got them up to level with HiRise stands, which conveniently match the G-Tech Drives.

Hi guys,
My orders have just arrived. I really liked the TBD. I wish I had this setup for a long time ago.
Thank you for your valuable advises.

This is my setup:

TBD Stand?

Currently, I am using two 500-sheet reams of office paper to elevate my Thunderbolt Display to a height. It was the cheap solution at the time. Currently, the bottom edge of the glass sits about 8" off the top of the desk. I'd like to go to 10" above the desk. Is there a professional way to elevate to this height (without going to a VESA arm)?

I would consider a VESA arm. That may be best.

Hi, how are you?

Maybe the Twelve South HiRise is what you're looking for. In the title it say it's for iMac, but if you read the page it says it also works with the Thunderbolt Display.
You said you want to go to 10" above the desk, and currently you have it at about 8", right? The HiRise in the 4th self elevates the display by 1.96 inches, roughly what you want ^^

Best wishes, HFoletto.

Yes, but if the HiRise only elevates 2 inches, I'd still need the paper reams. I'm looking for an affordable, ergonomically correct solution.

Sell the TBD and get a hight adjustable Dell! Affordable (probably even some profit) and ergonomically correct (since adjustable)

Wow, that's an awesome setup! Congrats :D

Mac Bass Cannon Pro + (I may be wrong, but it at least looks like a) Schiit Audio Gungnir!
May I ask you how are you liking this DAC?

Best wishes, HFoletto.

That is a Gungnir. I like it quite a lot, it's treated me well so far.

Really loving the design, resolution and size of this screen, but the IO options are so poor for the price.

Can't deal with USB 2 in 2015 - not going back.
