Funny, I'm gay and I've had a lot of guys come up to me and ask me about it

I think guys are more likely to ask about watches and the capabilites than women. Puts you in a better position to actually start a meaningful conversation and go from there IMO.

I own a 360 and so far every women has said the same thing to me. "Cool watch. Is that an Apple Watch?"

But seriously, how many of you have actually went out in public and used the watch as conversation starter?

Women do stop me to ask if I am wearing the "watch". You would be surprised how well this works in public.

You're not USING THE WATCH as a sole way to get girls

Au contraire, that's exactly what the OP said. He wasn't saying anything about using the watch as an "Ice Breaker" only. If that were the case that would apply to making friends with guys as well. He was specifically referring to women. Those were his words I quoted.

Why can only single guys answer? There are other combinations that would make for better stories IMO.

Attractive girls are all gold diggers? That attitude isn't going to get you a date.

don't give unsolicited dating advices to strangers on the internet making assumptions about others.

and that is not what i said.
i said only the gold is likely to attract significant amount of attention; if I saw a gold apple watch, i'd probably comment on it, not because I am a gold digger, but it's an interesting rare thing, kind of like seeing a Patek Philippe minute repeater.

I can't believe that you guys let this thread die. This is much more entertaining than hearing ppl bitch and complain all day lol!

What are you talking about? This thread hasn't died. It's been steady with posts each day since you created it.

Oh ok. I haven't really been on here for the past few days. And didn't see it at first. Still I get kick out of some of the replies on here.

They are quite interesting posts, I have to agree. Don't trip about people saying it's a troll thread. You're right, it's a breath of fresh air from all the hate comments about the AppleWatch.

What if I bought a cute puppy, and put an Apple Watch on him?

Would I be able to pick up chicks then?

I was on a long flight, aisle seat, watching TV shows on the then newly released color screen iPod. An attractive stewardess kept coming by and asking me questions about it. I assume she was using it as an ice breaker to talk with me, not because she cared about the iPod or that I spent $500 on it.

But being gay, I got annoying quickly! :p

I assume most people would use the Apple Watch as an icebreaker, not as a reason to pick up or be picked up by someone!

Well, the puppy would be able to, at least :D

This whole thread reminds me of that mildly self-mocking Samsung Gear ad, where a slightly weird ski dude flirts with a girl, by using his smartwatch's capabilities.

I guess real life really does imitate art.

I have actually had it noticed by women and had a few ask about it. It seems a lot more stare at it than use it as a reason to speak to you... granted I haven't actually approached any. I have been too busy to care this past week.

I am going to be going to Rock on the Range this weekend. Actually hoping it doesn't attract too many eyes.

I own a SS version and to be honest I think the apple watch is very nerdy.
If it does get any attention from women I'd probably assume that they think I'm a nerd. My aim is to hide the fact I'm a nerd but love the Apple watch too much

Why? Never be ashamed to be who you are.

I work in a very pretentious industry, image is everything and unfortunately the apple watch isn't classy enough to some of the clients I have to deal with
They notice everything from the car I drive, to the watch I'm wearing !

I'm a decent looking, relatively socially adept young adult and only one of my worldly possessions has ever helped me with the ladies. My dog, aka my best friend and best wingman ever.
