I think I am going to put a clear film on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Clear glossy film on the sides and clear matte on the back. I am going to go with XtremeSkins. Probably the closest to having a “naked” phone.

I have not. I have used a clear film on the iPhone 4S and it looked great. Someone else has ordered and received the XtremeSkins clear film. I will need to find the thread where the person posted. The initial impressions was that the film was if very good quality. They ordered the clear glossy sides and matte clear back. As a bonus XtremeSkins also sent them a complementary matte clear sides skins as well.

EDIT: Found the thread about XtremeSkins for the iPhone 12.

Man, I’d love to go caseless. Even better, I’d love to be able to drop my naked phone onto rough pavement without suffering a minor nervous breakdown.

For the time being, a case + screen protector seem to be the only way to achieve the latter. ;)

I have never dropped a phone before and have been using my 11 Pro Max caseless for over a week. It feels great and smaller in the hand. I am going caseless for my 12 Pro Max but will get a sleeve to transport it around in.

so i started taking my case off at home for my 11 PM and it feels great. That's what is making me lean this way. but a sleeve to transport seems smart

Naked with a clear skin from Slickwraps - Naked series. Slow in shipping, but they currently have a 60% off sale.

edit: also ordered a bumper from eBay, although I’m not sure if I’ll use it. Want to see in-person first.

Ive been using the 12 pro in gold naked for a week(testing it’s durability knowing I’m trading it for the max) and let me tell you, this is a solid phone. It’s still pristine. The grip is better so it’s less likely to fly out of your hands. Just take the usual precaution. Don’t have your keys and phone living in the same space, whether it’s your pocket or purse. Just keeping it separated in general from any object that could potentially scuff or scratch it. I don’t see any problem carrying it naked but be mindful

so you are really taking the risk of having a phone naked when you know you have to trade it in and dropping it make you not be able to drop it in. Thats risky bro

I have good eye and hand coordination from playing PUBG, lol. I do realize the risk of dropping it and Apple not accepting the return if it’s damaged. I think though that Apple draws the line if the screen is cracked or shattered. If theres any scuff on the screen, sides, or micro scratches on the display that won’t be a dealbreaker for an exchange. It would have to be obvious damage like a cracked or shattered display. But with the new ceramic shield there is less worry that the display will get significant damage.

You gonna go caseless (<autocorrect tried to make that “careless” btw 😂) with your 12PM?

Since 2017 I’ve never purchased applecare for any of my iPhones. I always buy the Apple leather case without a screen protector and i call it good enough. So I’ll do the same but I’ll be caseless more than i have been because keeping this years phone cased up 24/7 is ridiculous. Having a case to use in certain outings would still be a good idea.

Wish I can go naked, but my work in the field requires some protection on the phone so:
Encased clear case w/ belt clip and Belkin anti glare screen shield.
